Chapter 44: chapter 44
Somewhere in Sinnoh.
"Get me out of here! I know my rights!" Johanna shouted inside a glass cell while Akari remained with her face hidden between her legs in one of the beds of the same cell.
"Please cut that off, Miss Johanna." Danika said from outside the cell. "You'll be set free once this is all over."
"And when is that supposed to be?!" Johanna asked.
"You should have wondered that before hiding Akari in your house instead of handling her to the authorities and then fighting me back when I tried to take her!" Danika ranted.
"When Dawn discovers something happened with us, she's gonna bring down this place to shreds, so you should really just let us go and we might forgive you!" Johanna asked.
"Tempting, tempting...but no." Danika answered, she then looked at the person in the cell in front of them, who was reading a book. "Emma, make sure to call if you see these two acting weird." She told her.
"Uh, sure, leave it to me." Emma answered and Danika walked away leaving the area. "...So Johanna and... what's your name?" She asked.
"And why would she tell you that?!" Johanna shouted at Emma.
"D-Don't worry, I mean no harm, after all I'm stuck here as well." Emma answered tapping the glass of her cell.
"That doesn't mean we should trust you." Johanna insisted.
"My... name is Akari." She answered looking at Emma. "Shō Akari."
"Nice to meet you, Akari." Emma said. "Well, I suppose you heard Danika, but my name is Emma, Emma Matiere. Why are you two here?"
"Because of me..." Akari said. "I...I don't belong here."
"And what about you? Are you some kind of phantom thief?" Johanna asked.
"I'm just a person with troubles." Emma explained. "But believe it or not, this cell is actually for my protection."
"I guess that explains the TV and the refrigerator." Johanna sighed. "Sorry for being harsh, but well, this is the first time I get kidnapped."
"You seem like good people though, if they left you in the same section as me that means you're of no harm either, so I'm sure they'll let you out soon."
"I hope so..." Johanna sighed, she then looked at Akari and sat in the floor next to her. "I'm sorry, Dawn left you in my care, but I wasn't able to protect you, I've never been much a fighter."
"Please, don't blame yourself, Miss Johanna." Akari looked at her. "I'm the cause of these troubles after all."
"Are you two mother and daughter?" Emma asked them.
"It's... a little more complicated than that." Johanna answered. "Don't worry Akari, I'm sure everything will be fine."
"I can only...ZORUA!" Akari shouted suddenly standing up.
"What?" Johanna asked standing up as well.
"M-My Zorua! She jumped under the bed before it all happened and she stayed there when I escaped!" Akari exclaimed worried.
"I didn't see her while Danika left to chase you." Johanna asked.
"She must have stayed hiding after hearing all the fighting!" Akari continued. "This can't be happening, I abandoned her there! W-What is she supposed to do?! She's in a completely strange world!"
"Hey, hey, calm down." Johanna said. "Remember that Danika said a team would go to fix the house, so best case scenario they'll find her and bring her with you."
"And what if she escapes those people and runs away?!" Akari began to cry. "She won't be able of tracking me this far, but I know her! She'll try to find me and will get lost! I can't let that happen!"
"...Come here, honey." Johanna hugged her and let Akari cry on her shoulder until she calmed down. "You're so much like Dawn. Even though this situation might no be the best, I want you to know that you are member of the family, I mean, it has always been Dawn and me, I'm glad to have you as well... I promise I'll find you a way out of this."
Meanwhile in another room of the organization.
"Alright, let me get this straight." Looker talked to Danika. "That girl Akari, who looks exactly like Dawn, is from the past."
"Yes." Danika nodded.
"She was transported to the present by one of those portals that primal Dialga made to fight your team." He continued.
"Correct."
"She's been living here with Dawn and her mother, and Dialga took the form of a chibi to personally tell you that you had go to and contain her."
"Go on, Ger."
"So you accepted to go, Cynthia and Dawn were there as well, but they left to Alola, and once they were far enough, you went to the house, but Johanna and Akari resisted, then you had a fight with them, but before you could capture Akari, she touched Lucas and sent him back in time, making him take her place in the timeline."
"Pretty much."
"...And how are we supposed to solve all this?!" Looker exclaimed.
"It'll be fine, Dialga told me he just needed time to make a proper portal, Akari will be sent back and if he can do that, I'm sure Lucas can be brought back too."
"I really hope he can brought back, because the second Mars notices that something happened to him she'll come with me for help." Looker sighed. "Either way, why did you brought Johanna as well?"
"She tried to stop me from my mission, I was just following protocol." Danika answered. "Besides, she was trying to contact Dawn, which could eventually involve Ash or even Cynthia and that would only cause even more problems."
"I guess that means we have until Dawn returns from Alola to solve this." Looked said. "Are you sure no one saw what happened?"
"Completely." Danika nodded. "Dawn's house a bit far away from the others in Twinleaf and there was no one else in the beach. It is unseen."
Back in Dawn's house.
"Removal team in position, we'll start the cleaning." A man in a white bodysuit reported on his phone. "Wow, this place is a mess."
While the employees started fixing the house, Akari's Zorua ran from under the bed and made her way out of the house without anyone noticing. once Zorua was far enough, she closed her eyes and tried to sense Akari, but she wasn't able to do so, instead she felt Dawn's energy and looked around without being able to spot her, Zorua eventually looked up and saw a plane in the sky, quickly noticing Dawn was up there and that she couldn't make it to her. "Zo..."
"Alright, Dawn, we're almost in your house." A feminine voice caught Zorua's attention and she saw two girls walking in a nearby path. "What do you mean you're not there?!" The same voice ranted startling Zorua, who hid inside a bush.
"Sorry Chloe, I had an emergency." Dawn apologized to her friend while in the other side of the video call. Zorua then silently approached the girls after hearing Dawn's voice.
"Did you forget we were coming to visit you today?!" Chloe shouted while her Eevee did her best to hold onto her shoulder.
