Plundering Everything I Want

Chapter 14: Mission World

[Ding! Reincarnation Mission for Another World is Available.]

[Do you want to enter the reincarnation world?]

[Please make your choice within 30 seconds, or it will be considered a rejection.]

Three notification panels flashed in front of Tristan, one after another. Though taken aback, he kept his composure. His face displayed only mild surprise as he quickly questioned the system in his mind:

'What happens if I reject the mission?'

[Reply to host: There is no penalty for rejection. The system will simply wait for another mission to appear and notify you again.]

'I see. And what will happen to this world while I'm away?'

[Time in this world will be frozen until your return.]

Tristan exhaled in relief. Knowing time would stop here calmed his nerves. There was little time left, so he rapidly fired off more questions.

'Will I travel there with my body or just my soul? Also, can you tell me what world I'm going to? What happens if I die there?'

[If the host dies in the mission world, your physical body here will perish, and you will lose the system permanently. Time in this world will resume as if nothing had happened.]

[In the next life, your soul will retain its memories. However, you will always be stuck in the mission world.]

[You will only learn about the world itself once you accept the mission.]

There was a possibility of dying and being eternally trapped, but that was no excuse for Tristan to back down like a coward. If he continued to chicken out like this every time, he would never be able to get stronger.

'Got it. Well, that settles it—I accept.'

[Confirmation received.]

[Beep! Host is not yet a member of the Land of Death. Using pass to create a temporary identity.]

[Ding! Forging successful. Host's identity as a Reincarnator has been established.]

[You are now a Special Reincarnator.]

[Special Reincarnator: You are a Reincarnator awakened in a plot world. You cannot remain in the Land of Death's worlds for extended periods. Your stay duration varies depending on the world.]

[According to the host's memories, the next mission world is called the world of the movie SAW 2. Your time there cannot exceed three days.]

[Due to your special identity, you cannot receive missions and use the shop provided by the Land of Death.]

[As compensation, you will receive a gift package and a one-time basic lottery.]

Even though he was upset about not being able to use Shop, the mention of a gift package brought a grin to Tristan's face. He immediately gave the command in his mind.

'Open the gift package first.'

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for receiving the "Essence of Earnest Grace."]

——————————————

[Essence of Earnest Grace]

Introduction: The Essence of Earnest Grace is a rare perfume that, when applied, subtly alters the wearer's aura, making them appear more sincere and trustworthy to those around them. The effect is particularly potent on women, doubling its influence.

Activation: A single spray on the skin is enough. The effect begins immediately upon contact.

Limitations: The perfume's effects last for 6 hours and can only be used once per day. If the wearer engages in overt lies or manipulations, the effect quickly diminishes. Frequent use may arouse suspicion.

——————————————

[The Essence of Earnest Grace has been stored in system storage and can be accessed at any time.]

"Damn," Tristan muttered, eyes widening as he examined the system's gift. His heart raced, and he felt a little giddy.

For a pervert like him—someone who loved to decieve women—this perfume was practically a godsend. It aligned perfectly with his Ecstasy Heart Sutra, making the execution of his future plans that much easier.

If the gift was this good, he could only imagine what the lottery might hold. His anticipation soared as he ordered excitedly in his mind:

'System, start the lottery!'

A large roulette wheel materialized in front of him, spinning so fast he couldn't make out any details. After a tense few moments, it gradually slowed, finally stopping at a specific item.

[Congratulations to the host for obtaining a plot-specific cancer treatment potion. This item can only be used in the next mission world.]

The message caused Tristan's eyes to twitch in frustration.

A cancer treatment potion? Useless... No-wait!

Suddenly, when the story of SAW 2 crossed his mind, a wicked grin spread across his face. It wasn't ideal, but in that world, it might still have its uses.

He shrugged off the initial disappointment, smirked, and silently exclaimed:

'Alright then, let's go.'

[Confirmation received.]

[You must periodically participate in the reincarnation world to maintain your new identity.]

Before Tristan could continue to think, a bright flash of white light engulfed him, drawing his consciousness into another world.

When he opened his eyes again, Tristan discovered that he was in a police station, and his identity was also that of a policeman, exactly as in Raccoon City.

[Mission initiated: Investigate the most recent, high-profile murder case, identify the culprit, and survive until the other Reincarnators arrive and complete their missions.]

[Reward: 1,000 points.]

[Warning: If other Reincarnators find out who you really are, they will hunt you down.]

[There is no penalty for mission failure.]

Tristan nearly scoffed at the last line. 'No penalty?'

Failing in a survival mission like this could only mean death.

Regarding the investigation, he was already aware that The Jigsaw Killer was the mastermind behind the murders—this was, after all, the world of Saw 2.

Still, something about the situation struck him. He took a deep breath, pushing himself to think carefully. He remembered from various novels with the 'Main God Space' troupe that Reincarnators usually travel in their physical bodies. And because his transmission came earlier than theirs, he began to piece it together.

'I'm considered an aboriginal of this world...'

His lips curled into a smirk. Because he was a native, the other Reincarnators would see him as just another NPC, which gave him a hidden advantage.

There was no need to struggle with the same limitations they would face. All he had to do was wait and stay hidden.

But Tristan wasn't one to just sit around and wait. He would use every opportunity to exploit this world, squeezing it for all it was worth.

As for being hunted by Reincarnators after being found out?

First, there was almost practically no possibility for them to find out about him unless he exposed himself on his own.

Secondly, they were in the light, while he was in the dark.

In the end, who was going to hunt for whom?

'Hehehe.'

Tristan laughed sinisterly in his heart, and a police officer—broad-shouldered and clad in uniform—approached him with a stack of documents.

"Hey, Tristan. It looks like we've been handed the toughest case again. Damn it. Anyway, what do you think of this?"

"Let me take a look," Tristan replied with a smile, already processing the other officer's identity. He flipped open the folder, immediately recognizing several crime scene photos.

'Just as I thought... this is straight out of Saw 2.'

The gruesome scenes, the style of murder—it was Jigsaw, no doubt.

Tristan's mind raced, piecing things together. With the case's direction clear, he formulated his next move.

"We'll figure it out eventually. I'm going to check the archives to see if it connects to any other cases." Without waiting for a response, he got up and headed for the records room.

Accessing the archives made things even easier. With Jigsaw's real name in his memory, Tristan swiftly retrieved files linking him and found out detailed information about him.

'If my guess is right, I think I know what the other Reincarnators' mission is. Heh, this is going to be fun.'

Grinning to himself, Tristan wasted no time. He drove straight to an address he already knew—the home of someone crucial to his plan.

Jigsaw's ex-wife!
