Chapter 38 : Arrangements
One month later.
Marine headquarters.
Marineford.
"Marine's...Intern?"
Sengoku was puzzled.
Do we have interns at Marine?
"There are apprentices on the Pirate ship, why doesn't Marine have interns?"
Garp wearing the Marine Justice cloak sat aside, eating doughnuts and said, "That's what the kid said."
"Nonsense! Can our Marine be like those pirates?"
Sengoku was annoyed.
"Sengoku, do you disagree?"
Garp asked little seriously.
Sengoku looked at Garp as if an idiot: "Of course we disagree. How could marine set up a marine intern for a 10-year-old kid that we have never had before?! Garp, don't you hear yourself speaking? ?"
Garp stuffed a piece of doughnut into his mouth and glanced strangely at Sengoku behind the table: "Fortunately, I still said a lot of good things about marine in front of that kid. If he doesn't join marine in the future, Sengoku, you can't regret it."
"I will regret it? As Marine fleet admiral have I ever regretted any decision I made?"
Sengoku got up and patted the table and spoke to Garp annoyed : "It's you who gets me a mountain load of work to do all day by your stunts. There was only a ten-day vacation for you to go back to see your grandson and you spent more than a month like nothing . And now you're bringing a kid who popped up suddenly to change the rules of Marine and ask marine to learn from pirates to take interns like their apprentices..."
Garp dug his nose and said, "It's not like anything big happened when I was not here."
Sengoku almost burst because of anger, he rushed out from behind the table, grabbed the donuts in Garp's hand and poured them all into his mouth.
"Ah, my donut... Sengoku you bastard!"
Garp looked at the empty bag and clenched his fists.
"Hurry up and catch pirates, Vice Admiral Garp."
Sengoku glanced at him furiously.
"Since you don't want promotion , you should do your duties as vice admiral."
"No way?"
The two eyes collided.
Garp snorted and walked towards the door.
Before walking out of the door, he stopped, turned his head and glanced at Sengoku behind the table:
"I had a fight with that Blaze kid."
"Oh? So what."
Sengoku didn't lift his head.
"So I know his strength." Garp dugged his nose and said, "He's not a devil fruit user but his strength is definitely not weaker than logia fruit user Smoker who just graduated from Marine College this year."
Sengoku, who was about to process the document, suddenly stood up from behind the table, looking at Garp with a surprised expression on his face:
"Garp, what did you just say?"
"Did you not hear what I said?"
Garp dug his nose, turned his head and glanced at the surprised Sengoku behind him with a smile. "Why, your ears don't work well since you are getting older?"
"You said that kid is not weaker than Smoker?!"
Sengoku couldn't care less about Garp and asked anxiously.
"Yeah"
Garp inserted his hands into his pants and looked sideways at Sengoku with a grin:
"And he is only 10 years old this year, Sengoku, you should know what that means..."
Sengoku's eyes gradually widened and he was tempted.
Smoker, as a logia fruit user and a disciple of Zephyr, is already one of the most outstanding student in his class of Marine school.
And now...
A 10-year-old kid with a clean resume and without any devil fruit can actually have the strength comparable to him!
If this is true...
"Garp, can you make sure what you say is true?"
Sengoku looked serious.
"Do you think the old man would be joking about this kind of thing?"
Garp, who was standing at the door with his back facing him, looked at him sideways.
"I don't think so."
Sengoku took a deep breath, calmed his surprised heart and then looked at Garp and said seriously:
"What's the kid's name?"
"Blaze."
"umm."
Sengoku looked serious and said: "As marine fleet admiral, I agree to let him be our marine intern."
"Bwahaha! Didn't someone say that they would never change marine's rules for a 10-year-old kid?"
Garp turned to look at Sengoku and laughed.
"Idiot! Who told you not to make it clear in advance!"
Annoyed, Sengoku picked up a document on the desk and smashed it at Garp, which was caught directly by Garp.
After Sengoku sat down, he couldn't help but ask:
"When will the child come?"
"About the beginning of spring next year, I just taught him Haki's practice methods and he said that he would learn it before coming here."
Garp didn't know where he took out another bag of donuts and said as he ate it.
"You are too impatient..."
Sengoku couldn't help sighing when he heard his words and put his hands on his forehead.
"If this kid doesn't want to be a Marine after a year and turns to become a pirate, didn't you teach him Haki to make him stronger?"
"Bwahaha, don't worry Sengoku, I have already asked. Even if that kid doesn't become a marine, he won't be a pirate."
Garp ate the donuts and said, "I can assure you about this, otherwise I would not have taught him."
"I hope it's as you said."
