Pokemon Earth’s Parallel World: Dragon Trainer

Chapter 32 – Unexpected Fortune, Chansey’s Debut

Seeing the ability of Rain Dish, Floyd's lit up in surprise.

Rain Dish: A Pokémon with Rain Dish will recover 1⁄16 of its maximum HP during rain.

Floyd didn't know how this Blastoise get another ability, but it didn't matter for now because the most important thing was to rescue him right now.

"Everyone, I have a way! Wartortle, Professor, and Chansey, I need your help!"

Everyone looked at him with surprise.

"Floyd-san, can you… really?" Kanraku eye's widened with joy.

"Chansey? Chansey!" Chansey was surprised that she was called by him, she was scared at first, but seeing the situation right now, she fought his fear and nodded.

"Wartortle?"

"Wartortle?"

"Wartortle?"

"Wartortle?"

All Wartortle desperate expression were changed in joy as they surrounded Floyd with hope in their eyes.

"Yes, but the first thing we need to do is escape this place right now, it's not safe to stay here anymore. Wartortle, I need you to carry your boss in the middle of the sea" Floyd reminded them as many pokemon here were still unconscious and looked at Wartortle.

"Don't worry about it, everyone, please help me this time" Kanraku said and hurriedly bowed to every pokemon.

Other pokemon also responded as they looked at them saying, we will take care of it. Then they moved each unconscious Pokemon even human as they carried each one of them on the ship

"Everyone," Seeing this scene, Kanraku almost shed tears as he watched these beasts helping him lift the unconscious beasts and humans on the ship.

Floyd remembered the phrase, 'as long as you treat your Pokémon with care and respect, they will treat you the same way.' It seemed it happened right now.

Kanraku struggled to hold back his tears then he looked at the army of Wartortle, saying, "Wartortle, Chansey, we must go with Floyd now" Kanraku looked at the acting leader Wartortle.

"Wartortle" Wartortle nodded in saluted then looked at Floyd.

"Chansey!" Chansey nodded seriously.

"Okay, let's go to the sea," Floyd said.

3 minutes later, Floyd, Kanraku, Chansey, Growlithe(?), and many Wartortle surrounded Blastoise in the middle of the sea. On their sides was the Kanraku's ship where many pokemon were curiously watching with concern.

Floyd, Chansey, Growlithe, and Kanraku approached Blastoise who was lying on the sea with the help of Wartortles carrying them on their back.

"Professor, Chansey, Wartortle, use your ability, please" then Floyd pour the powder that made in Rawst Berry, although it can't really cure the Blastoise extreme status burnt, it much better than nothing. Then he also put a healing powder and energy powder on Blastoise mouth.

"Got it!" Kanraku nodded and looked at his partner with worry.

"Chansey" Chansey nodded seriously, she knew her assignment and she must do her best.

"Wartortle" Many Wartortle who can use Life Dew also nodded.

As for Growlithe, who followed Chansey, everyone ignored him.

"Those who can learn the rain move, use it" Floyd already tells them what to do and the rest of Wartortles nodded and activated it.

Many droplets of rain were gently pattering as the rain continued to drop in a steady rhythm and still increases, eventually, it became a strong heavy downpour coming on the sea.

"Awrrr… Awrrr…" Hearing Growlithe cry in agony while hiding behind Chansey, Floyd rolled his eyes. He silently thought, 'Serves you right.' No one had invited him along, and Floyd had even warned against it. Knowing that the Hisuian form of Growlithe was Fire + Rock, it had a significant vulnerability to water. While this wasn't a game, the logic still there which were: Fire + Rock is especially weak to water.

Yet, the stubborn Growlithe insisted on joining. He was evidently very attached to Chansey.

Watching him suffer in the rain, Floyd, seeing that Kanraku, Chansey, and the Wartortles were preoccupied, picked him up.

"Awwrr… Awwrr." Growlithe panicked in Floyd's grasp. Even though Floyd had once aided him, past traumatic experiences with humans overwhelmed his senses.

