Pokemon: Arceus' Champion

Chapter 26: The Morning After

My eyes shot open as the sun peeked through the curtains of the window in our room, my internal alarm alerting me to the start of a new day. Unlike every other day until now though, I wasn't alone in my bed.

Though we had sadly been interrupted the night before, I still awoke to a naked Dawn and May snuggling up to my sides as they slept soundly. Wether it was their soft and smooth skin pressed up against my own, or their peaceful expressions as they slept, I couldn't tear my gaze away from the amazing picturesque scene before me.

And while I wanted nothing more than to stay in bed with my lovely girlfriends, I had to start the day.

With a great feat of will, I forced myself to slowly and carefully get up from the two girl's clutches without waking them. And though it took several minutes, I was soon free of the warmth and comfort of their bodies, and was instead standing naked in the room filled with the morning chill.

I quickly remedied that by pulling my workout clothes and equipment from my bag, which was sitting beside my Charmander egg, and dressed myself quietly before exiting the room as Dawn's Shinx followed me.

As I walked down the hall I was greeted in a friendly manner by the few people that had also gotten up this early, many of which also thanked me for my actions the night before. Though I greeted them back, I just waved away their thanks and praises since my actions weren't that big a deal to me.

When I arrived at the room where the fight had taken place though, I had to stifle a laugh when I saw the scene that waiting for me.

All of the Pokemon had gathered around either Tropius or Miltank as the two largest Pokemon present, but sitting there with his back to Tropius' stomach was Riolu, with Piplup and Torchic both snuggled up to him.

"Comfortable?" I asked my partner with a snicker, making him glower at me from my amusement. A short ways away from them was Glameow with a sizable bump on its head, making me think that it had once again tried to turn the flightless bird-like Pokemon into a snack, before Riolu stepped in and dealt with it.

Too bad I didn't have my Pokenav yet, otherwise I could've taken a few pictures to send to mom and give the girls.

Unable to do so, I could only wake them up so Riolu could train with me, which in turn woke the rest of the Pokemon as well. And once they were all awake, I told my team,

"Riolu and I are going to start our daily warmups. I want the three of you to join in so I can see what I'm working with." While Squirtle saluted energetically and Miltank pumped her hooves to psyche herself up, Treecko seemingly just scoffed at me indifferently, but I could tell through his aura that he was genuinely interested. Look at my little tsundere grass gecko.

Of course, none of them knew what they were in for as Riolu and I led them through a series of 'warmups' before running a few dozen or so laps around the large arena-like room. By the time we finished Riolu and I well awake and energized, while the other three were huffing and puffing as they all collapsed where they stopped.

"Don't worry, soon that'll be nothing and we can start the REAL work with actual equipment." As I said that I lifted my shirt to show off my weighted vest while Riolu did the same with his training equipment, making Miltank, Squirtle and even Treecko look up at us in fear.

"Do you see that?"

"What a monster..."

"No wonder he managed to knock an Arbok out in a single hit..."

Ignoring the comments being uttered around us, I waited a few minutes for my Pokemon to catch their breath before we started the next round. My goal today wasn't to seriously work them just yet, but just to see what they were and weren't capable of doing so I could figure out a proper training regimen for each of them in the future.

So as Riolu and I made the three of them go through a series of exercises I made sure to note down everything I could, such as how many reps and sets they could do. Of course, each one of them were different and required different types of training to truly maximize their skills, which only made me smile wider as I thought of turning all of them, even my little dairy cow, into absolute monsters once I found the right way to train them.

The entire time May and Dawn's Pokemon were watching from the side in amusement, while only a couple like Torchic seemed interested in joining in, until I said to them with a sinister smile,

"Don't worry. I'm sure May and Dawn will be more than happy to let all of you join in here soon enough."

In an instant their amusement turned to fear, with only a few like Torchic feeling more motivated instead. I smirked at the sudden shift before calling an end to my group's training, right as a Nurse Joy emerged from a pair of doors that led to the kitchen while pushing a large cart.

"Breakfast time!" She cried out so that everyone heard her, prompting every single Pokemon to look directly at her as she made her rounds delivering bowls of Pokemon food to them.

"Thank you." I told her sincerely when she got to us, to which she replied with a heartwarming smile,

"Of course! We're supposed to give both trainer and Pokemon a chance to relax when they need it, so don't be afraid to rely on us when you need it!"