"M-Maybe..." Dawn trailed off. "It's kinda funny, we really missed each other by this much. I left Sinnoh just a few minutes ago."
"This isn't funny at all, Dawn!" Chloe ranted. "You're telling me we came here for nothing?! Do you even know how much a ticket from Galar to Sinnoh costs?!"
"Could you calm down, Koharu?" The person next to Chloe called her. "I was the one who paid the tickets anyway."
"You think calling me by my full name will make me calm down, Regina?!" Chloe exclaimed at her and her Glaceon. "If anything you should be more mad than me, that was your money!"
"It really wasn't big deal." Regina said. "Those two tickets don't even cost a tenth of what my father gives me weekly."
"Not helping!" Chloe shouted.
"Anyway Chloe, I really don't think I should be making a phone call midflight, so I'll leave you for now. I'll compensate you somehow, I promise." Dawn said and cut the call.
"Perfect!" Chloe sighed and then felt something bopping her ankle, she then looked down to find Zorua looking at Regina and her. Chloe's Eevee and Regina's Glaceon then approached her to greet her and Zorua shyly greeted them back.
"And who might you be?" Regina asked the fox while Chloe reached out to Zorua and picked her up.
"Uh, hello there." Chloe said to the Pokemon in her arms. "...BAH! She's cold!" She exclaimed tossing the Zorua away and Regina caught her midair.
"B-Be more careful, will you? There's nothing wrong with being a little cold." She answered brushing Zorua's fur to calm her down, while Chloe tried to heat up her hands. "Hmm, this is a different type of cold though." Regina continued. "I don't think this little one is an Ice Type."
"How can you possibly tell that?" Chloe asked.
"You know it's just my thing." Regina answered.
"Sure, my Ice Queen." Chloe said causing them both to giggle, that nickname used to be a way of bullying in her past school years ago, but since she moved to Wyndon and met Chloe, most students call her like that out of respect due to her battling style involving Ice Types.
"Still, what kind of Pokemon is that?" Chloe looked for her Rotom Phone and opened the Pokedex App to scan Zorua.
-No Data Available- The phone informed.
"Uh? That's really weird, my dad always makes sure this thing is updated." Chloe said.
"Could it be a new species then?" Regina asked.
"I really doubt a new species could be hiding so close to a town full of people without anyone noticing." Chloe looked in her backpack for on a pair of pink gloves and put them on to try and take Zorua again, but the Pokemon made a sudden jump to Regina's shoulder once Chloe tried to get close. "What's the matter now?"
"Well, I'm not sure about you, but I would also be scared of someone who tossed me like a ball a few moments ago."
"I'm sorry, it was a reflex." Chloe said embarrassed.
"Yeah, sure." Regina said. "...You know what? I'm taking this guy home with me."
"Are you sure you want to stay with her?" Chloe asked. "We still don't even know what it is."
"Well, she seems to be calmed around me, and I've been looking for an appropriate playmate for Mirche." Regina looked at her Glaceon who nodded and then she looked at the Zorua. "What do you say?"
"..." Zorua simply gave a silent nod, since she heard them talk with Dawn, she imagined it would be the safest to stay with them until she could find Akari again.
"That's great, but you'll need a nickname." Regina raised Zorua up. "Can you think of anything, Chloe?"
"Not really, you know I'm not good with Pokemon nicknames." Chloe answered. "...But well, there isn't much of a reason to stay here, we should just get back to Galar."
"It's still kind of a shame, I really wanted to meet your friend." Regina said. "I've seen her in contests and she's amazing. What do you think that emergency she mentioned could be?"
"I have no idea." Chloe sighed. "Dawn is a great friend, but she's a bit too unexpected sometimes, I prefer to spend time with more boring and predictable people, like you."
"I'm going to pretend that wasn't an insult." Regina rolled her eyes. "So that's the reason you broke up with Goh? Was he too unpredictable for your taste?"
"Don't make this day worse than it already is!" Chloe shouted and started to walk away while Regina followed her.
Meanwhile with our heroes.
Ash and his girlfriends were currently in a private jet, courtesy of Macro Cosmos enterprises, Peonia only had to make a quick call to her uncle, of course she didn't gave any details besides saying it was a good opportunity to be ready to become a Gym Leader, and Rose didn't question.
Taking in consideration the weather differences between Alola and Galar, the girls looked for more appropriate clothes for the occasion, Nessa had an ocean blue dress that reached her knees, along the same straw hat from earlier. Gloria had a clear blue shirt and green shorts, still with Ash's Hoenn hat in her head. Bea had a simple sleeveless white shirt and blue loose jeans, with her trusty hairband up there. Lastly, Peonia was wearing gray shorts and an orange shirt with her usual jacket wrapped around her waist and a pair of sunglasses above her hair. All the girls were wearing sandals as well. As for Ash... he was still wearing his usual Galar travel clothes, he was too agitated to pick some special clothes, and the girls couldn't calm him down enough to pick him some clothes for him, but they agreed to choose something for him once they landed in Alola.
The five of them were sitting in a semi circle of seats, with Ash in the middle, Bea and Gloria to his left, and Nessa and Peonia to his right. While Pikachu was sitting on his own small seat in the middle of the circle and the plane had almost reached Alola up to that point.
"This is is so exciting!" Gloria exclaimed. "First I become Ash's girlfriend and then I get to travel with him to Alola just in the same day!"
"You still sound more like a fan than a girlfriend though." Bea said.
"W-Well, when you've admired someone for so long you still kinda look up to them." Gloria answered embarrassed.
"That's just fine, but I'll have to agree with you, I also think this pretty exciting." Bea said watching the islands afar from the window. "When Ash told me about the regions he visited, this was one the places I was hoping to see the most with him."
"I still would have liked a bit more than 30 minutes to prepare myself though." Nessa said.
"Sorry, sorry, I know I pretty much dragged you all here with me." Ash answered. "But I really needed to come to Alola and we just started our relationship, it wouldn't have been fair to leave you just like that in Galar."
