Pokémon: Day Bringer

Chapter 10: My First Badge

Falkner looked at Haru. "How many badge do you have on you".

Haru looked at him na spoke. "No badges, your my first Gym".

Falkner then to a wall, as then he pressed something, as the wall slide opened as there was many Pokeball, each names from 1 to 8 as he picked the 1, as he grabbed the two Pokeball in them, as Falkner arrived to him

Falkner sent his first Pokémon. "Pidgy, I sent you"

Haru then looked at Ahs. "Hey Ash, this how real battle is done".

As he then sent out, Elekid as from the Pokeball Elekid came out ready to fight, as Ahs checked his Pokédex as he saw the Pokémon data

Ash flipped open his Pokédex and pointed it at Elekid. The device lit up as it processed the data.

"Elekid, the Electric Pokémon. It generates electricity by spinning its arms. If it touches metal and accidentally discharges its electricity, this Pokémon begins swinging its arms again to recharge itself."

Ash's eyes lit up. "Elekid, huh? Looks strong!" He glanced at Haru. "Let's see if you can back up all that talk."

Haru smirked, not bothering to respond as he focused on the battle. Falkner stood calm and collected, his Pidgey flapping its wings in the air, ready to fight.

Falkner spoke confidently. "Pidgey, let's start with Gust!"

Pidgey flapped its wings rapidly, sending a powerful gust of wind toward Elekid. Haru watched carefully, analyzing the attack.

"Elekid, counter with Quick Attack!" Haru commanded.

Elekid dashed forward, cutting through the wind with its sheer speed. It collided with Pidgey, disrupting its attack and sending it slightly off balance.

Falkner smirked. "Not bad. But let's see how you handle this. Pidgey, use Sand Attack!"

Pidgey swooped low, kicking up a cloud of sand directly at Elekid's face. Elekid stumbled slightly, blinking as the sand obscured its vision.

Haru didn't falter. "Elekid, don't let it throw you off. Use Thunder Shock and aim at the sound of its wings!"

Elekid closed its eyes, listening closely. A faint crackle of electricity built up around it before it unleashed a precise bolt of lightning. The attack struck Pidgey midair, sending it crashing to the ground.

Falkner recalled his Pidgey with a nod. "Impressive. You've trained your Elekid well. But this battle is far from over." He reached for his second Pokéball and tossed it into the air. "Go, Spearow!"

The bird Pokémon appeared, letting out a sharp cry as it flapped its wings aggressively. Haru watched it carefully.

Ash leaned forward, gripping his hat. "This is getting intense! Spearow's no joke!"

Haru smirked. "Elekid, let's keep this momentum going. Use Low Kick!"

Elekid charged forward, aiming a sweeping kick at Spearow. But Falkner was quick to react.

"Spearow, dodge and use Peck!"

Spearow narrowly avoided the attack and countered with a sharp peck, striking Elekid. Elekid winced but stayed on its feet.

"Shake it off, Elekid! Use Thunder Shock again!" Haru called.

Elekid generated another burst of electricity, sending it toward Spearow. This time, the electric attack hit its mark, causing significant damage.

Falkner gritted his teeth. "Spearow, hang in there! Use Fury Attack!"

Spearow launched a flurry of strikes at Elekid, each hit chipping away at its stamina. Haru clenched his fists, but he didn't waver.

"Elekid, finish this with another Thunder Shock!" Haru commanded.

Elekid mustered its remaining strength and unleashed a powerful electric attack. Spearow let out a cry before collapsing to the ground, unable to continue.

Falkner sighed and recalled his Pokémon. "You've earned this one, Haru. Your strategy and Elekid's strength are impressive."

The referee raised his hand. "The winner is Haru!"

Ash and his friends clapped from the sidelines, though Ash still looked slightly annoyed by Haru's earlier comment. "Not bad," Ash muttered. "But let's see how he does in the later gyms."

Falkner approached Haru with a smile, holding out the Zephyr Badge. "You've proven yourself worthy. Congratulations, Haru."

Haru accepted the badge, holding it up with a small smile. "One down. Seven to go." He looked at Elekid, who was exhausted but triumphant. "Good job, Elekid. You were amazing out there."

As Haru turned to leave the gym, he glanced back at Falkner. "Thanks for the battle. I'll be back one day—stronger than ever."

Falkner nodded. "I'll be looking forward to it. Good luck on your journey, Haru."

