One Piece : Winged Dragons of the Beast Pirates

Chapter 7: Chapter 6 : Erya!!

His own attack was full of energy, but ultimately, it was entirely ineffective.

Ian wasn't surprised by this outcome.

Kaido's physique is nothing short of monstrous, and with the added defense from the Azure Dragon Fruit, even Luffy's Gear Fourth onslaught couldn't penetrate his defenses.

His physical durability far surpasses Ian's.

Punches and kicks have no effect at all, even with the significant strength boost from the Winged Dragon Fruit.

At this moment, without being able to use Advanced Armament Haki, Ian can only rely on his flames to inflict some damage. After all, Kaido's defenses lean heavily towards physical resistance, unlike the Lunarians. As long as he masters Advanced Armament Haki, he can pierce through these defenses.

But for Kaido, these minor injuries are just superficial scratches.

Not even real injuries.

"What a letdown,"

Kaido casually crushed the charred remains of the shattered wine gourd in his hand, before finally raising his massive kanabo. "Well, since there's no more sake, you two brats should be ready by now, right?"

Ian took a deep breath, knowing that the most dreaded part was about to begin.

Up next was the main event of their daily training.

Yamato's expression grew serious as she raised her own kanabo, holding it defensively in front of her. "Bring it on, Father! I won't back down!"

"Hah! Yamato! Let's see if you really won't back down!"

Ian's eyes could barely keep up as Kaido's massive figure instantly appeared in front of Yamato, his pitch-black kanabo tearing through the air.

Bang!

With a thunderous crash, Yamato let out a pained cry as she was sent flying skyward.

Ian watched with a tingling scalp.

Every time he witnessed this, it felt beyond absurd.

Is this how a father should treat his daughter?

"I…"

Yamato crashed to the ground, blood dripping from her head, but she still struggled to stand. "I'm not afraid!"

Kaido merely glanced at his daughter before turning his gaze toward Ian. "This girl won't be getting back up anytime soon. Next, it's your turn, kid."

Ian's expression stiffened. He immediately crossed his arms in front of his chest, his broad wings wrapping protectively around his body, as flames erupted around him.

Before the wind could even react, Kaido appeared directly in front of Ian as if he had teleported, raising his iron club high above his head.

He's so fast!

There's no way to dodge!

Bang!

With a sound like a baseball player hitting a perfect home run, Ian was sent flying by Kaido's iron club. He literally flew through the air like a baseball.

In fact, he really did turn into a ball—a golden sphere.

However, this sphere had a face on its surface, a face twisted in pain and fear.

It hurts!!

Despite the Sphere Mode providing defense that could rival Charlotte Linlin's, it wasn't enough to withstand the force of Kaido's iron club.

Even though Kaido hadn't used Haki, the excited grin on his face as he swung the club showed he was dead serious.

In the next moment, the golden sphere cracked, revealing Ian's new form.

His limbs had thickened, each one encased in fragments of cracked eggshells that looked like shields. Two larger eggshell fragments on his back had transformed into new wings, making him look like a shapeshifting warrior.

Winged Dragon of Ral Sphere Mode: Human-Beast Mode!

He sacrificed all mobility to push his defense to the absolute limit.

Ian crashed down, slamming into the ground with tremendous force.

Above him, Kaido descended like a meteorite, roaring, "Hmph, gurgle! Whether it's defending, dodging, or fighting back, give it everything you've got, little gremlin!!"

"Until I've had my fun!"

With a thunderous roar, the iron club smashed down through the air.

Ian crossed his arms, bringing the eggshell shields together to form a solid defense, like a Battle Tyrannosaurus Beast turning into a full shield.

Rumble!!

Thunder roared through the air as the earth shook violently. Rocks flew in all directions, and the ground was smashed into a massive crater, nearly breaking through the dome of Onigashima.

"This hurts like hell!"

In the swirling dust at the bottom of the enormous crater, Ian grimaced in pain. His arm was undoubtedly fractured, perhaps even shattered.