"Don't worry, it's fine, this seems like the perfect opportunity to spend time together." Nessa smiled.
"Still, be glad that Nessa and I could ask for permissions." Peonia said. "And I'm really doing this for you, I'm not that fond of sun, beach and heat."
"That's why it'll be a good chance of pace for someone like you whose always been used to the cold temperatures of the Tundra." Nessa said. "And it'll be a good place to teach how to swim."
"I'm beginning to reconsider that request." Peonia said.
"Look at the bright side, if you drown, it'll be Ash's duty as a boyfriend to give you CPR." Gloria said.
"Uh... by the way Nia, thank you for finding us this flight." Ash told her.
"It's nothing, I'm sure you'll find a way to repay me." Nia answered with a teasing look at her boyfriend. "So, to recap, we're visiting the people who you lived with while you we were in Alola."
"Yes, Kukui and Burnet." Ash answered. "They're like second parents to me, but apparently Burnet has been pregnant and nobody told me about that... and that makes me realize that this is the first time I'll be back to Alola since I became champion, I wonder what should I expect."
"That's something we should really take in consideration." Peonia said. "You could roam free in Galar, but this is your region, we could have paparazzi all around, I mean, imagine if we had taken a normal plane, we probably couldn't even talk like we're doing right now without having people suspect, I wonder if we'd even have time for ourselves."
"I'll find time for you four, you can be sure of it." Ash said.
"I hope you can." Peonia said. "I don't want to hog you, it's fun to share you with the girls, but I'd like to have that solo date that you mentioned."
"Oh, me too!" Nessa said.
"W-What about me?" Gloria asked.
"I'll have a solo date with each of you, promise." Ash said holding Bea's hand. "And that includes you, of course."
"I know, but again, in which order is it going to be?" Bea asked. "We couldn't have that tournament after all."
"Perhaps we could play lottery." Nessa said.
"That sounds a bit cheap, I still want to have that tournament." Peonia said.
"Yeah, we can always have it when we land." Gloria said. "Where are we sleeping by the way?"
"Well, we're definitely not staying in Ash's second parents' house." Bea said. "We'll have to take one or two rooms at a hotel."
"I think it'll be better to stay in a villa or a rentable house to have more space and privacy." Nessa suggested. "It's a bit more expensive, but with Ash's, Peonia's and my own income the rent won't be a problem."
"Sure, the rich always humiliating the poor." Gloria laughed and then raised a hand. "Dibs on sleeping in Ash's bed!"
"That's very easy to say, isn't it?" Bea raised an eyebrow. "By the way Nessa, what happened to Valerie?"
"She told me she didn't feel like traveling, sadly." Nessa said. "But Matthews and Fredricks will take good care of her."
"I hope she's okay..." Ash trailed off.
"Why wouldn't she be?" Peonia asked.
"Ash is just worried about her." Nessa answered. "Valerie had some lows a few weeks ago, but she's fine now."
"Attention passengers, we're almost arriving to our destiny." The pilot of the aircraft talked through a speaker. "Please, fasten your seatbelts."
"I can't wait to see what kind of adventures we'll have in this region!" Gloria exclaimed excited.
"Ash, you have to show us everything!" Nessa exclaimed as well.
"Yeah, I've been guiding you in Galar so you better show us around here." Bea said.
"Girls..." Ash looked at them with a blushing smile. "Thank you all for coming with me here. You have no idea how much this means to me."
"Ash, you still don't get it?" Peonia giggled as she got out of her seat and went to hug him. "We are your girlfriends and your are our boyfriend, you promised to make us happy and we'll make you happy as well. Something as important as this to you is important for us as well. Isn't that right, girls?"
Bea, Nessa and Gloria gave a nod and they all rose from their seats to hug Ash together.
"I-I love you all, I swear I do." Ash smiled as he embraced them.
"We know, silly." Nessa answered.
"And we love you too." Gloria said.
"Even with the sharing and everything." Bea said.
"Attention passengers, we'll be a facing a short period of strong turbulence before landing in the airport, hope you all have your seatbelts on."
"AAAAAH!"
Ash tightly hugged them all and everyone landed safely.
Miette's Bakery, Lumiose City, Kalos.
"WELCOME BACK!" the people inside the store greeted Serena.
"My, thank you guys." Serena said as she entered the bakery which was full of decorations. "This place looks amazing Miette, you must be proud."
"You bet I am." Miette smiled.
"And I helped with the decorations!" Shauna said.
"I'm so glad to have you back!" Grace went to hug her daughter. "You're gonna tell me everything that happened in Hoenn, got it?"
"Sure thing, Mom." Serena nodded and then received a hug from Bonnie.
"I can't believe you ruined the surprise, Shauna!" Bonnie complained. "It was going to be so perfect!"
"At least you texted to tell us to not waste energy with the surprise." Clemont sighed.
"How's my rising star?" Ariana was the next to hug Serena. "These seasons of performances have been so boring without you, there hasn't been a single performer talented enough to face against Aria like you did."
"Hey, I got pretty close last time!" Shauna ranted.
"Maybe, but you only passed to the finals because I chose to back down." Miette said leaving Shauna dead inside.
"Wait, you're retired from performances?" Serena asked her.
"Not totally, I wanted to focus in opening my bakery so I had to abandon last season." Miette explained. "But that doesn't mean I can't have a glorious return in the future."
"I see...Thank you all for coming here, it's been so long since I've seen you all..." Serena said looking around. "Korrina, really didn't expect you to be here."
"Oh, please, we're friends, aren't we?" Korrina said.
"Of course, but I imagined you'd be busy with your Gym Leader duties..." Serena answered. "By the way, Shauna and Miette told me you talked with Ash recently, how is he?"
"H-He's fine." Korrina stuttered. "You know, a little bummed out for not being able to come to the party, the Gym challenge has been keeping him really busy."
