The training ground of the Naval Academy buzzed with tension as Garp, ever eager for excitement, joined the spectacle. Zefa, now standing opposite Satoru, exuded an aura of authority, though something darker seemed to bubble beneath his surface.
Students were conspicuously absent, their training areas cleared to allow these titans of strength the freedom to clash without restraint.
Zefa broke the silence.
"First rule: no defensive powers. Otherwise, I won't stand a chance."
Satoru grinned. "No worries, Master. I'll make sure you're convinced when I win."
Zefa's brow lifted in amusement. "Big words for someone so young."
The battle erupted without further delay. Zefa closed the distance in an instant, his arm cloaked in thick, blackened Armament Haki. His fist roared forward, yet Satoru vanished just as it struck, leaving behind a crater that shook the academy.
From the sidelines, Garp chuckled nervously. "Zefa's not holding back at all."
Satoru reappeared a few steps away, his tone playful. "Fast, but not fast enough, Master."
The ground trembled under the blows exchanged, the force sending shockwaves that echoed across the Navy Headquarters. Officers paused in alarm, wary after the previous Golden Lion incident, while others braced for an attack.
From the command building, Sengoku frowned. "Zefa and Satoru? Those two always find ways to stir trouble."
Lt. Tsuru added with a smirk, "I thought it'd be Garp this time."
As the battle continued, Zefa taunted Satoru, "Stop running, boy! Fight me head-on!"
Satoru replied with a confident grin, "Speed is also a strength, Master. Don't blame me if you can't keep up."
This exchange only fueled Zefa's resolve. His voice boomed. "If you're so confident, prove it!"
The clash intensified, with both combatants exchanging blows at speeds few could follow. But then, Zefa unleashed a side of himself Satoru hadn't anticipated. Ghostly energy began to emanate from Zefa's body, twisting the air around him.
"Surprised, Satoru?" Zefa asked with a grim smile. "This is ghost energy, born from countless battles where I faced death head-on. Do you understand now why even without Conqueror's Haki, I stand equal to Garp and Sengoku?"
His skin turned an eerie purple, and his presence became overwhelming. "Barrett may have popularized this power, but I was its first user. This is my 'Invincible Form.'"
Satoru's grin widened. "Master, you're full of surprises. But don't worry—I'll make sure you go all out before this is over."
The clash resumed with renewed intensity. Ghost energy enhanced Zefa's strikes, his every blow creating shockwaves that left the training ground in ruins. Satoru, however, responded in kind, his Overlord's Haki rippling through the air, sending cracks through the earth and buildings.
From the sidelines, Garp muttered, "These two are insane."
Meanwhile, Kuzan, Borsalino, and Sakazuki watched in awe.
"I never knew Teacher Zefa had this in him," Kuzan remarked.
"This is quite terrifying," Borsalino added with uncharacteristic seriousness.
Sengoku and Tsuru, watching from afar, exchanged nostalgic glances. Sengoku spoke, "This reminds me of the old days. Zefa, Garp, and I—unstoppable together."
Tsuru nodded. "It's been decades, but Zefa's spirit hasn't dimmed one bit."
The fight wore on, each clash draining their reserves. Zefa's ghost energy began to wane, while Satoru's stamina was tested as he unleashed powerful Black Flashes. Every collision crackled with black lightning, the sheer force of which caused Zefa to stagger.
Finally, Satoru saw his chance. His fist connected with Zefa's face, sending the veteran flying backward. Zefa crashed into the ground, reverting to his normal state.
The battle had ended.
Zefa sat up, wiping blood from his mouth. "You've won, Satoru. You've earned it."
The three Admirals stood in silent acknowledgment, their respect for Satoru solidified.
Zefa turned to them, his voice firm. "Now you see his strength. When the time comes, he won't falter."
As Satoru helped Zefa to his feet, the veteran grinned. "You've come a long way, kid. I'm proud of you."
And for the first time, Satoru felt the weight of his potential—and the expectations of those who believed in him.
