Chapter 161: Inteleon And The Task From Legendary Pokemon
"Do you know about the Tree of Beginning?" Angie asked Ash.
"The Tree of Beginning? Of course, I do!" Ash replied confidently.
"That's wonderful!" Angie beamed with joy. "Could you tell me where the Tree of Beginning is? I have something very important to do there."
"Sure thing," Ash agreed readily.
From Ash, Angie learned that the Tree of Beginning was connected to a place called Rota Town, located in the Kanto region.
To find the Tree of Beginning, Angie would first have to visit Rota Town.
Ash also mentioned that Rota Town had ties to the Aura Guardian.
Connected to the Aura Guardian? This revelation piqued Angie's interest in Rota Town even more.
After hanging up the phone, Angie took a deep breath and said, "It looks like a trip to the Kanto region is in order!"
Seeing Charcadet and Oinkologne looking at him with concern, Angie smiled and reassured them, "Don't worry. I already have a plan for how to help Xerneas."
Hearing this, the two Charcadet affectionately hugged Angie's legs, and the two Oinkologne nuzzled up to him.
"No matter what, let's go meet Xerneas first," Angie said.
"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"
"Oinkologne~ Oinkologne~"
Charcadet and Oinkologne nodded in agreement.
After giving Diancie some instructions, Angie prepared to set off for the Allearth Forest to visit Xerneas.
"Take care on your journey," Diancie reminded Angie.
Angie nodded. "I will. I'll be back as soon as I can."
With that, Angie cradled Komala, brought Pawmo in its Poké Ball, and rode Espathra to the Allearth Forest. The two Charcadet followed closely behind, each riding on Oinkologne.
What Angie didn't know was that shortly after his departure, Drizzile, who was busy at the Munchlax Home, evolved.
Drizzile had thought that with its current abilities, it could manage everything perfectly even without its master around. Surely, it could handle all the affairs of the Munchlax Home on its own.
However, when Angie left, Drizzile realized it had overestimated itself.
Business at the Munchlax Home was truly booming. Because of the limited operating hours, customers arrived in waves.
Drizzile had to cook porridge, steam buns, and prepare them, juggling everything at once in a whirlwind of chaos!
Only now did it understand how much of a burden Angie had lightened for it.
As more and more customers poured in, the responsibilities became overwhelming.
By around 9:00 AM, the shop reached its peak rush, and Drizzilewas at its wit's end.
At that moment, Meowstic tried to convince it.
"Meowstic~ Meowstic~"
Maybe we should close early today?
It's better to earn a little less than to risk ruining the shop's reputation. Some customers were already complaining about the slow service.
"Drizzile~ Drizzile~"
But Drizzile shook its head firmly, determined to keep the shop running.
Many guests came because of its reputation, and some had waited a long time for a seat. If it closed early, how many customers would be disappointed?
No way, it absolutely couldn't close early.
It had to safeguard Munchlax Home in its master's absence.
The reputation that Munchlax Home had built up couldn't fall apart under its watch!
With that thought, Drizzile became even more focused on its tasks.
Seeing Drizzile so stubborn, Meowstic could only sigh and shake its head, returning to the main hall to assist with greeting customers and calming them down.
Meanwhile, Ralts began performing its goofy dances it learned from TV, to lift the spirits of the crowd.
Ralts truly was adorable. Even though its dance moves were clumsy and awkward, its cuteness made everything it did entertaining.
The customers were soon laughing heartily, and the complaints about slow service eased up.
As time passed, Drizzile's hands were moving so quickly they seemed to blur. Its face showed intense concentration.
But maintaining this level of focus was exhausting, and gradually, Drizzile began to falter.
"If I could control psychic powers like my junior sibling, wouldn't I handle this chaos much better?" it wondered.
Just then, a bright light enveloped Drizzile, as though responding to its wish.
The blue-white glow wrapped around its entire body, and inside the light, its figure began to shift and grow.
When Meowstic and Espurr entered, they were greeted by the sight of Drizzile in the mid of evolution. Instinctively, they held their breath, afraid of disturbing it.
Drizzile had finally evolved!
When the glow faded, a brand-new Pokémon stood before them.
Its blue skin, yellow wing membranes, and black limbs gave it the appearance of a dapper gentleman in a tuxedo.
This was Inteleon, the Secret Agent Pokémon.
Inteleon was a specialist Pokémon, its body equipped with various abilities. Its eyes had specialized membranes for pinpoint accuracy when attacking weak points. Its tail housed a concealed blade for surprise assaults. Even its back membranes allowed it to glide short distances.
Angie's second apprentice, having honed its water manipulation skills through rigorous culinary training, immediately displayed mastery over its newfound powers.
Streams of water flowed like tentacles from Inteleon, kneading dough, wrapping buns, and slicing steamed rolls with precision. Everything was orderly now—no more chaos or stress.