"That's still a little weird." Flannery talked. "I mean, Ash left the challenge in hold to go and see May in the world contest, this doesn't seem much different, I wonder why he couldn't come to the party."
"W-Well, I bet the more he advances, the worse it gets for him." Korrina said. "The Gyms in Galar are pretty strong after all."
"Could I have his number to talk with him then?" Serena asked.
"I-I left my phone at home unfortunately." Korrina answered.
"Well, I have his number in my Rotom Phone." Flannery said.
"Of course you have it." Korrina sighed while Flannery gave Serena the number.
"And there it is." Flannery smiled.
"Thanks a lot." Serena said. "...Now that I think about it, who are you?"
"Oh, my name is Flannery. Pleasure to meet you." She answered. "I'm also good friends with Ash and Korrina. And I saw you in some contests with May in Hoenn."
"Pleasure is mine, Flannery, and thanks again." Serena took her own Rotom Phone and saved the number, she then hesitated a moment, but put the phone back in her bag.
"You won't call him now?" Ariana asked.
"No, I think I'll wait." Serena answered. "We're here for party today, aren't we?"
"Good, he must probably be too busy to talk with you anyway." Korrina sighed.
"Why do you keep saying that?" Serena asked. "Like sure, he's taking the challenge and all that, but you know Ash, he wouldn't be busy for a friend."
"Well, he was too busy to visit me!" Korrina suddenly exclaimed. "Why would it be any different with you?!"
"Maybe because I was his traveling companion for over a year!" Serena answered. "Meanwhile, you're just one of those dozens of Gym Leaders he met for a few days and he probably forgot about you all together before you called him!"
"Grr..." Korrina simply clenched her fists in silence while Serena and her traded glares
"Hey guys, sorry for being late." Astrid entered the bakery and noticed the situation. "Uh...I feel a bit of tension here."
"Now easy there." Grace stood between Serena and Korrina. "I think you both should focus in what you have in front of each other."
"I'm pretty sure they're focusing on each other right now." Bonnie said slightly worried.
"That's not what I mean, I'm saying Serena is finally back in Kalos after two years in Hoenn, this should be cause for celebration, not conflict." Grace said. "Let's have that party, shall we?"
"Of course..." Serena trailed off.
"Yeah... sorry about that outburst." Korrina sighed.
"...Would you give us a moment?" Miette took Shauna by her wrist and guided her outside of the bakery. "Call me crazy, but I'm starting to think Korrina lied about telling Ash about the party."
"Yeah, she's acting weird." Shauna agreed. "Do you think she likes Ash as well?"
"She does." Flannery appeared next to the two.
"AAAH!" The two performers shouted hugging to each other.
"Sorry, sorry, I also need a bit of fresh air from that." Flannery said. "I don't want to make accusations, but it seems like Korrina never told Ash about the party to begin with."
"So she's trying to steal Ash from Serena!" Shauna exclaimed and then pointed at Miette. "L-Like you were doing before!"
"Wait, you also like Ash?" Flannery asked her.
"Well, at first I was only trying to push Serena to confess her feelings to him, but with all the time I spent with Ash I unironically fell for him as well." Miette explained.
"I see, but Shauna, in any case it wouldn't be stealing him from Serena." Flannery continued. "Ash is still single so he doesn't belong to any girl yet."
"You're saying that with quite some confidence." Miette raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, I also like him." Flannery admitted. "And I don't want to brag, but I've had probably spent more time with Ash than you, not to mention, more recently."
"It's not about quantity, but quality." Miette gave a smug grin. "I had a very elegant dance with him and we shared some sweets a couple times. What did you do?"
"Well, I pressed my chest on his back while I gave him a massage, have you done that with him?" Flannery asked and then giggled. "Oh, wait, you can't."
"I also like Ash!" Shauna suddenly shouted and the two other girls simply looked at her. "Y-You were both just talking about it, I couldn't handle the pressure! I love him! But I didn't want Serena to be mad at me! I have dreams about him all the time! I want him to grab my twin tails like handles and then-!"
"Alright, this conversation obviously isn't working!" Miette interrupted. "Let's all get back inside before Serena and Korrina burn each other with their glares, fine?"
"Fine." Flannery said.
"F-Fine." Shauna answered.
"Fine!" Miette repeated.
"Everyone falls in love with Ash meanwhile I simply want a rematch." Astrid said to herself after hearing the whole conversation from the door. "I just feel like our battle at the league was too short."
Meanwhile in the Melemele hospital.
The ghostly trio of Acerola, Phoebe and Shauntal was making their way out of the hospital, after accompanying Burnet to the place, they had stayed a bit with Delia to discuss how they'd set up Ash and Acerola.
"Well, that was intense." Shauntal talked.
"The baby is so beautiful!" Acerola exclaimed. "The miracle of life is wonderful! I can't wait to have mine own with Ash!"
"You still need to wait a couple more years though." Phoebe tried to talk some sense as always. "And it's not as enjoyable for the lady as you may think it is."
"Hmm, that actually gives me an idea for a new book." Shauntal said.
"Please don't make it about what I think you'll make it." Phoebe sighed. "Acerola, you're only 16, having kids is not the kind of things you should be thinking about."
"Yeah, yeah, people always says that's something to think in the future, but why leave for tomorrow what you can do today?" Acerola asked.
"Just let her dream, Phoebe." Shauntal said.
"Sure, but...Hey, isn't that Ash?" Phoebe pointed at the distance and the trio saw Ash and his four girlfriends walking at the hospital.
"Wow, I supposed he'd come soon, but that was fast." Shauntal said.
"A-A-Ash..." Acerola stuttered blushing
"It's a good chance to say hello Acerola, but don't overboard." Phoebe told her and looked at our heroes again. "Hey, Ash, Bea! Over here!"
"Phoebe?" Ash recognized her and the group stopped in front of the ghost trainers.
"It's been a while, guys." Phoebe greeted them. "I haven't seen you since that time in the cruise when Bea drowned Ash to death."
