Chapter 159: Surprise! Double Achievement Reward!
"Yveltal, it's so late. Would you like to rest at my place?" Angie asked.
Yveltal nodded.
"Alright then, let's go." Angie took the lead, guiding Yveltal along the way.
"Yveltal~"
Yveltal spread its wings and soared into the air, flying above Angie's head as it followed him.
However, as they entered the compound, Angie suddenly realized that his home might not have a room spacious enough to accommodate the enormous Yveltal.
Yveltal's height alone, when standing, was nearly 6 meters. Including its full body length, it was even larger. No room was tall or wide enough for such a giant.
Metagross and Volcanion, following behind Angie, noticed his abrupt stop and paused as well.
"What's wrong?" Volcanion asked.
Angie replied, "I don't think we have a room big enough for Yveltal to stay in."
"Metagross~ Metagross~"
It can stay in the bar.
That's right! Why didn't I think of that? Angie slapped his forehead in realization.
Their secret fortress consisted of five levels, designed in an inverted triangle shape. The fifth floor was the smallest, while the first floor was the largest.
The fifth floor housed a pool, home to the Poliwag clan, Marill clan, and various aquatic Pokémon. It also contained the energy core.
The fourth floor was a brewery, equipped with the expensive brewing apparatus Angie had acquired earlier. Previously unused, it was now ready for the Passimian to put to good use.
The third floor served as a storage area, holding surplus vegetables, Plump Beans, homemade fermented bean paste, salted duck eggs, and century eggs.
The storage area came with a built-in preservation function. While not as advanced as a refrigerator, it kept stored items like vegetables fresh for an extended period. Since Diancie's Sacred Diamonds powered it, the preservation effect had become even stronger.
The second floor was an employee dormitory where most of the plateau Pokémon lived.
The first floor, however, was a bar!
The bar was the largest space in the entire secret fortress. Once the Passimian started brewing, this space could be utilized as intended.
Although not many Pokémon enjoyed drinking alcohol, Angie planned to eventually repurpose the space into a beverage shop. The system had unlocked the "Juice Drinks" feature, and after all, alcohol was also a type of drink.
The bar was furnished with numerous oversized, ultra-soft sofas. Whether a Pokémon was large or small, they could comfortably fit.
Yveltal staying there would be no problem at all.
Angie patted Metagross on the head. "Thanks for reminding me. Let's head to the secret fortress."
With that, Angie turned and walked toward the secret fortress.
There were two ways to enter the secret fortress: the usual elevator or by opening the ceiling of the base.
Given Yveltal's size, the elevator was out of the question. They had to let it enter through the ceiling.
The ceiling had voice-activated controls. As soon as Yveltal let out a cry, the ceiling slowly retracted, revealing a spiral staircase.
Angie and the others took the staircase down to the first floor of the secret fortress, while Yveltal flapped its wings, swooping down to land directly on the platform by the bar.
Hearing the commotion, the bar doors swung open, and Yveltal stepped inside.
Angie gestured toward the spacious bar interior, as wide as the plaza outside his house, and said, "Yveltal, how about staying here from now on?"
Yveltal nodded, flapped its wings, and flew to a massive sofa. Settling down, it folded its wings, curled up its body, and closed its eyes contentedly.
Human dwellings were indeed comfortable—far better than the caves, underground spaces, or underwater locations it had rested in before.
Seeing Yveltal sleeping peacefully, Angie quietly left with Metagross, Volcanion, and his Komala in hand.
After returning home, Angie found that his students had just finished their training. He told them about Yveltal's situation before letting them each head back to their rooms to sleep.
Once he had washed up, Angie sat on his bed and opened the system interface, intending to claim his rewards. He figured the task of feeding Yveltal had been successfully completed, as he vaguely remembered hearing a system notification earlier.
The moment the system loaded, a pop-up window appeared.
...
[ Congratulations, Host, on achieving the milestone: Hosting a Second Legendary Pokémon. ]
[ Rewards: Individual Values +5, Intelligence +3 ]
[ Congratulations, Host, on achieving the milestone: Convincing a Legendary Pokémon to Settle in Your Territory. ]
[ Rewards: Individual Values +5, Intelligence +3 ]
...
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!" Angie exclaimed, leaping off his bed in astonishment.
The rewards were unbelievably generous! He hadn't expected to complete two achievements at once.
Angie recalled that he had received a reward for feeding a deity when he first hosted Xerneas. Now, after hosting Yveltal, he had earned another achievement reward.
Could it be that every time he hosted a Legendary Pokémon, he would earn achievement rewards? Or was it that he could only earn a reward the first time he hosted a new Legendary Pokémon? After much consideration, Angie felt the latter was more likely.
Since Yveltal had decided to settle on Nebel Plateau, if the first theory were true, Angie would be in for a windfall! After all, every achievement reward was extremely valuable. But given the nature of the system, the first theory seemed a bit too good to be true.
Setting that aside, Angie decided to check the rewards for the other task.
Before claiming the feeding task reward, he collected his daily task rewards. The rewards for his three daily tasks were a bottle of peanut oil, a bottle of sesame oil, and a bag of premium MSG—not thrilling, but useful nonetheless.
Finally, it was time for the feeding task reward.
...
[ Congratulations, Host, on completing the (Feeding Task): Use Golden Nanab Berry, Golden Pinap Berry, and Golden Razz Berry to create a dish and feed it to Yveltal. ]
[ Reward: Designate one Pokémon to learn a signature move of a legendary Pokémon. ]
...
Angie froze in surprise. What did that even mean? Before he could ponder further, another pop-up appeared.
...
[ Please choose a Pokémon to designate ]
[ Diancie ]
[ Komala ]
[ Munchlax ]
[ Drizzile ]
[ Pawmi ]
[ Metagross ]
[ Gengar ]
[ Magearna ]
[ Volcanion ]
...
"Maybe I should choose Munchlax?" Angie thought, tapping on Munchlax's name. Instantly, the other options disappeared, and various legendary Pokémon icons began flashing rapidly on the screen in front of him.
Lugia, Ho-Oh, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina…
Finally, with a distinct "ding," the flashing icons stopped, and the image of Zamazenta in its Crowned Shield form appeared.
As the screen cleared, a new line of text popped up.
...
[ Congratulations, Host! Munchlax has learned Zamazenta (Crowned Shield)'s signature move: Behemoth Bash. ]
...
Angie suddenly understood. The reward allowed one of his Pokémon to learn a signature move unique to a legendary Pokémon!
Behemoth Bash! A Steel-type move with a base power of 100. When the opponent is in Dynamax form, the move's power doubles, making it an incredibly practical skill.
Not bad! Not bad! Angie was very pleased.
A legendary Pokémon's signature move, learned as a task reward—his Munchlax was going to become unstoppable!
Thinking this, Angie opened Munchlax's stats. Remembering that he had just gained 10 Individual Values, he allocated 7 points to Munchlax's physical defense.
Finally, Munchlax's Individual Values were maxed out!