Haru then looked at Ash. "This how you do, you pick the right Pokémon, Right moved and win, I hope you learned something today".

Ash crossed his arms, glaring at Haru with an annoyed expression. "Hey, I don't need a lecture! I won my battle too, didn't I?"

Haru smirked, holding up the Zephyr Badge. "Yeah, but there's winning, and then there's winning smart. You could've saved yourself a lot of trouble if you used your team properly. Starting with Chikorita in a Flying-type gym? Rookie mistake."

Ash clenched his fists, his pride clearly wounded. "I'll show you! Next time we battle, I'll wipe the floor with you!"

Haru chuckled, clearly enjoying Ash's frustration. "Looking forward to it, kid. Maybe by then, you'll learn how to think before you act."

Misty leaned over to Brock, whispering, "Why does Haru sound like Gary but even more smug?"

Brock nodded with a sigh. "It's like watching Ash argue with himself. This journey just got a whole lot more interesting."

Pikachu, perched on Ash's shoulder, gave a little sigh as if to say, Here we go again.

Haru turned toward the exit, tossing a final glance over his shoulder. "See you around, Ash. Try not to embarrass yourself at the next gym." With that, he walked off, leaving Ash fuming and determined to prove him wrong.

Ash looked at Misty and Brock. "I will show him. You'll see."

Misty smirked. "Sure, Ash. Let's just make sure you don't start your next battle with Chikorita again, okay?"

Ash groaned, already regretting telling them about his earlier mistake. "Ugh, can we just go already?"

Falkner then looked at him. "Where are you next".

Haru looked at him and spoke. "Will Bugsy Gym, and don't worry i will tell your boyfriend that you said hi".

As he walked away, the trio looked at Falkner as he looked back then, saying any problems with out saying it

Misty raised an eyebrow and leaned toward Brock. "Did he just say what I think he said? Falkner and Bugsy...?"

Brock scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "I mean, it's not impossible... but it's none of our business."

Ash blinked, confused as ever. "Wait, what do you mean? Falkner and Bugsy are...?"

Misty sighed, shaking her head. "Ash, you're so dense. Never mind. Let's just say Haru knows how to push buttons."

Falkner cleared his throat, his face slightly red, but he maintained his composure. "I don't see how that's relevant to anyone here. Shouldn't you all be focusing on your next gym battles?"

Pikachu let out a little chuckle from Ash's shoulder, seemingly amused by the tension.

Ash, still clueless, shrugged. "I guess? Anyway, I'll show Haru that I'm just as good as him! No way I'm losing next time."

Falkner adjusted his hat, his expression returning to a professional demeanor. "Good luck, Ash. Just... maybe don't start with Chikorita next time."

Misty smirked while Ash groaned, covering his face. "Why does everyone keep saying that?!"

Haru got out of the Gym, he remembers the day he caught Bugsy and Falkner kiss, and it was fun day

Flash back

6 years ago, as if shows a 10 years Old Whitney and a 10 year old Haru coming out the Gym.

Haru just sighed as he looked at his, starly. "Wow Falkner wasn't kidding when he said his dad was strong".

Whitney sigehd as she looked at him. "Yeah, hey but we got out badge, hey is that Falkner".

The two kids stopped in their tracks, noticing Falkner near the side of the gym building. He wasn't alone. Bugsy, the Future Azalea Town gym leader, stood with him. Haru squinted, curious.

Falkner looked nervous as Bugsy said something Haru and Whitney couldn't hear. Then, to their shock, Falkner leaned forward and kissed Bugsy on the cheek.

Whitney gasped, her hands shooting up to cover her mouth, but the sound caught Falkner's attention. His head snapped in their direction, eyes wide.

Haru froze like a Deerling caught in headlights. "Uh-oh."

Bugsy turned as well, his face flushed. "Falkner, I think we've been spotted."

Whitney grabbed Haru's arm, tugging him away. "Come on, let's get out of here before they say anything!"

But it was too late.

"Whitney, Haru!" Falkner called, walking toward them.

Haru groaned, rubbing the back of his neck. "What do we do? Pretend we didn't see anything?"

Whitney smirked mischievously. "Or we could tease him about it forever."

Haru couldn't help but laugh, but before they could run off, Falkner and Bugsy caught up to them.

"So..." Haru started awkwardly, trying not to grin. "Nice weather we're having?"

Falkner sighed, crossing his arms. "Look, you didn't see anything, okay?"

