Pokemon Earth’s Parallel World: Dragon Trainer

Chapter 179 – Garchompite

After arriving back at the meteorite field, Floyd skillfully dismounted Gyarados, accompanied by his other Pokémon. He scanned the area with a cautious eye. It was noticeably devoid of other Pokémon, likely due to their awareness that this was Ursaluna's territory. However, unbeknownst to them, Ursaluna was no longer a threat, having been captured by Floyd.

Approaching the cluster of meteorite stones, Floyd extended his hand to touch them, a sense of anticipation building within him. A recent thought had struck him - by activating his dragon power, he might be able to sense the presence of a dragon-related Mega Evolution Stone. Although the area was Ursaluna's domain, Floyd had hesitated to explore it fully before. Now, with Ursaluna in his possession, he felt emboldened to investigate this territory more thoroughly.

As he activated his dragon power, it seemed to resonate with something hidden in the vicinity. "There's one!" Floyd exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement, convinced that his theory was proving to be successful. Moments later, he pinpointed the exact location of this connection. His gaze fixed on the top of the meteorite stones, where he deduced the object of interest lay.

With a decisive command, "Fraxure, break it, use Dragon Cleave!" Floyd directed Fraxure towards the precise spot atop the meteorites.

"Fraxure!" Fraxure channeled his Dragon energy into his tusks and launched a powerful attack at the indicated location.

BANG!

The impact of Fraxure's Dragon Cleave caused several smaller meteorite stones to scatter across the area. Floyd watched the effective assault and nodded in approval.

He had specifically named the move 'Dragon Cleave' to distinguish it from the typical 'Dragon Claw.' This was because, even though the method was similar, Fraxure utilized its tusks instead of claws. This distinction was important to avoid confusion during battle. The technique, akin to Dragon Claw, was more potent due to Fraxure's specialized tusks, enhancing the damage inflicted.

Returning to the task at hand, the aftermath of Fraxure's attack revealed a unique stone among the broken meteorite fragments. With Gyarados' assistance, Floyd climbed the meteorite pile and retrieved the stone.

It was indeed another Mega Evolution Stone!

Floyd examined its unique characteristics: the stone bore a swirling flame motif in vibrant shades of red and orange, vividly set against a deep navy blue background. This striking contrast accentuated the fiery design, making the stone's appearance both distinct and captivating.

As Floyd gazed at the stone in his hand, his heart skipped a beat. He knew, from the detailed explanations provided by the Game Panel, that his current power was uniquely attuned to detect Mega Evolution stones containing Dragon-type energies. This ability did not extend to all types, as exemplified by Altaria's evolution stone, which eluded his detection due to its Fairy-type energy rather than Dragon-type.

From his extensive knowledge, both from his past life and the game, Floyd was aware that only a handful of Mega Evolution stones harbored Dragon-type energy. The ones he could recall included those of Sceptile, Salamence, Charizard, Ampharos, and Garchomp.

Holding the stone, a surge of excitement rushed through Floyd. He had a strong hunch about its origin but needed confirmation. "Game Panel, please help me scan it!" he called out.

[Mega Evolution Stone: Garchompite]

"I KNEW IT!" Floyd couldn't contain his excitement, shouting out loud. A wave of intense thrill and exhilaration washed over him as he confirmed the stone's origin.

His Pokémon, startled by his outburst, looked at him with a mix of confusion and curiosity. They were unaware of the significance of the stone but sensed its importance to Floyd, even though he had not shared the details with them.

Floyd was ecstatic internally. 'I actually got Garchompite!' he thought.

Garchomp, a highly popular pseudo-legendary Pokémon, was especially renowned as the trump card of Cynthia, the famous champion of the Sinnoh region. Despite the subsequent nerfs it faced with the advent of Fairy types and other game balance changes, its allure remained undiminished in both the anime and the games. Garchomp continued to be one of the fan-favorite among pseudo-legendary Pokémon.

Now, with the Garchompite in his possession, Floyd realized a significant opportunity. He already had a key stone, fulfilling one of the essential requirements for Mega Evolution. However, a problem loomed large – he didn't have a Garchomp in his team. Floyd had not even glimpsed the shadow of a Garchomp in either Maharlika or Nihon, which dampened his spirits considerably.

With a sigh of resignation, Floyd carefully placed the Garchompite in his backpack. He then turned his attention back to the meteorites, touching them once again to activate his Dragon Power. He held onto the hope of finding another Mega Evolution stone, one that might resonate with the Dragon-type energy.

Half an hour had elapsed since Floyd began his search among the meteorite rocks, but his efforts had been in vain. He had meticulously examined each part of the meteorites, yet his senses failed to detect any further presence of what he sought, leading to a growing sense of disappointment.

He contemplated the idea of breaking apart the meteorites for a more thorough search but ultimately decided against it. Despite his desire for more discoveries, he recognized the value of preserving the meteorites.

They were not only a unique geological feature but also a resource for Pokémon to learn new moves. Besides, having already obtained a significant find, Floyd reminded himself not to be consumed by greed.

"Enough is enough," he thought, acknowledging the need to appreciate what he had already gained.

Subsequently, Floyd made his way back to the base, his mind occupied with thoughts of future explorations and discoveries.

September 27, 2005

Early in the morning, an impressive assembly of humans and Pokémon had gathered. At the forefront stood Floyd, Kanraku, and the rest of the team, all prepared and eager for the day's expedition. The group had meticulously packed everything they needed for their foray into the forest.

Kanraku, with Floyd's assistance and input from others, had carefully planned the journey to ensure maximum safety. They decided to keep only the stronger, adult Pokémon out of their Poké Balls, while the younger, more vulnerable Pokémon were safely tucked away inside their respective Poké Balls.

"Let's go!" Kanraku announced with enthusiasm, turning to address the group. His gaze then shifted to his four disciples, then to Chen Yu, Linh, and the others who were staying behind. "I'm entrusting this place to you," he said with a mix of responsibility and confidence.

His four disciples nodded in agreement, acknowledging their duty. Linh, with a hint of envy in her voice, remarked, "I wish I could join you, but the safety of those staying behind are important."

Chen Yu, protective as ever, directed a stern warning towards Kanraku and the others. "Be extra careful, especially with my sister. Remember, if anything happens to her, I will never forgive you," he said, his tone serious yet tinged with concern. He turned to glance at his sister, who seemed to deliberately avoid meeting his gaze.

Seeing this, Chen Yu felt a mix of helplessness and worry. He looked towards Xin Yuexin with pleading eyes. In response, Xin Yuexin offered him a reassuring wink and a smile.

Kanraku, sensing the tension and concern, reassured the group. "Don't worry. I promise we'll take every precaution to avoid any accidents," he said, patting his chest earnestly. He was determined to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

Raising his voice to address the entire group, Kanraku called out, "Everyone!" and then, with a commanding shout, announced, "Let's Go!"

The group, filled with a sense of adventure and determination, then proceeded to leave the Safe Zone, stepping into the Kemonohaji forest.