"You did what?" Gloria asked looking at her.
"T-That's not important." Bea coughed while Pikachu, who was on top of Gloria's hat, glared at her.
"I see you made it back to Alola." Ash said to Phoebe.
"This is the where I belong after all." Phoebe smiled. "But you could have mentioned you were the champion of the region."
"Sorry, I guess I wasn't thinking about it at the moment."
"So you're the reason of all the ruckus." Shauntal said.
"Ruckus?" Nessa asked.
"Nothing, name's Shauntal, pleasure to meet you." She offered a handshake to Ash. "Phoebe told me how she met you and of course you already know Acer...uh, Phoebe, where is she?" She asked noticing the younger girl wasn't with them anymore.
"She was right here a few moments ago." Phoebe said looking around.
"Looks like she vanished once she saw you." Shauntal said.
"Who vanished?" Peonia asked.
"I'm gonna suppose you're talking about Acerola, right?" Ash said.
"H-How did you know that?" Phoebe asked surprised.
"Just a wild guess." Ash pointed a nearby plant and spotted a purple hair coming from its pot.
"Now that's interesting." Phoebe giggled. "Ash, would you care to go and say hi to her?"
Ash gave a nod and walked to the other side of the plant to find a blushing Acerola sitting behind it.
"Uh...A-Alola, Ash." She waved at him nervously.
"Alola, Acerola, it's nice to see you again." Ash answered while she stood up in front of him. "Why were you hiding, uh?"
"B-Because of you maybe." She answered with a massive blush doing her best to look him eye to eye. "I-I wasn't ready to see you again...but I'm happy that you're back."
"Well, I'm happy to be back as well." Ash answered. "You're actually my first Alolan friend I see since returning, so thanks for the welcoming."
"I-It's nothing... I'm really glad you consider me one of your friends." Acerola smiled. "A-Ash, I... I've been thinking for weeks about how to tell you this, I-"
"Sorry, we need to leave right now." Phoebe interrupted standing in front of Acerola "You came to see Burnet, didn't you Ash?"
"Uh, yes, do you know where she is?" Ash asked.
"Sure, we were...paying her a visit when it all happened and we accompanied her here to the hospital." Phoebe explained. "She's in the room 0623."
"Thanks a lot Phoebe. See you later Acerola." Ash ran inside the building being followed by his girlfriends.
"So...none of us is going to question those four girls that were with him?" Shauntal asked.
"W-Why didn't you let me tell him?!" Acerola complained.
"I'm sorry, but I still don't feel like you're ready to let it all out." Phoebe said.
"She's right, we still have a lot to prepare." Shauntal added. "But don't worry, you and your prince will be together sooner than you expect."
"B-But I-"
"Now there, you wanted our help, did you not?" Shauntal asked.
"I...y-yes, sorry, I'll do whatever you say if that means I'll get a chance with Ash."
"That's just great." Phoebe smiled while giving Acerola a headpat. "Don't you worry Acerola, your big sis has everything under control... I can't wait to see you with the man of your dreams."
Meanwhile inside the hospital.
"Alright, room 0623, that means sixth floor right?" Ash asked. "L-Let's just take the elevator, a-and then we'll look for the room just fine."
"Ash, calm down." Bea walked to him. "You don't need to be so agitated, they're not going anywhere."
"S-Sorry, I'm still a little angry that Kukui didn't tell me about all this." Ash answered. "They're like family to me, and I felt like I was like family for them as well, why wouldn't they tell me about something so important?"
"Best way to find out is asking them, don't you think?" Bea asked.
"Of course...well, let's go." Ash lead the girls to the elevator and it went directly to the sixth floor. "I just need to calm down and everything will be great."
"Hey there, Ashy-Boy!"
"Gary?" Ash asked as he saw him once the doors of the elevator opened.
"Ha! I bet you already forgot I was in Alola, didn't you?" He laughed while Ash and the girls walked out.
"Uh, yes I think I did." Ash answered.
"I guess that's fair, you've been busy." Gary answered as he looked at Ash's companions. "And who are all these lovely ladies?"
"They're not some of your cheerleaders so leave them alone!" Ash exclaimed standing in front of the four.
"ooooo, Ash's jealous side. I like it." Nessa whispered to the other girls.
"What are you doing here in the hospital anyway?" Gary continued. "I came for a friend who's also visiting Alola. apparently she got poisoned with a plant. She got me really worried, but she's fine now, although you'd think she'd know better since her starter is a Venusaur."
"Glad you care about her, but I need to-"
"Either way, you're here now, how about a battle?" Gary interrupted. "How long has it been since our last rematch?"
"I'm sorry Gary, but I can't fight you right now." Ash answered.
"Wow, wow, wow, wow, Ash Ketchum rejecting a fight? That's something new." Gary said.
"I told you, I need to-"
"Geez, chill out Ash, I'm just-"
"GARY OAK, I GOT MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO THAN HEAR YOUR BRAGGING!" Ash bursted out. "SO YOU GET OUT OF MY FCKING WAY THIS INSTANT OR I SWEAR I'LL KICK YOU OUT OF A WINDOW!"
"..." Gary simply moved out of the way and stood next to a wall. Ash sighed and began to walk away followed by the girls, but Gary got interested in the situation and decided to follow Ash as well.
"There, room 19, room 21, there it is!" Ash pointed at the door and did his best to calm down, but the moment he was about to grab the knob of the door, someone else opened it from inside.
"Mom?!" Ash exclaimed.
"MOM?!" The four girls shouted.
"Oh, hi honey!" Delia greeted him as he hugged him. "Glad you made it here too!"
"W-What are you doing in Alola?!" Ash shouted.
"I decided to visit Kukui and Burnet after that talk we had. And after learning Burnet was expecting, I decided to stay with them until the moment arrived, you know, to help Kukui with the house while he was at work and Burnet rested." Delia answered and then looked at the girls who were with Ash. "Nessa, is that you?"