Looking at Munchlax's stats, Angie felt an immense sense of satisfaction. Every bit of those Individual Values had been painstakingly earned through tasks!
The sense of accomplishment was overwhelming.
Although Angie was eager to test out the power of Behemoth Bash, it was already late. It would have to wait until tomorrow.
With 3 Individual Value points remaining, Angie didn't overthink and allocated them all to Drizzile, boosting its HP stat.
Finally, it was his second disciple's turn.

However, at level 44, Drizzile still hadn't evolved into Inteleon. Angie was getting a bit worried!
After closing Drizzile's stats, Angie checked his own data.

With 6 additional Intelligence points, Angie felt his Aura energy brimming!
After claiming all his rewards, Angie crawled into bed and slept soundly.
The next morning, Angie woke up early and went to wake Munchlax.
Munchlax rubbed its eyes groggily and stumbled out of bed. After a sleepy trip to the bathroom, it came out to find its master staring at it with sparkling eyes.
"Munchlax, don't you feel like something about you has changed?"
Munchlax pinched its own belly. Something different? Could it have gotten fatter?
Angie immediately guessed Munchlax's thoughts. Chuckling, he pinched its belly as well and offered a hint.
"It doesn't matter if you gain weight. I'm asking if you've learned a new move."
Hearing this, Munchlax clenched its fists and knocked on its head. Suddenly, its eyes lit up.
"Did you?" Angie asked eagerly.
"Munchlax~"
Munchlax grinned and nodded its head.
"Then shall we go try it out?" Angie suggested.
"Munchlax~"
Munchlax who is now excited, immediately dragged its trainer downstairs.
Soon, the two were outside on the grassy field beyond the courtyard wall.
"Munchlax, give it a try," Angie encouraged.
"Munchlax~"
Munchlax clenched its fists, let out a roar, and began to glow with a silvery light. A shimmering silver shield appeared before it.
This was the signature move of Zamazenta—Behemoth Bash!
"Munchlax~"
Munchlax roared again and charged forward with terrifying momentum.
Boom!
A thunderous crash echoed as the silver shield slammed into a large boulder lying on the grass, shattering it into pieces.
As the attack concluded, the silver shield dissolved into sparkling silver energy.
"Munchlax, amazing! That was incredible!" Angie cheered enthusiastically.
Munchlax, thrilled by the praise, kept using Behemoth Bash to charge around the field until it was utterly exhausted and collapsed on the ground.
When Pawmi, Magearna, and Pawmi came downstairs for their morning training, they found Munchlax sprawled out on the grass, completely drained.
Seeing Pawmi, Angie waved it over. "Pawmi, come here! Let's spar. You've been training hard lately; let me test your progress."
With his boosted Constitution and enhanced Aura, Angie felt full of energy and needed to blow off steam.
(???)
Me? With you? Pawmi was momentarily stunned.
"Pawmi~"
Fine, I won't hold back then!
An electric sparks flickered as Pawmi raised its fist and charged at Angie with Thunder Punch.
As Pawmi approached, Angie used Aura to adjust his stance. With a slight turn of his body, he nimbly dodged the attack and grabbed Pawmi's wrist.
In a flash, Angie flipped Pawmi over and slammed it hard into the ground.
"Pawmi~"
Pawmi cried out in pain as it left a dent in the grass.
Quickly recovering, Pawmi sprang back to its feet, electricity crackling across its body. With a powerful kick, it launched itself at Angie again.
"Bring it on!"
Angie shouted as he crouched low and launched himself forward at full speed.
Their fists collided mid-air. The electric current from Pawmi's Thunder Punch coursed through Angie's body, leaving him tingling all over.
But thanks to his high Constitution, Angie felt no pain—only a sensation akin to an invigorating electric massage.
"Pawmi, is that all you've got?"
Angie laughed as he grabbed Pawmi again and flung it away with force.
"Pawmi~"
Angie's taunt enraged Pawmi, who let out a loud cry. Lightning crackled wildly across its body as it prepared to charge again. Suddenly, a radiant light enveloped Pawmi.
"This is…" Angie froze in surprise.
The other Pokémon also turned their attention to Pawmi.
It was evolving.
Bathed in blue and white light, Pawmi's form began to grow larger, its appearance transforming.
When the light finally faded, a brand-new Pokémon stood before them.
Compared to Pawmi, this evolved Pokémon's fur had changed from its original orange to a pale yellow. Its once-round body was now sleeker, though it still retained a slightly chubby appearance.
This was Pawmi's evolved form—Pawmo.