"Quiet now, here," Floyd offered a Passho Berry, having anticipated Growlithe's distress. After all, Professor Kanraku had a plenty of stocks of berries.

"Awwr… Awrrr." Growlithe resisted, his two paws reaching out to Chansey.

"If you interrupt them and Blastoise isn't saved, Chansey will be upset with you," Floyd tried to reason using Chansey's relationship as leverage. It worked; Growlithe stopped struggling.

"Chansey!" From afar, Chansey tried to convey that Floyd's words weren't true, but her focus was primarily on healing Blastoise.

With Growlithe now calmer, Floyd breathed a sigh of relief. But still sensing the Pokémon's fear as his heart starts beating rapidly, so, he said, "Here, don't fuss. Eat this." Without waiting for this guy's response, Floyd fed him the berry in his mouth.

"Awrrr… Aow." Growlithe was about to vomit, but the human holding him quickly closed his mouth. Growlithe tried to struggle, but compared to the human, he was weak. Unable to open his mouth, he bitterly swallowed the berry.

However, a few seconds later, despite the rain causing him pain, he felt the pain receding. Growlithe began to think it might have been due to the berry. Was this human genuinely trying to help him?

He then watched as Floyd took a large towel, wrapped it around him, and stepped forward towards Blastoise, cradling the bundled Growlithe in his arms. He noticed the rain pouring onto Blastoise's body. As Blastoise absorbed the rain, he began to heal gradually. It penetrated deep into his bones, alleviating severe internal injuries, and mending external wounds and bruises. Blastoise's burnt state also began to fade.

A few minutes later, as Kanraku continued to heal Blastoise with effort, his eyes suddenly sparkled with hope, and he shouted excitedly, "HIS VITALITY STOPPED DECREASING! HIS VITALITY STOPPED DECREASING!"

"FLOYD-SAN HUUUUUU! SNIFF, ARIGATOUUUU!" Tears streamed down Kanraku's face as he looked at Floyd with deep gratitude.

"Professor, stay focused on the healing. We're still unsure if he's fully recovered," Floyd said, slightly embarrassed by Kanraku's emotional display, which reminded him of a child crying out of sheer joy.

"SNIFF, uh-huh, you're right, sniff, focus first, focus first." Although exhausted, Kanraku forced himself to refocus on Blastoise, determined to see his partner through.

A few minutes later, many Wartortles continued using their Rain Move upon seeing the improvement in their boss's condition.

Then, Kanraku shouted, "IT'S INCREASING! THE VITALITY IS INCREASING!"

"CHANSEY!"

"WARTORTLE!"

"WARTORTLE!"

"WARTORTLE!"

"WARTORTLE!"

Many Wartortles jumped excitedly, tears streaming from their eyes. Their boss had been saved.

Chansey smiled happily as she healed another Pokémon. This was her second successful attempt at healing, and her confidence seemed to have grown significantly because of it.

Suddenly, water energy gathered in Chansey's hand and then flowed onto Blastoise.

Life Dew Move!

Everyone was surprised by this scene.

But it didn't end there. A strong green energy gathered within her and was directed to Blastoise.

Heal Pulse Move!

"What?" Floyd was taken aback. "Chansey learned two moves at once?"

He theorized that the Life Dew must be inspired by observing some Wartortles using it and due to the water environment and that the Heal Pulse might have been self-learned by herself.

She truly deserved to be recognized as the no. 1 nurse in the Pokémon world, a genuine natural-born healer.

"Chansey? Chansey!" Chansey, not fully understanding what had just transpired, spontaneously activated her newly learned moves. Nonetheless, she was thrilled because these new moves were more potent than her inherent abilities.

"Chansey, remember this sensation. Combine your innate abilities with these moves; it's more cost-effective," advised Floyd.

"Chansey!" With a nod, Chansey expressed her newfound confidence.
