One Piece: Reincarnated as Buggy the Clown

Chapter 24: RBTC: Chapter 24

---

After the old woman confessed everything about the human trafficking organization, Buggy learned how to contact the organization and some information about its key figures.

He had learned everything he needed to know. Buggy's "En'yō" flew into the old woman's chest, and she died. If there was a hell, she probably went to the 18th level.

He didn't bother with the bodies. He kicked them into the nearby forest, one by one. Perhaps this was the greatest compensation they could receive from this world.

Buggy returned to his original seat and pondered for a while. Dealing with this kind of cancer was too troublesome. And its size would pose a significant threat to them. It wouldn't be worth it to eliminate them. Buggy wondered if he should just ignore them. After a long time, he made a decision.

Human trafficking was commonplace in this world. It existed everywhere. If he wanted to take care of everything, he couldn't possibly manage it all.

But this human trafficking organization had appeared before him, and he had killed their people. This meant they had a grudge.

Whether he intervened or not, he would clash with them. Even if he found Hogback and left directly, they might still come after him. It was unavoidable. And since he had encountered this darkness, as a good young man of the new era, he had to do something about it.

While Buggy was thinking about these things, time flew by. Kuro, Daddy Masterson, and the others returned one after another.

When everyone saw Buggy's heavy expression, they asked about the situation. After some discussion, they agreed with Buggy's opinion.

Since they knew about this darkness, they had to deal with it. Danger wasn't a problem for them. Wasn't this the meaning of life at sea? Soaring through danger and excitement was the life they were destined to experience. If they retreated from every danger, there was no point in sailing anymore.

Seeing everyone's agreement, Buggy was very satisfied. They were all kind-hearted young men. Their conscience and sense of justice hadn't been eroded by time and hardship. They were at the age of passion. It was normal for them to make this choice.

They didn't rush to find the organization. This wasn't something that could be accomplished in a short time. They decided to find Hogback first.

After some inquiries, they learned Hogback's exact location. News about him was practically common knowledge.

Hogback had opened a clinic in the city center. It was easy to find. They would easily find him there.

Just as Buggy and his crew set out to find Hogback, a man was reporting the incident about Buggy inside a luxurious building.

"What's the matter? Didn't I tell you not to come to me unless it was something important?"

"Sir, an important member of the organization was taken out by someone. Before she died, she seemed to have revealed a lot of information. I couldn't decide what to do, so I had to come and report the situation."

"Dead is dead. What's the big deal? Who in this kingdom of Illysia dares to defy us? Just find some people to take care of them. Isn't that enough?"

"Sir, it's not that simple. The person's strength is not simple. The bodyguards I sent to protect her were easily taken out by this person. I don't think sending ordinary people would be effective."

"Oh, he's strong? That's a problem. Alright, I understand. I'll handle this. You should keep a close eye on his movements. Report back immediately if anything unusual happens. As for him, I'll send people to take care of him. Don't worry about that."

After hearing this, the subordinate respectfully retreated. One person remained.

This person was burly and stern-faced. It was clear that he was a long-time leader.

"He's asking for it. This country can't tolerate such instability." The man muttered to himself as he left.

Buggy and his crew arrived at the street where Hogback's clinic was located. It was very prosperous, bustling with people. The road was very wide, a two-way street. Many carriages used by nobles were parked on the side of the street. This proved its status. It was undoubtedly the most prosperous street in Illysia.

This was prime real estate. The fact that Hogback could open a clinic here was a testament to his superb medical skills. Otherwise, how could he afford to open a clinic here?

They quickly found the clinic. It was easy to find. Seeing the words on the plaque, they knew they were in the right place. Other clinics would have a name. Hogback had simply put his own name on the plaque.

There weren't many people in the clinic, but there were a few. Most of them were people in fancy clothes, seeing a doctor. There wasn't a single person in rags.

Buggy thought about Hogback's personality as a doctor. He was a doctor for money. His medical skills were very high, but his prices were definitely expensive. How could his clinic possibly have poor people coming to see him?

Buggy thought about how to get inside. Forcing his way in was clearly out of the question. The people here were either rich or noble. Forcing his way in would cause a big commotion. It would be troublesome, and it might even attract the kingdom's army.

To avoid trouble, he had to go through the proper channels. He could see Hogback if he went in to see a doctor.

Buggy asked the hospital staff about the rules. The rules here were very unique. Money was the key. If you had money, you could go in early. The earlier you wanted to go in, the more money you had to pay. You could pay 100,000 berries to get into the top ten. A million berries, and you could go in next.

"What a guy, Hogback," Buggy thought to himself involuntarily. He had turned every aspect of medicine into a business. He probably earned a lot just from the queueing fees. If he hadn't been a doctor, he would definitely have been a successful businessman.

Buggy paid 100,000 berries for a spot in the top ten. It wasn't that he couldn't afford a million berries, or that he was unwilling. He didn't have that much money on him.

And there was no need to rush in. They weren't sick. They weren't in a hurry. They weren't suckers. It was better to wait for a few people to go in first.

After waiting for ten minutes, it was their turn. Led by a medical staff member, they walked towards a room.

A young doctor in his twenties, tall and ordinary-looking, was sitting there.

Hogback wasn't as obese as he would be later. He was an average build, quite tall. His face wasn't like it would be later, as if it had been stitched together. It was an ordinary young man's face.

When they entered, he put down his work, raised his head, and looked at them. He scanned them with a look of disdain.

He judged from their clothes and age that they weren't rich or noble. They were just ordinary people with no money to be made from them.