Whitney giggled. "Oh, we saw everything. You and Bugsy? Who would've guessed?"

Bugsy's face was as red as a Cheri Berry. "This is so embarrassing."

Haru shrugged, trying to keep things light. "Hey, it's cool. Love is love, right? Just maybe don't do it in front of the gym next time."

Falkner sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Fine. Just... please don't tell anyone."

Whitney gave him a cheeky grin. "Don't worry, your secret's safe with us. For now."

Flashback ends

Haru chuckled to himself as he walked toward his next destination. "Good times. Wonder if they're still sneaking around or if they've finally told everyone."

After returning to the Pokémon center, and telling both Professor Elm and Whitney that he got his first badge, he got something to eat for him and his Pokémon, as they are Haru looked at Mudkip

Haru looked at his starter and patted his head. "Hey don't be bummed out I didn't use buddy, I will use in the next one".

Mudkip looked up at Haru, his eyes wide but understanding. He let out a cheerful "Mudkip!" and nuzzled Haru's hand, showing he wasn't upset.

Haru smiled. "That's the spirit. Bugsy's gym will definitely be your time to shine. You'll get to show everyone what you're made of."

Elekid and Meowth looked over from their own meals, nodding in agreement. Meowth chimed in with a sly grin, "Yeah, kiddo, we'll be cheering you on. Just don't get yourself knocked out too fast."

Mudkip puffed out his chest confidently, determined to prove himself.

As they finished their meal, Haru leaned back in his chair, stretching. "Alright, team, tomorrow's gonna be another long day. We'll start early and train before heading to Azalea Town. Bugsy's got a reputation for strategy, so we need to be ready."

Elekid raised his tiny fist, sparks crackling. "Elekid!"

Meowth rolled his eyes but smirked. "Yeah, yeah, we'll be ready. Let's just hope Haru's got some strategy too."

Haru shot him a mock glare. "Hey, I just got us our first badge, didn't I? Give me some credit."

The team shared a laugh before settling down for the night. Haru glanced out the window, his mind already planning for the challenges ahead. Bugsy's gym would be tough, but with his team growing stronger and more synchronized, he felt ready to take on whatever came next.

Latest that nights as Haru was in his room, as his Pokémon was asleep he was trying something, he was trying to connect to his Aura. He was Aura master in his past life and it was necessary skill in the past, this how he and Zekrom was always connected, but with this new life why he couldn't master it, he was prince of Unova, he was the wilder of Zekrom the dragon of Ideals

Haru sat cross-legged on the floor of his dimly lit room, his eyes closed as he focused on his breathing. The soft glow of moonlight streaming through the window cast a serene glow, but his mind was anything but calm. His hands rested on his knees, trembling slightly with frustration.

Why can't I connect? Haru thought, clenching his fists. I was an Aura Master in my past life... This was second nature to me. So why now... why does it feel like a wall is blocking me?

He exhaled slowly, trying to clear his mind. Faint memories of his past life surfaced: the bond he shared with Zekrom, the immense power of Aura flowing through him, guiding his ideals and shaping the path of Unova. Those memories were both a source of strength and a painful reminder of what he'd lost.

Haru focused harder, visualizing the flow of Aura. He reached inward, imagining it as a glowing blue energy coursing through his body. His breathing steadied, and for a moment, he felt a faint flicker.

"There!" he whispered, his heart racing. He concentrated on that faint sensation, trying to amplify it. The air around him grew heavier, a faint shimmer appearing around his hands.

But just as quickly as it appeared, it vanished.

Haru slammed his fist on the floor, his frustration boiling over. "Why?! What's stopping me?" he growled under his breath.

A soft rustling sound made him glance over. Meowth, who had been pretending to sleep, opened one eye lazily. "What's with all the muttering, kid? You look like you're trying to summon a ghost or something."

Haru sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's... nothing. Just go back to sleep."

Meowth stretched and rolled onto his side. "Whatever you're stressing about, don't overdo it. You're no use to us if you're running on fumes tomorrow. Night, kid."

Haru watched as Meowth drifted back to sleep, his words lingering in the quiet room. Maybe he was overthinking it. He'd spent years mastering Aura in his past life; perhaps this new life required a different approach.

As he lay down, staring at the ceiling, Haru made a silent promise to himself. I'll reclaim my connection to Aura. No matter how long it takes, I'll find that part of myself again.

With that resolve, Haru closed his eyes, the flicker of Aura still fresh in his memory as sleep finally claimed him.
