Chapter 115: Chapter 115: The Shock at Marine Headquarters

The next morning, after sending Jefferson and the two Marine officers away, Dalton immediately headed to Dr. Kureha's place.

Dalton didn't know exactly what happened at Wapol's castle last night, but he could tell something had changed with Wapol this morning.

It wasn't just Wapol. The two Marine Captains also looked off, and Dalton knew these changes had to be related to the Dream Team.

When Dalton arrived at Dr. Kureha's place, he found that only Dr. Kureha and Chopper were there.

At the moment, Dr. Kureha was teaching Chopper how to mix potions.

"Dr. Kureha, where are Ryuen-sama and the others?" Dalton asked.

"They went down the mountain. It seems like they're making a sea chart," Dr. Kureha looked at Dalton and replied. "Dalton, what's Wapol's reaction now?"

"Down the mountain?" Dalton replied.

"Oh, right~~~ I almost forgot. Ryuen-sama and the others came here to draw the map of Drum Island."

"Wapol seems really nervous now, even the Marines are acting strange, like they're afraid of something. But I didn't hear anything last night outside the castle."

"Dr. Kureha, do you know what Ryuuen-sama and the others did last night?" Dalton asked again.

"Heeheeheehee~~~"

"Making a sea chart? I understand now.

Dalton, if Wapol listens to you from now on, then you'll be in charge of Drum Island's matters."

Dr. Kureha fixed Dalton with a sharp gaze. "What would you do?"

"You mean Wapol will listen to me from now on? And I'll be in charge of Drum Island?"

"No, no~~~ I can't do that. And the problem is, Wapol won't listen to me," Dalton shook his head and said.

"Dalton, don't think about whether Wapol will listen to you. Just answer me this: if Drum Island's matters are given to you, do you think you can handle it?" Dr. Kureha looked at Dalton seriously.

Dalton froze for a moment. He suddenly realized that Dr. Kureha wasn't joking, and his expression became serious.

It must be something that Ryuuen-sama and the others did last night that caused Wapol to either listen to him or Dr. Kureha.

Dalton thought to himself.

But now, Dr. Kureha clearly didn't want to deal with Drum Island, and Dalton had never thought about managing it either.

"Dalton, no one understands the situation on Drum Island better than you. If you really want to improve it, why not try managing it yourself?" Dr. Kureha noticed Dalton's hesitation and gave him a reason.

In the past, she wouldn't have addressed Dalton like this, because he hadn't earned her trust.

However, after Dalton showed he was willing to seek Ryuen's help for Drum Island's future yesterday, Dr. Kureha had changed her opinion of him.

"Dr. Kureha, I need to think about it, is that okay?" Dalton still seemed a bit hesitant.

"Heeheeheehee~~~"

"Of course, but you need to decide quickly. The people of Drum Island are still suffering, and they desperately need your help," Dr. Kureha said with a smile.

She now understood Dalton's thoughts and believed he would agree.

"I understand, Dr. Kureha. I'll think about it seriously," Dalton replied earnestly.

Out on the sea near Drum Island, Tavi and Latteg still showed signs of fear. What happened last night made them feel like death would have been better.

On the other side, aboard the World Government's official ship, Jefferson felt the same way as Tavi and Latteg. Last night's experience was terrifying.

Ryuen's orders to Jefferson were different from those for Tavi and Latteg. Jefferson's orders were the same as usual: to act as if he knew nothing.

However, once Ryuen contacted him, Jefferson would have to serve Ryuen and his team. As for normal times, Ryuen wouldn't interfere.

As for the warships, Tavi and Latteg each sent a "loyalty pledge" to the Fleet Admiral's office at Marine Headquarters.

From now on, they would have to obey Marine Headquarters' orders without question.

"Tavi, is this really the only choice we have from now on?" Latteg asked, clearly unhappy.

"Tavi, do we have any other options right now? Or do you want to experience what happened last night again?" Tavi shot back.

Latteg's throat tightened, and he felt a pang of discomfort. His eyes immediately filled with fear.

Seeing this, Tavi couldn't help but look down on Latteg. He felt that Latteg was useless.

Tavi himself had come to terms with it. It was just switching masters, right? What's the difference who you work for?

As long as he could make Ryuuen-sama happy in the future, he would still be that Marine Captain admired by the common people for his sense of justice!

Ryuen had seen through the nature of these corrupt Marines. Those who were greedy and tried to please the Celestial Dragons were the ones most afraid of death!

They were different from those Marines with strong willpower. Those Marines truly believed in Marine justice and were even fanatical about it.

Kasso and the others were different. By holding their lives in his hands, it was easy to make them obey. Meanwhile, in Nami's alternate space, there was now a row of transparent cabinets.

These cabinets were divided into small sections, and four of them already contained hearts. More could be added in the future.

At Marine Headquarters in Marineford.

Fleet Admiral's aide, Branew, rushed into Sengoku's office, holding two documents.

"Why are you in such a hurry? What happened?" Sengoku stopped writing and looked at Branew, confused.

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku, you should see these two documents. They're hard to believe!" Branew said, sounding doubtful.

"Oh?"

Sengoku's curiosity was piqued by Branew's expression. He took the documents and started reading them carefully.

"What's this?"

"These two traitors say they'll fully obey Marine Headquarters from now on? What's going on?" Sengoku stood up suddenly after reading the documents. His expression was full of suspicion. It was clear he didn't believe what was written.

"I don't know. The classified room just received them. As soon as I saw them, I brought them straight to you, Fleet Admiral Sengoku," Branew replied quickly.

"Call Vice Admiral Tsuru, Vice Admiral Garp, and the Admirals at the headquarters to come here," Sengoku said slowly as he sat back down.

"Yes!"

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku!" Branew saluted and immediately went to notify the senior officers.

A few minutes later, the high-ranking Marines arrived at the Fleet Admiral's conference room and had read the documents.

"Have you all finished reading them?"

"Let's hear your thoughts. Do you think this is real? Can we trust them?" Sengoku asked seriously.

"I don't trust them," Admiral Akainu said sternly. "You can't teach an old dog new tricks! Trusting them might only make us more vulnerable in the future."

At that moment, Branew came in with more news. "Fleet Admiral Sengoku, there's news from the prison. Rear Admiral Kasso says he will fully obey Marine Headquarters from now on!"

"What?"

"Kasso is going to obey Marine Headquarters too? What's going on?" Fleet Admiral Sengoku exclaimed in shock.

Even the other senior officers were surprised. Kasso, too? He wanted to defect and join them?

"I understand now. This has to be related to those young ones, especially Ryuen!" Vice Admiral Tsuru quickly connected the dots, recalling Kasso's previous surrender. She realized what was happening.