For a moment the two of us chatted as she in turn thanked me for acting the night before, before returning to the kitchens to prepare the next round of food. As I watched her ass sway with each step though, I suddenly felt a chill from behind me that I turned back to check, only to see no one there. Not even their aura.

"Ri?" Riolu asked me curiously.

"Nothing, just thought I felt something."

I spent a few minutes trying to figure out if I'd been imagining if there was someone there or not, when a couple of voices cried out,

""Good morning Ace!""

I looked up to see my two lovely girlfriends approaching me, sadly dressed, but still breathtakingly beautiful nonetheless.

"Good morning, did the two of you sleep well?" I asked.

"Yes, the beds in the Pokemon Center are really comfortable." Dawn said with a smile, before May smirked as she asked,

"Are you sure it was the beds, and not WHO was in the bed with us?" Dawn's entire face immediately turned red at that, which I found amusing considering she had bared herself to me right before we were interrupted by Team Rocket.

"Let's see about some breakfast!" Dawn exclaimed to hide her embarrassment, though I did agree when my stomach decided to roar its affirmative in that moment.

"The two of us agree." I said once the growling subsided, making both girls stare at me in dumbfoundment before they both busted up laughing.

"Maybe we should find a Nurse Joy to get our breakfast." May said with a smirk, to which I shook my head while saying,

"Nope, I want to have a breakfast date. Theres a nice little diner not far from here."

I then led the two girls to a place I'd go to every now and then whenever I came to Viridian in the past, a mom-and-pop place where the older couple who ran it recognized me after coming in several times.

They, along with several of their other regular patrons, greeted me the moment the three of us walked in, while several of them tried to tease me about May and Dawn, as this was the first time I'd brought a girl with me in here. While I was immune to their teasing though, Dawn and even May both turned red as numerous men and women threw comments about us around, and they grew even more embarrassed when I introduced them as my future wives.

The teasing aside, both girls couldn't believe how good the food was when our breakfast arrived, to the point where I promised we would come back whenever we returned to Viridian. And when we had finished eating we left to return to the Pokemon Center, arriving just in time for me to collect the packages I ordered the night before.

"Nice!" I exclaimed as I looked over the numerous goods. Though it all cost me a pretty penny, especially the Pokenav, I still had plenty of money saved up that was left over from what I got from Giana, my years of working for professor Oak, and what I'd earned from my numerous battles when I came to Viridian.

Along with the Pokenav I had ordered enough food to keep us and our Pokemon well fed as we traveled to Pewter city, where the first Gym was, a surplus of medicinal items, a few new pieces of training equipment for my team, and some miscellaneous items for staying outdoors, along with pails and bottles for milking Miltank.

It was already past ten when I finished packing it all into my bag after paying for it, and it was about time we were off since I wanted to get into the Viridian Forest today, and find a decent spot to camp.

"You girls ready?" I asked May and Dawn.

"Yep!"

"Of course!"

"Torchic!"

"Piplup!"

"Ri!"

With everyone giving their affirmation I turned to leave, my mind briefly wandering to a certain tomboy who I hadn't seen all morning, but I just figured she hadn't accepted my invitation when a voice cried out behind us,

"HEY!"

Both May and Dawn turned to see who it was, while I just smiled wryly as I turned to face my brother, who had apparently just gotten up since he was still wearing his pajamas.

"Aniki! Before you leave I challenge you!" I arched a brow when I heard that.

"Oh? You sure about that little brother?" I asked him with a predatory grin, to which Ash nodded resolutely as he stated,

"Yes! We've both got some Pokemon now, and I want my first match to be against my Aniki! So let's go!"

Though I was intending to leave right now, I found myself saying to him,

"Very well. Go and get properly dressed while I talk to one of the Nurse Joys about refereeing our match." Ash's face lit up as I accepted his challenge, and he promptly turned on his heel to go and get some proper clothes on.

"Well this aught to be interesting." May said with a wry smile.

"Ace, it isn't nice to bully Ash!" Dawn said, believing that I only accepted to quickly beat my little brother. However I just shook my head as I told them,

"Don't count Ash out just yet. He may not seem it now, but I have no doubt that in the end, my little brother will be my biggest opponent in the future." Both girls appeared surprised at my comment, but I truly believed every word of it.

