Pokémon: A Reincarnated Tale

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Fossil Restoration

"So this is an Old Amber, huh? Its color reminds me of Sapphire.", Serena asked.

"Right? And this is an Old Amber no less. Fossils are quite rare, and they contain genes of ancient Pokemon that once roamed the world we currently live in. With the proper tools, fossils can be restored into said Pokemon. I started to explain as Serena and Lillie saw the oval piece of amber currently in my hands.

"A Pokemon truly can come out of this?", Lillie asked in interest.

"That's right. Fossils truly are ennnnchanting, aren't they~?", A sudden voice said, calling out to us. Serena blinked at this sudden voice.

After having our three gym battles over the last three days, we decided to spend a few days in Pewter City to have some fun. It was now Jan 20th, 2010. We spent these few days having fun in Pewter City, and stocked up on goods for our next big segment, which would be Mount Moon. And now, we had one final place to visit, which was the place we were in front of, well the entranceway to the large museum, the Pewter Museum of Science.

We could see several people hanging around or going in. From the looks of it they often liked to do live exhibitions bringing in visitors from all around to view their findings, as well as natural habitats for a certain kind of Pokemon. Fossil Pokemon!

And in my hands as we were off to the side, was the Old Amber given to us by Brock once we had our three gym battles. He was adamant on giving it to us since we couldn't take him along our journey, he would have to wait about a half a year before Ash starts his journey. We made sure we were out of the other visitor's way when I took the Old Amber out.

Unfortunately for us three, we were soon disturbed by that weird sounding voice. Not too far off in the distance, we saw a literal tornado spinning right at us. Or at least it was a figure disguising themselves as a tornado, for spinning so rapidly that it created one. In no time at all did this figure arrive by our side and his spinning stopped.

Upon a closer look, this figure was an aged man, with a pudgy appearance. He wore a pale blue vest with a grey undershirt, and had what looked like to be a miner cap on his head, with goggles over the miner cap. He also had a rather thick beard as well, and each time we saw his eyes, it was as if they sparkled every time.

"Umm, who might you be?", Lillie asked, seeing this new person arrive at our side. He was keenly observing the Old Amber we had in my hands too. Unfortunately for Lillie her question was ignored, as this weird person began to speak once more.

"Fossils are living records of history, dating back to hundreds of thousands of years, potentially even millions of years. They are filled with enchantment~", the weird man responded, ignoring Lillie.

"Okay...?", Serena also asked, becoming even more confused.

Seeing this person, I couldn't help but laugh.

"Haha, I didn't think we would get to meet the president of the Pewter Museum so soon.", I replied, drawing their interest.

"That's right. I am indeed the president of Pewter's Museum of Science. You can call me President if you'd like, Professor Itsuki."

"Wait, this guy is the President of this place?", Serena asked in surprise.

"Is it that surprising? But what makes you come out here, President?", I asked the President. (A/N: He literally calls himself President, I don't think he has an actual name)

"Well I recently finished another excavation back in the vast desert region of Unova, and now I'm back here to check up on things. There was news of some upcoming Professors here in Kanto, and you were one of them, Professor Itsuki. I didn't we'd cross paths today, let alone you carrying a fossil on your hands.", the President replied, returning to more normal tone.

"So you are interested in the Old Amber I have in my hands." I answered. "Hmm, well we came here with the intent to resurrect this fossil, but I am unsure if this facility has the tools to do so.

"Hoho, well you're in luck then, Professor Itsuki. This Old Amber you have is in pristine condition. In such situations, it is more than likely for the fossil to restore itself to its past glory.", the President responded with a smile. He then turned toward Serena and Lillie, only to speak out once more.

"Well? Do you two understand how fossils are truly enccchanting, now~?", the President said as his eyes sparkled.

"They sure do sound interesting.", Serena replied with a nod.

"There are many different types of fossils too right?", Lillie also asked while nodding her head.

"There are. Are you saying you have the equipment to restore fossils, President?", I asked him.

"I do. It is my own private facility. It is normally not open to the public. But for a Professor like yourself, I am more than happy to open it for you.", the President answered.

"Haha, great! We have yet to tour the Museum either, do you truly have a live exhibit of ancient Pokemon that once roamed our lands long ago?", I asked again.

"It's getting there, but we do public tours every so often. You can check in with the receptionists for for passes if you would like to see it. We have both an indoor and outside exhibition.", the President answered.

"Of course we should go get some tickets!", Serena clapped her hands happily.

"But isn't our main focus the Old Amber?", Lillie asked.

"Haha, it is, but who says we can't have some fun here?"

"Hoho, that's part of the reason why we opened the Museum, it is for visitors to enjoy the history we have. And your Old Amber is truly something. It is said it is ancient tree resin, and over countless millennia, it would turn into stone, which results in what you have right now. The genes of an era we once knew is stored inside of it.", the President explained to us.

"I see. I have a feeling of what may pop out of it once it gets restored too.", I said.

"It's a good thing you have it of this pristine state. Through fossils like these, we can restore them with far more accuracy than other fossils could hope to achieve!", the President said with sparkles in his yes.

"Shall we give it a go then?", I asked.

"Of course. Leave the enccchanting to me~", the President replied, full of confidence.

And just like that, Serena, Lille, the President and I entered the Museum. After the receptionists welcomed us, we went straight into the President's private facility, and sure enough if was a lab of his own. Except his lab was more suited to that of restoring fossils than what Professor Oak's lab looked like. Let's see what lays inside this Old Amber!

This week was my end of month work, and it is over!

If you guys played the games or watched the anime, then you guys should likely guess what will come out of the Old Amber. Hint: it is a very noisy bird.

It's a new week again, don't forget to drop those power stones!
