Pokemon Earth’s Parallel World: Dragon Trainer

Chapter 188 – Battle Ended

Nakamura, fully immersed in the intensity of the battle, narrated with focused excitement, "Blastoise is skillfully maneuvering away using Rapid Spin, and now he's using Combination Move, combining it with Water Pulse. Blastoise is charging towards Fraxure with incredible speed. But what will Fraxure do in response?"

He continued, his voice tinged with suspense, "Fraxure counters with Breaking Swipe! Here they go, heading for a collision!"

"Professor Blastoise wins the clash!" Nakamura exclaimed, jumping with excitement, his voice filled with a mix of exhilaration and concern. "But wait, Fraxure is reverting to the 'Dig' move once again. Yes! As expected of the professor, he had already anticipated this and commanded Blastoise to use Aqua Jet! Floyd seems cornered and opts for Fraxure to use 'Protect'," he explained, sighing in relief at the unfolding drama.

Yamada, seizing the educational moment, added, "For those new to this, a 'Combination Move' requires the Pokémon to have high mastery in both moves involved, showcasing the skill of the Beasts."

Nakamura's tone shifted to one of worry. "Oh no, here it comes again, Fraxure is grabbing onto Blastoise's shell! What should we do?" He was visibly concerned about the potential outcome of Fraxure's next move.

"Oh dear, it's another unexpected move! I can't identify it, but Blastoise has been slammed to the ground. Are we going to lose?" Nakamura lamented, his hands clutching his head in despair.

The villagers, engrossed in the battle, shared Nakamura's concern. Despite not fully understanding the technical terms of the battle, they could sense the tension and the stakes of the battle. They felt a natural inclination to support Kanraku, a fellow countryman, over Floyd, the foreign challenger.

Simultaneously, they were awestruck by the spectacle of the battle. For many, this was their first experience witnessing such an electrifying and strategic Pokémon battle. The prowess of Blastoise and the unexpected capabilities of Floyd's Pokémon opened their eyes to a world of possibilities they hadn't imagined before.

Meanwhile, the Village Chief pondered the implications of what he was witnessing. The thought of every villager possessing capabilities similar to those displayed by Floyd and Kanraku was both awe-inspiring and daunting. He envisioned a few people, each partnered with their own Pokémon, a force that could rival thousands of soldiers. The potential of such power was immense and somewhat overwhelming.

The Village Chief, watching the intense battle unfold on the screen, clenched his fist in anticipation. His eyes were fixed on Kanraku, the only person who could dispel his growing doubts about the capabilities of Pokémon and their trainers. The Chief's gaze remained unwavering, eager to hear what Kanraku would reveal after the battle.

Meanwhile, Nakamura, with growing excitement, commented on the unfolding events. "Something's amiss with Floyd's Fraxure – it's not following his instructions. Could this be a result of its earlier move? And look at Blastoise on the screen! There's a terrifying surge of water emanating from him. This must be the 'Torrent' ability in action," he exclaimed, trying to capture every detail of the dramatic scene.

Yamada took the moment to educate the viewers. "For those unfamiliar, 'Torrent' is one of the abilities that some beasts possess. The term 'Ability'was still a theory under our current research, but it's showing its potential right here in this battle," he explained, providing insights into their ongoing studies.

"Fraxure is charging towards Blastoise, but wait – Blastoise counters with Fake Out! And here it comes, Blastoise's ace move, 'Hydro Pump'!" Nakamura's voice rose in excitement. "BANG! Fraxure has been hit! Fraxure is down!" he announced, repeating for emphasis.

Upon seeing Fraxure lose consciousness, the villagers erupted in celebration over Blastoise's victory. Their understanding of the battle's intricacies might have been limited, but the triumph of their countryman, Kanraku, over the foreign challenger filled them with pride and joy. This victory was a significant achievement for them.

Yuuki, completely engrossed in the battle, couldn't contain his excitement. "I have to get a Blastoise like that! I swear, one day, it'll be mine!" he exclaimed, running back and forth, his eyes sparkling with aspiration.

Kaito, equally awed, echoed Yuuki's sentiment, "I want to be just as strong!"

Their grandmother, concerned about the influence of the battle on her grandchildren, admonished them. "What are you talking about? Owning such a creature is far too dangerous!"

Yuuki, however, brimming with youthful defiance, protested, "No way! I'm going to have one!" His imagination fueled by the battle, he was undeterred by his grandmother's caution.

"Okay brat, let's head home. This broadcast might be giving you the wrong ideas," the grandmother principal said, worried about the impact of the intense battle on impressionable minds.

"No, I'm staying to watch!" Yuuki insisted, breaking away from her grasp.

"You come back here, brat!" she called out, her voice tinged with frustration at her headstrong grandchild.

Back at the stadium, Floyd, acknowledging the outcome of the battle, gracefully accepted Fraxure's defeat. He returned Fraxure to his Poké Ball, ready to attend to his Pokémon's recovery. In an act of care and teamwork, Chansey, Blissey, Cherrim, Cherubi, and other Pokémon with healing abilities appeared, ready to tend to Fraxure

Floyd nodded in acknowledgment to his team and handed over his Poké Ball for Fraxure's recovery. Turning to face Kanraku, he admitted with a sense of respect, "I lost this time."

Kanraku, reflecting on the battle, responded humbly, "If our beasts had been of equal strength, the outcome might have been different. I recognize that my command skills are not yet on par with yours, Floyd. My victory today is largely attributed to Blastoise's strength, not my own command."

Kanraku pondered the battle's climax. "When Fraxure unleashed that last move, I was already too late to react. It was Blastoise's Torrent ability that turned the tide, and I didn't even issue a command. He acted on his own to secure our victory."

Floyd shook his head, offering encouragement. "You're still in the early stages of developing a deep connection with Blastoise. It's been less than a month, and your focus has been divided with your ongoing research. Yet, despite these challenges, you've managed to reach this impressive level of command. That's no small feat. Don't be discouraged. It's already a significant accomplishment, and with a few more months of dedicated training, your synergy with Blastoise will only grow stronger."

Floyd's eyes held a determined glint. "This time, I accept my defeat. But I'll be back, stronger next time. I hope you're ready for our next encounter," he said resolutely.

Kanraku nodded in agreement. "I look forward to it, Floyd. Next time, it will be a more evenly matched battle between our Pokémon."

"Absolutely, we will train even harder!" Floyd asserted with firm conviction.

In the commentary booth, Nakamura enthusiastically addressed the audience. "The exhibition match has concluded, and the victory goes to Professor Kanraku and Blastoise! Let's give a round of applause to both competitors for their exceptional performance today!" His voice was filled with genuine excitement.

As the Chansey and her team arrived on the scene, Nakamura introduced them with admiration. "Here comes our most esteemed nurse, Chansey, along with her team. Don't underestimate her because of her gentle appearance. Chansey possesses remarkable healing powers, capable of nurturing both humans and Pokémon back to health."

Yamada added, Don't underestimate her abilities based solely on your perception of beasts. Chansey possesses the remarkable power to heal, extending her care to both humans and beasts alike,"

Nakamura then directed the viewers' attention back to the event. "With the exhibition match over, it's time for the main event – the competition. Everyone, please turn your attention to the screen for the upcoming battles."

The screen then lit up, revealing twenty-four names, each accompanied by a photograph, indicating the participants of the upcoming competition. The names were:
