One Piece: Peace Shattered By Roger (Completed)

Chapter 78: This Man Showed a Fearsome Smile

Kaizen turned around reluctantly, his expression darkening as his eyes fell on three imposing figures standing behind him: Akainu, Kizaru, and Aokiji—the three Marine Admirals.

"Oh, we meet again, huh?" Kaizen scratched his head, feigning nonchalance, but inwardly he cursed himself for being so distracted by the battle below that he hadn't noticed their approach.

"Rejecting the Shichibukai offer and siding with Golden Lion Shiki's crew—is that your answer?" Kizaru asked, his hands in his pockets, his tone calm yet laced with menace.

Kaizen shrugged, raising his hands in mock surrender. "Well, it's a long story. I'd rather not explain."

"Although the higher-ups haven't officially decided how to handle you, your actions today leave no room for leniency," Akainu growled, his voice deep and gravelly. Molten lava dripped ominously from his clenched fists. "For the sake of justice, eliminating you here and now would be perfectly acceptable."

Kaizen sighed, raising a finger. "Let me clarify something—I didn't come here to fight."

"Then you shouldn't have come at all!" Akainu roared. Without further words, the Admirals unleashed their attacks, each embodying their devastating elemental powers.

Kaizen's reflexes kicked in as he narrowly dodged streams of magma, flashes of light, and freezing bursts of ice. Though unscathed for the moment, he quickly realized that the Admirals weren't holding back.

"Well, this got messy fast," Kaizen muttered to himself as he weaved between their relentless strikes. "I just wanted to watch the fight! Now, look at the trouble I'm in."

The battle in Marineford Square raged on, with Kaizen locked in a fierce standoff against the Admirals atop the city's defensive walls. Rain poured harder as if reflecting the intensity of the chaos below.

Amidst the storm, Golden Lion Shiki, bloodied and leaning against a crumbling pillar, called out to Kaizen. "Sorry for dragging you into this, kid."

Kaizen smirked, shaking his head. "No one dragged me into anything. I was too curious for my own good. I wanted to see the strength of this place, but I guess I underestimated the price of wandering into the lion's den."

Despite the dire situation, Kaizen smiled—a strange, knowing expression. It was a smile that mocked the absurdity of his circumstances and the endless struggles of his life.

"Struggling, only to end up in the very place I despise," Kaizen murmured under his breath. The rain plastered his hair to his face as he stared into the chaos below.

"Is this world truly so cruel? Do we have no choice but to suffer silently, alone in our helplessness?"

Kaizen's eyes narrowed, a spark igniting within them. No. He refused to accept such a fate.

"Bring it on, world," Kaizen thought fiercely, his determination surging. "If you want to stop me, then come at me with everything you've got!"

Kaizen's grin widened, his teeth bared in a terrifying expression that could unnerve even the bravest warrior. His Conqueror's Haki erupted, creating a powerful aura that radiated like a hellish flower blooming amidst the carnage. The Marines in the square trembled, cold sweat dripping down their backs.

"Don't get cocky in the face of justice!" Akainu bellowed, and the Admirals launched another wave of elemental attacks.

Kaizen opened his eyes, his Haki clashing with the incoming elements. The attacks exploded mid-air, their fiery, icy, and dazzling remnants scattering like fireworks across the stormy sky.

"He dispersed their combined attack with just his Haki?!"

"Is this the guy who fought alongside Whitebeard against Admiral Zephyr?"

The Marines watching from below were stunned. Whispers of Kaizen's strength spread rapidly, tinged with fear and awe.

Suddenly, a figure burst through the chaos, moving faster than the eye could follow. Vice Admiral Garp emerged, his iron fist crashing into Kaizen's face with a force that shook the ground.

Kaizen was knocked back but quickly regained his footing, brushing the corner of his mouth as if nothing had happened.

"Lieutenant General Garp!" the Marines cried out in unison, their morale reignited at the sight of the legendary hero.

Shiki, still recovering nearby, called out to Kaizen. "Kid, you okay? Garp's fists pack a hell of a punch."

Kaizen smirked, stretching his neck. "I've felt this fist before. Nothing new."

Garp's stern gaze bore into Kaizen. "Last time, I let you off too easily. I've regretted it ever since. That ends today."

Kaizen laughed, his voice echoing across the square. "Regret, huh? Life's full of it. But Mr. Garp, you should learn to let go."

"Regret is what drives me forward," Garp replied, cracking his knuckles. His expression was firm, his resolve unshakable.

Kaizen's tone turned serious as he stepped forward, his aura intensifying. "Last time, we didn't get to settle things properly. Today, we finish this."

Garp nodded, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "None of you interfere," he ordered the surrounding Marines. "This fight is mine."

As the rain poured heavier, Garp's confidence radiated. "The last time I felt this alive was fighting Roger."

From the sidelines, Sengoku frowned. "You're showing off again, Garp."

"Shut it, Sengoku," Garp barked. "If you get in my way, you'll regret it."

His lips twisted into a rare, deadly smile—a smile that foreshadowed a battle that would shake the heavens.
