Chapter 314: Chapter 313: Cain Intervenes
Upon hearing Miyamoto's words, the other three remained silent, especially the one who had lost a Pokémon from the beginning.
Although Miyamoto's words clearly aimed to sow discord, they couldn't deny he was speaking the truth.
If Nakajima remained alive, how many benefits could they truly gain after killing Miyamoto?
Or worse, wouldn't Nakajima also kill them to keep all the resources and points for himself?
Gradually, the three began to hesitate.
Noticing the change, a sickly, mad smile appeared on Miyamoto's face, while Nakajima's expression darkened.
He couldn't deny that Miyamoto's words reflected his innermost thoughts: eliminating everyone and keeping everything would yield the greatest gain.
"Damn it! Don't be fooled by him! Attack him with everything you've got! I promise you'll get plenty of benefits if we kill him." But by now, his words held little sway.
The other three were no longer putting in much effort, watching as Miyamoto's Dodrio and Mankey cornered Raticate.
However, both Dodrio and Mankey were gravely injured, barely hanging on by a thread.
"Dodrio! Mankey! Deal the final blow to Raticate! Kill it! Ha, ha, ha! I want you to join me in the grave!" Miyamoto laughed frenetically, and no one dared mock him anymore.
This man was mad, a true member of Team Rocket.
Those present felt the true madness of the organization's members.
Nakajima's face was grim. Raticate was in mortal danger; there was no escape.
Although Miyamoto's Pokémon were on the brink of defeat, he had no time to beat them and was running out of resources.
Worse still, the three trainers began to loosen their attacks and slowly approached Nakajima, as if preparing their own escape.
The once favorable situation had turned into a disaster.
They wanted to drag him to the grave!
"Madman! He's an absolute madman! Stop! Stop already! If you stop, I swear I'll retreat immediately. I could even help you eliminate these three, guaranteeing your safe departure." Nakajima, desperate, uttered these words.
But the worst part was that he said it out loud, in front of everyone.
Those words led the other three to make a definitive decision. Without needing to communicate verbally, they all lunged at Nakajima.
Perhaps he could have held out a bit longer, finding a way to escape, but in his desperation to save Raticate, he spoke without thinking.
And that was his downfall. Knowing someone wanted to kill you was reason enough to act first.
Five Pokémon attacked at once. Nakajima's remaining Pokémon couldn't withstand it.
At the same time as his Raticate, it was defeated by the enemy Pokémon.
Thus, Nakajima, who had been one of the strongest on Trial Island and a contender in the top ten, lost all his Pokémon and was left at the mercy of his opponents.
Raticate's final counterattack killed Miyamoto's Mankey, leaving only the exhausted Dodrio, barely able to stand.
The three trainers acted with great coordination, sending their Pokémon to finish off Nakajima as he looked on with a mixture of disbelief and resignation.
One of the strongest fighters on Trial Island had been killed by three unknowns.
Never underestimate anyone on this island. If they've survived this long, it's because they have both intelligence and strength.
In truth, Miyamoto's words had merely been the trigger. The three had already planned this for some time.
With Nakajima dead, the trust among the three quickly began to crumble. But they didn't attack each other just yet, as Miyamoto was still alive, and with him, their greatest prize.
They needed to secure that prize before turning on each other.
Without wasting any time, the three prepared to strike at Miyamoto's exhausted Dodrio.
The Pokémon was so weak that any of them could finish it off.
Meanwhile, Cain, who had been watching everything from a tree, knew this was the perfect moment to act.
It had been a spectacle worth watching.
Cain reflected.
"Murkrow, use Tailwind and then attack swiftly. Slowpoke, use Teleport to bring Murkrow with you. Remember! Prioritize killing the Pokémon; leave the trainers and Dodrio for now," Cain ordered.
"Go for the kill!"
The two Pokémon nodded. Slowpoke's eyes gleamed with a blue glow, and in an instant, thanks to its Teleport move, they crossed the fifty meters separating them from the five combatants.
When the four trainers saw the two Pokémon suddenly appear, their faces turned pale.
The three immediately recognized Cain's Murkrow. It was his starter Pokémon, famous for having defeated Xander on the island.
Miyamoto, on the other hand, recognized Slowpoke, the same one that had caused him so much trouble before.
But instead of hatred or resentment, his eyes reflected a glimmer of hope and a strong desire to survive.
Cain wanted information on all participants in this conflict, and he was the only one who had it. If he was here, then there had to be a chance to live.
The resentment for the death of his Pokémon and the capture of his others vanished from his mind.
For a member of Team Rocket, the bond with his Pokémon wasn't that important. Otherwise, he never would have sent Hitmonchan on a suicide mission earlier.
Life was the most important thing.
The three trainers exchanged glances and decided to attack, underestimating Cain since he only had two Pokémon.
However, they made a grave mistake. Cain's Pokémon were in a different league from Miyamoto's.
The only reason the three had been able to hold out against Miyamoto was Nakajima's threat. Without that, they wouldn't have been a match for him or Cain.
That's why Nakajima died in vain.
The coordination between Murkrow and Slowpoke was the best among all of Cain's Pokémon.
They showed no mercy. A group of level 20 to 25 Pokémon, many of them weak to Slowpoke, couldn't last long.
In less than three minutes, all the enemy Pokémon lay dead on the ground.
The three trainers, who had tried to flee, were quickly restrained by Slowpoke's psychic power, pressed against the ground. It didn't kill them, as Cain hadn't ordered it.
