Chapter 247: Chapter 247: Disgust

Area B-2, Guest Interview Stage.

The host, Nakamura Haruna, sat uncomfortably in her seat.

Originally, there had been hundreds of spectators watching the interview, but due to a broadcast about the disappearance of the Yuehua necklace, the number suddenly dwindled to just a few dozen.

The vast majority of the audience had enthusiastically flocked to Hall C after hearing the broadcast.

Although the radio had reminded them to remain calm—

After all, thieves who steal valuable items are likely to be dangerous—

The reminder in the broadcast seemed to have no effect on the excited spectators.

Because they all knew what the broadcast meant—

Finally, Kaitou Kid has appeared!

The majority of the young visitors had come to see Kaitou Kid, knowing that he wouldn't harm anyone.

So, as long as they could reach Hall C a minute earlier, they might get to witness Kaitou Kid in action.

This thought crossed the minds of many, and they all rushed towards Hall C.

---

The staff stationed at the entrances and exits of each hall quickly reacted upon seeing the excited fans of Kaitou Kid swarming Hall C.

If this continued, Hall C would soon be overwhelmed by these fervent fans.

As a result, not only the security staff but also the criminal investigators from the Second Investigative Division wouldn't be able to pursue the thief successfully.

If anything unexpected occurred, there was a high risk of a stampede.

---

Unfortunately, the venue staff lacked experience dealing with such situations, so their response was slow.

By the time they realized and decided to close the doors to prevent more visitors from entering, a significant number of people had already flooded into Hall C.

It was too late to close the doors by then, so all they could do was shout loudly:

"Entry to Guild Hall C is prohibited!"

But, unfortunately, their warnings had no effect.

---

Nakamura Haruna turned to Tsukino Takashi, whose expression was grim, and asked, "Do you want to continue the interview program, Mr. Tsukino?"

"They've all left. Who are you planning to show it to?"

Tsukino Takashi said as he stood up, turned around, and left the stage.

Anyone could hear the anger in his tone.

---

This time, no matter what happened, the Tsukino Consortium had been utterly humiliated.

They had sworn that the security around the Scarlet Shadow Heart would be impeccable.

Yet, in the end, Kaitou Kid's target wasn't the Scarlet Shadow Heart at all.

---

At the same time, an interview program featuring Tsukino Takashi himself couldn't even compete with the allure of a thief stealing from others.

These combined factors only fueled Tsukino Takashi's rage.

---

Akikawa Kyousuke remained seated among the guests, silently observing Tsukino Takashi.

He could tell that Tsukino Takashi's anger wasn't feigned—he was genuinely furious about what had happened.

However, Tsukino Takashi's reactions, words, and actions still made Akikawa Kyousuke aware of certain inconsistencies.

---

Just as Akikawa Kyousuke shifted his gaze away from Tsukino Takashi, he noticed Seto Rin, a junior student nearby, suddenly stand up.

After glancing to confirm that Tsukino Takashi had left, she quickly left her seat and rushed toward the audience.

"Miss Seto, where are you going?"

Nakamura Haruna asked.

"Where else could she be going? She's just like the others who couldn't control themselves upon hearing about the thief."

The elderly professor, Matsumoto Kenichi, sneered coldly.

Seto Rin glared at Matsumoto Kenichi, feeling a deep disgust for the old man whose rigid thoughts and views she found impossible to communicate with.

---

She didn't bother arguing with Matsumoto Kenichi. Instead, she quickly stepped off the stage and ran toward Hall C.

With Tsukino Takashi, the centerpiece of the interview program, and the guest Seto Rin gone, there was no way the interview could continue.

---

Host Nakamura Haruna was actually a fan of Kaitou Kid, but due to her public figure status, she couldn't show it directly.

Now that it was confirmed the interview program couldn't proceed, she found an excuse to leave the stage and began walking toward Hall C.

Matsumoto Kenichi watched as Nakamura Haruna left and was momentarily stunned.

After a moment, he suddenly realized what was happening.

---

"So, she's also a fan of that thief. Earlier, she was pretending to be unable to accept Kaitou Kid's actions, huh?"

Matsumoto Kenichi snorted, stood up, and left the stage.

However, the elderly professor, who had always despised Kaitou Kid, didn't walk toward Hall C but in a completely different direction.

---

At this point, only Akikawa Kyousuke and Amuro Toru remained on the stage.

Amuro Toru stood up and approached Akikawa Kyousuke's seat.

"Akikawa-kun, aren't you going to Hall C to join the fun?"

"I think I'll pass. For one, I don't like Kaitou Kid."

Akikawa Kyousuke said.

---

"But don't young people these days admire Kaitou Kid? Especially this one, who's both mischievous and charming, always managing to outwit the police."

Amuro Toru said to Akikawa Kyousuke with a smile.

"Uh… I'd rather not. Like Mr. Amuro and Mr. Matsumoto, I can't condone Kaitou Kid's criminal behavior."

"Like today, he caused trouble for so many people and wasted so much police effort. It's really hard for people to respect him."

---

As Amuro Toru spoke, his sharp eyes closely observed Akikawa Kyousuke's reaction.

However, those keen eyes—capable of confronting any detective—couldn't detect the slightest trace of hypocrisy in Akikawa Kyousuke's gaze.

His eyes were as clear and sincere as the morning dew.

But the more sincerely Akikawa Kyousuke acted, the more ironic it seemed to Amuro Toru.

---

Thinking about what Akikawa Kyousuke had done, how he had killed Yuya Kazami, and then seeing the innocent expression Kyousuke was feigning at that moment, Amuro Toru felt an overwhelming disgust.

There was no point in further testing him.

---

Akikawa Kyousuke's artist persona was flawless.

If he hadn't glimpsed the ugly face beneath Kyousuke's mask, he might not have so easily detected the true nature of Akikawa Kyousuke.

---

Amuro Toru leaned closer to Akikawa Kyousuke, looking directly at the artist before him.

"Akikawa-kun, do you dare swear that what you just said is true?"

His voice remained soft, but there was no hint of a smile on his face.

---

"There's nothing to fear because that's exactly what I think."

Facing Amuro Toru, who had suddenly stopped smiling, Akikawa Kyousuke appeared slightly confused before speaking slowly.