"What incredible strength!"

Clearly, Moria's attack had been infused with Armament Haki, but it seemed to have no effect on Ian in his Sphere Mode. However, there was one major advantage to this form besides its defense.

His broken arm was rapidly healing, and the pain was fading away.

Before Ian could get back on his feet, a monstrous roar blew the smoke away.

"Hoo hoo hoo! Compared to Yamato, you're much more fun to beat up, kid!!"

The iron club came crashing down again.

So, this must be a training session, right? It can't just be child abuse, can it?

Yeah, after this training, I should probably make a run for it.

Sky Island sounds nice—those disputes in the Blue Sea wouldn't reach there.

BOOM!

Onigashima trembled from the impact.

"Ugh!"

Ian groaned as he was sent flying again like a cannonball, tracing a graceful arc through the air before crashing into several small rocky mountains. He finally came to a halt on the ground.

Every bone in his body felt like it was about to shatter.

Ian lay on his back, gasping for breath.

There was no one else who could endure this—constantly getting injured, yet constantly healing.

I'm starting to understand Kaneki's (From Tokyo Ghoul) pain.

"Ian!"

At that moment, a pair of small feet appeared in his field of vision.

Ian turned his head slightly and saw a familiar face, bruised and swollen.

Yamato stood up once again.

"Huh?"

Kaido-sensei, wielding an iron club, raised an eyebrow slightly.

"I can still fight!"

Her voice was loud and resolute.

Ian didn't have a chance to react.

Yamato had already charged toward Kaido-sensei.

Despite her limp and the heavy drag of her mace, she declared loudly, "I will become stronger than you, Father! Until then, no matter what, I won't give up!"

Kaido-sensei just chuckled. Ian could sense it—he was amused.

With a grin full of excitement, the monstrous figure raised his iron club high. "Then come, give it a try!"

Without hesitation, the iron club came crashing down.

Bang.

There was no time to say anything. This time, it was Yamato's turn to be sent flying like a cannonball.

Ian had just managed to sit up when he saw Yamato, who had fallen not far away.

This time, she really couldn't get up.

Does she think she has the same durability as I do?

But still, Kaido-sensei doesn't hold back. He's merciless.

Ian staggered to his feet.

It's clear that it's still too early to consider someone of Kaido-sensei's level as an opponent.

Just the thought of facing him is enough to drain your will to fight.

Ian looked up.

Bright red and golden flames erupted simultaneously from his body, causing it to melt away until only the flames remained.

"Hmm… Got everything out? Then come at me, brat!"

The monstrous laughter echoed around him.

Later…

"It hurts."

Kaido looked down at Ian, who lay motionless on the ground. Stroking the burn on his chest, he burst into laughter. "Hmm, haha! What a reckless move!"

Time flew by, and three years passed.

In the capital of Wano Country, a city known as the Flower Capital…

"What is that?"

The inhabitants of the Flower Capital gaped at a creature they had never seen before.

It was a giant, as tall as a mountain, with sharp teeth, enormous horns protruding from its head, bright red hair, and a massive spiked mace. Its upper body resembled that of a legendary demon.

But the lower body was even more astonishing.

The lower body, also red, resembled that of a horse, with four legs—like a centaur!

A centaur demon!

Or rather, a gigantic demon standing fifty or sixty meters tall!

As it walked through the streets of the Flower Capital, the ground trembled slightly under its weight, and the low houses around it barely reached its calves. Civilians fled in terror wherever it passed.

"Quack, quack!"

The giant was delighted by the fear it induced, letting out a strange laugh.

"You're so noisy, Erya. Haven't we arrived yet, Ian?"

Atop the giant's head, a little white-haired girl sat up, rubbing her eyes.

A little boy sat beside her, gazing lazily at the massive tree at the end of the street and the castle tower built atop it. He yawned.

"It looks like we're here, Erya. Lean over."

"Quack!"

The giant began to pick up speed.