After spending the last seventeen years it's him, I had long since concluded that Ash still had his 'protagonist aura'. I had no doubt he would put together a powerful team, with his ludicrous Pikachu at its head that was capable of going toe-to-toe with Legendaries.

So I put off my departure for just a bit longer as I went to find a Nurse Joy to officiate our match.

Meanwhile, deep within Viridian Forest.

*RING RING RING!*

"Ngh....."

*RING RING RING!*

"Turn it off....."

*RING RING RING!*

"""OH NO!!!"""

Jessie, James and Meowth all sat up in alarm along with their Arbok and Weezing as a result of their Team Rocket communicator going off, the bright sun shining down on them from above.

"Where is it!?!" Jessie exclaimed fearfully as she started digging through the wreckage of their hot air balloon.

"Don't look at me, you had it last!" James snapped back at her as he too searched.

Though Jessie wanted to snap at him for his remark, she HAD to find the communicator. Their very lives could depend on it.

"Got it!" Meowth exclaimed suddenly, making the duo turn to look at him with relief before they got together, and answered the call.

"I see you decided to stop ignoring me." An icy voice immediately said as the image of a woman with fair skin and shoulder length scarlet hair appeared on the screen.

"W-we're deeply sorry madam Admin!" Jessie declared to their superior, one of the three Team Rocket Admins that were just below the mysterious Boss in terms of rank, Ariana.

Ariana snorted dismissively at Jessie's apology, and asked them with a dangerous tone, "Did you succeed your mission?"

The trio flinched at her question, not quite sure how to answer. They were supposed to lift all of the Pokemon in the Pokemon Center, including the lucrative Chansey that were natural healers. But...

"We were defeated by a brat before we could steal any Pokemon....." James said in a small voice.

Ariana looked at them through the screen with a steady gaze, her expression unreadable as she uttered,

"I see..... THAT IS YOUR EXCUSE!?! A SINGLE BRAT STOPPED YOU!?!"

All three of the Rockets along with their two Pokemon flinched at her voice, before Jessie hurriedly said, "B-but he was a strong twerp! He beat up Arbok in a single hit!"

Meowth nodded as he added, "plus he had a bunch of rare and strong Pokemon! A Squirtle, and a couple others that I didn't recognize(he didn't bother mentioning the Miltank)!"

And finally James finished by saying, "and he can control other people's Pokemon too!"

Ariana looked up when she heard that, and demanded in an urgent tone, "what did you say!?"

The three appeared confused as Meowth repeated,

"He has a bunch of weird and strong Pokemon?"

"No, AFTER that!"

"He controlled other people's Pokemon?"

"YES! EXPLAIN THAT NOW!"

The trio looked at each other confusedly, before James recounted how the battle went. Starting with some girl resisting them, he then recounted every single detail of what he could recall, with Jessie and Meowth adding something here or there.

They told her of what the twerp looked like, with Jessie adding that he had numerous scars on his body, his cheek, arm, leg, and all over his back, along with his glowing amber colored eyes. They described the Pokemon he used, starting with the Squirtle that they could identify, along with the description of the two they couldn't(Riolu and Treecko).

And most importantly, they told her of how he had gave the order to use Gust to blow away Weezing's Smog, and every single Pokemon there that had been able to use the move answered. Finally they ended their report by adding how he apparently had a Pidgeot big enough that it not only effortlessly carried the three of them, but also their Pokemon AND their hot air balloon before throwing them into the middle of the forest.

When they finally finished recounting everything, none of them could tell what was going through Ariana's mind as she fell into thought. Finally she stated,

"Normally I'd say we should chase down anyone foolish enough to challenge us, but this time is different. Find this boy and capture him along with all of his Pokemon. Especially that Pidgeot! If what you said is true, then if we can figure out how his powers work he'd make a great asset for Team Rocket, and capturing the Pidgeot would make up for Surge killing the one alpha we tried to capture before."

The three Team Rocket members all saluted Ariana as they declared as one,

"""We will not fail you!"""

Ariana nodded in affirmation of their declaration, before adding,

"If everything you've said is true, then you'll need more than just two Pokemon to deal with him. Take these ones."

As she said that Ariana tapped a few buttons before a light flashed in front of Jessie and James, which turned into two Pokeballs that opened to reveal their inhabitants.

"Duuuuuuuuust!"

"Eleeeeeeeec!"