"Uh, y-yeah, glad you remember me, Miss Ketchum." Nessa waved at her extremely nervous.
"Wait, you had already met with Mom?" Ash asked Nessa.
"We had a chat after that photo session you and I took together." Nessa answered.
"And what was that talk about?" Ash asked.
"Oh, nothing, I just congratulated her for how good she looked with you." Delia answered. "Isn't that right, Nessa?"
"Y-Yes, of course." Nessa nodded scared.
"And you must be Gloria." Delia pointed at her. "You better take care of that hat, I made it myself."
"S-Sure! Of course, Miss Ketchum!" Gloria stuttered.
"And if I had to imagine one of the remaining two must be Bea."
"T-That's me!" Bea raised a hand. "P-Pleasure to meet you, Miss Ketchum."
"And who might you be then?" Delia looked at the last girl.
"M-My mine is Peonia!" She exclaimed. "I-I mean, my name!"
"Well, I haven't heard of you until now, but don't worry, a friend of Ash is a friend of mine." Delia answered. "It's a pleasure to meet you all."
"That's great Mom, but there's something I need to explain to you." Ash said.
"Calm down, the delivery was really smooth and the baby is a healthy boy, Burnet is just a little tired." Delia said.
"Right, the baby!" Ash exclaimed. "C-Can I...can I go in?"
"You all can." Delia nodded. "Burnet is awake right now, but she's got some visitors already so try to not overwhelm her."
"Got it..." Ash took a deep breath and slowly opened the door, the first thing he saw was Burnet closely holding her sleeping baby on the hospital bed, with Kukui sitting on the edge of the bed next to her, meanwhile Mallow, Lana, Sophocles and Kiawe were all standing around them.
"So the champion returns." Kiawe greeted him.
"We're glad to have you back!" Sophocles continued.
"H-Hi, Ash!" Mallow stuttered.
"Welcome back!" Lana added.
"There's our man!" Kukui walked to him and tried to go for a hug, but Ash stopped him and held him by his lab coat.
"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" Ash exclaimed.
"Hehehe, Mallow and Lana told me you'd be mad, but-"
"HOW COME I'M THE LAST PERSON ON EARTH TO FIND OUT ABOUT THIS?!" Ash continued. "WHEN DID YOU EVEN HAVE TIME TO DO THAT?! I WAS LIVING WITH YOU FOR MONTHS!"
"Well, do you remember that Motel 6 with a hot hub that Burnet and I visited during a weekend?" Kukui asked.
"THAT STILL DOESN'T EXPLAIN WHY YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!" Ash shouted again.
"S-Sorry, I swear I was about to tell you, but with how busy you've been in Galar..."
"I'm tired of people saying that." Ash answered finally letting Kukui go. "It doesn't matter how important a battle may be, there's no way I'd prioritize them over my friends and family."
"You're right. I was just being stupid." Kukui admitted with a sigh to then receive a hug from Ash.
"Now that you two got over that." Burnet giggled. "Ash, won't you come here?"
Ash smiled and carefully went to hug Burnet, taking a closer look at the baby after he did. "What's his name?"
"He's Lei." Burnet answered. "Do you want to carry him?"
"N-No, I can't-"
"Ash, please, it'd make us really happy." Kukui insisted.
"I...I guess I..." Ash gulped as Burnet handed over Lei to him, and he carried him on his arms, but staying as close to Burnet as he could.
"H-He's... he's so small, I..." Ash was interrupted by a small yawn that came from Lei, the baby then woke up and looked up at him. "I...I-I-" Ash stuttered unsure of what to do, he expected the baby to cry, but he was simply looking intently at him in silence.
"Lei, this is Ash." Kukui talked to him placing a hand over Ash's shoulder. "He's your big brother."
"Yes, I'm...I-I'm your big brother." Ash smiled at the baby with a few tears on his eyes that eventually dropped on Lei's forehead. "Oh no, I-I'm sorry-!" Ash apologized, but all he received was a small laugh from Lei, who was now smiling at him, Ash took a deep breath overwhelmed by feelings and then handed Lei back to Burnet to clean his tears. Ash then went to hug his mom and then ended up in front of his four girlfriends.
"You okay?" Bea asked.
"G-Girls, I..." Ash took a short pause and gave a small laugh. "I-I know this is gonna sound cheesy, but when the time comes... I'd like to have babies with you all." He whispered only for them to hear leaving the four girls blushing to their limit.
"Y-You sweet cinnamon roll, I'll give you all the babies that you want." Nessa hugged Ash and then kissed him right on the lips, much to the surprise of everyone in the room.
"B-Babies..." Gloria got lost in her fantasies for a moment, hiding her face with her cap and causing Pikachu to fall on the ground since he was still on top of the cap.
"Y-You really shouldn't tell us something like that out of the blue." Peonia smiled embarrassed. "B-But after seeing you there, I'd be happy as well."
"Uh, Y-Yeah, sounds good." Bea took one of Ash's hand embarrassed and tried to go for a kiss as well, but the group then remembered they were in a room full of people.
"Uh, Ash, would you mind introducing us to your friends?" Burnet asked.
"W-What should we do?" Gloria whispered to the other girlfriends. "We can't tell them about that, can we?"
"They already saw Nessa kissing him." Peonia whispered as well. "Let's say she's his girlfriend and the rest of us are just friends."
"But that would mean you three can't act as his girlfriends for as long as we're here." Nessa said.
"And wouldn't you like that?" Bea asked annoyed.
"N-No, I told you we're in this together, leaving you aside wouldn't be fair." Nessa said.
"No, it wouldn't be fair." Ash thought in silence for a moment and then looked at his friends and family.
"Everyone, this are Bea, Nessa, Peonia and Gloria..." He presented one by one. "And they are... these lovely girls are my four girlfriends."
"ASH!" The four of them shouted together.
"Oh my..." Delia trailed off.
"Told you, Kukui." Burnet said.
"Fine, I owe you 20 bucks." Kukui sighed.
"Who would've thought?" Kiawe asked.
"Quite unorthodox indeed." Sophocles nodded.
"B-But Mallow and I were going to-"
"Sssssh!"
"Heh, not bad Ashy-boy, not bad at all." Gary said entering the room.
Meanwhile in Sinnoh.
"Here, these are your original clothes, aren't they?" Danika approached the cell and passed Akari's jacket and the rest of her past clothing through a small window.
"Uh, yes, thank you." Akari answered taking them.
"It'll be the best if you have them on when we send you back." Danika explained and then looked at Johanna. "Your house has been completely fixed by the way."
"Thanks, I guess." Johanna sighed. "Will you let us go now?"
"As I already told you, until our visitor returns you must stay here as well." Danika answered. "Akari, you didn't bring anything else besides your clothes and that weird phone, right?"
"Y-Yes, well, that and my Pokemon." Akari answered.
"They're all safely stored, don't worry." Danika assured. "We'll give them to you before sending you back, they must all return with you...but with a little condition."
"Condition?" Akari asked.
"Your Pokemon have been extinct do a while over here, so we're extracting a few strands of DNA from them to try and reintroduce them to the present time." Danika explained. "But don't worry, that doesn't hurt them all, nor will cause them any negative effects."
"Well, as long as they're not harmed I guess that's okay then." Akari said. "So did you find my Zorua?"
"A Zorua?" Danika asked.
"Y-Yes, she's my first partner, I accidentally left her in the house during our fight."
"No, sorry, but the team didn't find any Zorua." Danika said.
"I beg you, you have to find her!" Akari pleased as she knelt. "I can't leave without her, I couldn't live with myself knowing I abandoned her!"
"Ok, ok, calm down!" Danika said. "I'll do all I can to find your Zorua, I promise."
"T-Thank you!" Akari bowed to her. "Sorry for fighting you, I...I didn't mean to interfere with this time's authority, but this place is still all new for me."
"It's fine." Danika answered. "Honestly, had I been in your place, I probably would have done all I could to fight back. This isn't your fault anyways."
"Listen, I'm glad you're not some intergalactic bounty hunter, but could you at least tell Dawn that we're here?" Johanna asked. "She's gonna be really worried if she can't contact us."
"...I'll try to, but I have orders, if they don't let me, there's nothing I can do." She answered and then walked away. "So I suggest you to make yourselves comfortable."
Back in Alola.
"L-Like you heard! They're all my girlfriends!" Ash said. "A-And you guys are all important to me, there's no way I'd hide something like this to you."
"Well, a male dating additional people of the opposite sex is the most efficient for the population." Sophocles said.
"Though I don't think he's dating them all to be efficient, you know?" Kiawe replied. "But Ash, you know you have my respect and I'd never judge you. I imagine you have your reasons, but I'll have to ask you to stay away from Mimo from now on."
"So your Mom is fair game then?" Sophocles asked.
"YOU!" Kiawe shouted and Sophocles quickly ran out of the room with Kiawe following him.
"Ash, I...I'll admit that when Delia told us about your indecisive situation with the girls, I didn't expect you to go this far." Kukui laughed. "But as long as you believe you're up to the test, and as long as these girls are fine with it, then you have my support."
"And of course, that includes my support as well." Burnet added. "Congrats Ash."
"Thanks you two." Ash answered. "Mom, are you-"
"I'M SO HAPPY!" Delia ran and hugged Ash and his four girlfriends at the same time. "Oh, this is- this is so wonderful, Ash, I know you've done amazing things, but this is definitely on top of them all, willing to take responsibility of all these beautiful girls, you looked so conflicted back then, I'm glad you chose them all, I hope they make you happy."
"O-Of course, miss Ketchum." Nessa was the first to talk. "I promise you we will make Ash even happier than he has made us."
"Wait a sec, so you were lying when we had that call and you said Ash was only your friend?!" Delia shouted.
"N-No, no way!" Nessa stuttered. "We were just friends back then, this whole relationship is still recent."
"Well, that's great." Delia smiled at them. "Nessa, Gloria, Peonia, Bea. I'm leaving my Ash in your care."
"Thank you, Miss Ketchum." Peonia said.
"You can be sure we'll always be there for him!" Gloria added.
"And we'll protect him from anything, just like he always protect us." Bea ended.
"That makes me glad...Alright Ash, listen, I know this will sound bad coming from me." Delia continued. "But if you already have four, are you willing to have more girlfriends than them?"
"Uh, well yes." Ash answered. "I've been thinking a lot about that, there are a few other girls I have in mind."
"Oh, that's perfect!" Delia exclaimed. "Listen, there's this girl that will be a perfect addition to your family!"
"Addition?" Kukui asked. "Delia, as good as we know Ash is, I really don't think you should encourage him like that to take this further."
"Well sorry, but as Ash's mother I'd just like to have a part in this...that didn't sound well." Delia coughed. "Anyway, Ash. Do you remember Acerola?"
"Of course. I just met with her in the entrance of the hospital actually." Ash replied. "Don't tell me she-"
"She's head over heels head for you!" Delia exclaimed with a smile. "Ash, she went to Kukui's house to get his blessing to be with you, but well, I was there and after she explained it all I gave her mine instead, she's so pure and polite and when she talked about how you made her feel." Delia took a pause to clean her tears. "Please Ash, you have to go and see her. I'm sure she'd love to be your girlfriend as well."
"Wow, I've never seen you so eager to get me a girlfriend." Ash laughed. "So Acerola...girls?" He looked at them for approval. "I know I didn't tell you about her, but that's because this was a bit unexpected, you heard Mom and I suppose you saw her in the entrance, Acerola is a caring and helpful girl."
"She's also in care of the Malie library and is the second-in-command of the whole Ula'Ula island here in Alola, so she's really responsible as well." Delia added remembering her conversation with Phoebe. "I know it's up to Ash and you, but I... I promised Acerola I'd help her be with him and I don't want to believe that I gave her false hopes, so, what do you all say?"
"She did seem quite obvious." Nessa said. "It's fine by me."
"Well, at least if she jumps in I won't be the youngest anymore." Gloria said.
"This isn't my first rodeo, Miss Ketchum." Bea smiled at her and then looked at Ash. "If you're feeling it go for her."
"We'll welcome her in if she wants to join the fray." Peonia added.
"Thanks you girls, but I haven't forgot about those dates I owe you all." Ash answered. "...Still, if Acerola went with Kukui and Burnet; and was direct with my Mom, she must be serious about her feelings, I have to talk with her."
"Well, why don't you go now?" Delia suggested. "Burnet and I would love to have a ladies talk with your girlfriends."
"Then I-"
"ACEROLA?!" Mallow shouted and everyone in the room looker at her. "Y-You're kidding right?!"
"I... I'm just noticing you two haven't said anything since I dropped the bomb." Ash walked to Lana and Mallow. "Are you two okay with this?"
"This is actually kinda funny, Ash." Lana said as she blushed. "T-To be honest, we were going to ask you if-" She was about to explain, but Mallow held her wrist and stopped her.
"Ash... I'm disappointed." Mallow said under her breath and ran out of the room in silence.
"...I'm going with her." Lana walked to the door, but before leaving she ran to Ash and gave him a hug. "I'm really glad you're back. I'll talk with Mallow about this, ok?"
"That'd be great, she always listens to you." Ash answered and Lana separated from him. "Tell her I'll go to visit her."
"Sure, I'll tell her. Don't worry, she's just a little moved." Lana said before leaving the room.
"Hmm...Ash, I think we should talk in private." Delia said and then looked at his son's girlfriends. "You all stay here with Burnet and Kukui, fine?"
"O-Of course, Miss Ketchum." Bea nodded and Delia took Ash outside, while Gary simply clapped looking at Ash leave.
"I taught him everything he knows." Gary said.
Meanwhile in Wyndon.
"Dad, we're back!" Chloe said entering her family's lab along Regina who had Akari's Zorua in her arms.
"What? So fast?" Professor Cerise received them. "But you left to Sinnoh today in the morning, what happened?"
"It seems like Chloe's friend had an emergency and had to unexpectedly leave her home." Regina explained.
"And of course, she didn't tell us until we called her to tell her we were almost there!" Chloe complained.
"And who's this little guy?" Professor Cerise took a closer look to Zorua, but the Pokemon jumped away scared and hid beneath a couch.
"Now, easy there." Regina walked to the Zorua and pulled her out of the couch, holding her in her arms again. "We found her on our way to Dawn's house. She seems to be afraid of most people, except for me, and a bit less of Chloe too."
"Well, it looks like a Vulpix..." The professor said. "Or maybe a Growlithe...no, wait, it's a Zorua, but the color is different...Regina, would it be okay If I study her?"
"With due respect professor, I don't she'll let you." Regina answered. "As I told you, she's really shy."
"Fine, then I'll just take a photo of her, is that ok?" He asked.
"Sure, give me a second." Regina carefully left Zorua in the floor so Professor Cerise could take a clear picture of her and then picked the fox back up once he did so.
"Thanks, I'll compare this photo to my database." Professor Cerise said and then left the two girls alone.
"Guess I'll go back home." Regina said.
"Wait, to compensate that failed trip, why don't you stay for a sleepover?" Chloe suggested.
"That sounds good actually. I still have my extra clothes packed. Just let me call my parents." Regina agreed and the two friends went to Chloe's room together.
Back in Alola.
Delia and Ash were now sitting together in a bench right outside the hospital.
"Is there a problem, Mom?" He asked.
"N-No, sorry, it's just that seeing your friend react like that that worried me a little." She answered. "You think she'll be fine?"
"I hope so, Mallow is one of my dearest friends. I couldn't stand having her hate me because of my girlfriends."
"My little son still hasn't matured completely." Delia unexpectedly hugged him with a laugh. "But you welcomed in all those girls in your life, I bet you all will be the happiest people on earth."
"Thanks, Mom." Ash answered hugging her as well. "But did we really need to come out here to talk about that?"
"I just don't want my daughters-in-law to get jealous if I pamper my son." Delia laughed. "As I told you, Burnet and I still need to have a talk with them, and Kukui will probably like to have a man talk with you as well."
"Of course..." Ash sighed.
"IT'S YOU!" A voice shouted near them and the two saw Elaine running at them and stopping panting right before them. "You're the guy that Mina drew!"
"I'm what?" Ash asked and Elaine's Pikachu took the drawing that Mina made out her hat.
"Well, that's definitely you." Delia said.
"You were keeping that inside your cap?" Ash asked.
"Sabrina told me I'd meet a very important in Alola, and then Mina draw you, so it's you! You are that person!" Elaine shouted excitedly. "Who the hell are you?! Why are you so important?! A-Are you my future husband or something?!"
"Uh...considering how my last weeks have been, I honestly don't think I can confirm nor deny that." Ash answered.
"There you are, Elaine." Mina walked to the scene. "And I see you already found him."
"S-Sorry to leave you behind." Elaine answered at her. "But I saw him in the distance and I had to confirm it."
"Well, it seems you won the lottery." Mina said. "Alola, Ash, it's been a while."
"Alola, Mina." He answered and returned his sight to the younger girl. "So your name is Elaine?"
"Wait, Elaine?" Delia asked.
"Correct, I'm Elaine Ket-"
"I'll be doing the presentations if you don't mind." Mina interrupted them and pulled out a clean canvas. "Ash Ketchum, meet Elaine Ketchum Ayumi... your sister."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"WHAT?!" Ash shouted.
"WHAT?!" Elaine followed him.
"WHAT?!" Delia exclaimed as well.
"Aaaand priceless!" Mina smiled as she began to draw the expressions of the three.