Its skillful water manipulation had reached perfection.
Noticing Meowstic and Espurr, Inteleon turned and gave them a sly wink, followed by a thumbs-up as if to say: Am I not the coolest?
Even after evolving, Inteleon's personality hadn't changed much.
Meowstic and Espurr exchanged looks and smiled, relieved.
It seemed there was no longer anything to worry about.
With Munchlax Home out of the crisis, Angie and his group finally reached Allearth Forest by evening.
Standing atop a hill, Angie took in the devastated scene before him.
Large swathes of forest lay withered and dead—a sight both shocking and heartbreaking.
"Is this Yveltal's doing?" Angie asked, glancing down at Charcadet and Oinkologne.
"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"
"Oinkologne~ Oinkologne~"
Only now did Angie truly grasp what the title of a "God of Destruction" entailed.
This wasn't like the games in his previous life, where legendary Pokémon were just a name or could be easily captured.
Here, it was a divine being that could bring death itself.
Led by Charcadet and Oinkologne, Angie rode Espathra deeper into the forest.
Along the way, he saw countless Pokémon struggling to survive as their habitats became increasingly scarce.
He also noticed Gloom carrying seeds to the damaged areas and Lotad watering them.
Angie didn't know if the Pokémon's efforts would bear fruit.
Perhaps Yveltal's lingering energy would prevent the seeds from sprouting.
Or maybe its actions had sparked new life, making the land even more fertile.
Only time would tell.
After walking for an unknown length of time, Angie finally stood before a glowing giant tree, radiating light that spread throughout the Allearth Forest.
Even in its tree form, Xerneas continued to protect the Pokémon of Allearth Forest with its life-giving power.
"Angie, you're here!"
Xerneas's kind and gentle voice echoed in Angie's heart.
Angie walked up to Xerneas. "Xerneas, did you know I would come?"
"When the four of them left in such a hurry, I knew they were going to find you."
Angie chuckled. "Of course, they wouldn't just stand by and watch you suffer."
The two Charcadet and two Oinkologne nodded in agreement.
One of the Charcadet hopped off an Oinkologne's back and ran up to Xerneas, hugging its tree trunk tightly. The crybaby Charcadet began to sob uncontrollably. Meanwhile, the two Oinkologne nuzzled Xerneas's tree trunk gently with their heads, their eyes brimming with sorrow.
Xerneas spoke in a gentle and comforting voice.
"My dear child, there's no need to be sad. I am fine. This form is simply another way for me to exist in this world, it's no different from before."
"And you don't need to do anything for me."
Angie shook his head and pointed at the Charcadet and Oinkologne.
"If I do nothing, just look at how heartbroken they are.
I know this might sound presumptuous, but they truly consider you as their friend."
Hearing Angie's words, Xerneas fell silent. After a long pause, it sighed deeply and addressed the Charcadet and Oinkologne:
"I'm sorry. I didn't consider your feelings."
To Xerneas, its tree form was simply a temporary state. Once it had gathered enough life energy, it could return to its original form.
But the time needed for this was long—so long that the Charcadet and Oinkologne wouldn't be able to wait.
To them, wasn't this an unbearable separation?
"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"
"Oinkologne~ Oinkologne~"
The Charcadet and Oinkologne shook their heads through their tears. They didn't blame Xerneas for anything.
They knew, deep down, that their actions were selfish. To Xerneas, bonding with shorter-lived creatures like them could only bring future heartbreak.
This was the pain of forming connections—only to face inevitable loneliness.
Yet they couldn't help but draw closer to Xerneas.
The Charcadet and Oinkologne looked up at Xerneas's tree form, their tear-filled eyes shining with devotion.
At this moment, the Legendary Pokémon and the four ordinary Pokémon shared a heartfelt bond.
After a long silence, Xerneas asked Angie, "Angie, do you truly have a way to help me?"
Angie nodded. "It might be difficult, but I'll do my best."
Hearing this, Xerneas was astonished. For countless years, after every great destruction caused by Yveltal, Xerneas alone had restored the land's vitality. And yet, a human now claimed to have a way to help?
What an extraordinary human.
"Angie, may I officially entrust you with this task?"
Xerneas asked solemnly.
A smile spread across Angie's face. "Of course. It's an honor to help you, Xerneas!"
"Then I will await your return here," Xerneas said.
After promising to help Xerneas, Angie left Allearth Forest with his Pokémon.
As soon as Angie departed, countless Pokémon emerged from the forest. Some perched on Xerneas's branches, while others lay quietly at its roots, silently standing guard over Xerneas.
By noon the next day, Angie returned home, arriving at the same time as Inteleon, who had just returned from the city.
Seeing Inteleon, Angie paused in surprise before exclaiming joyfully, "You've evolved! Wait, I should call you Inteleon now, not Drizzile."
Inteleon gave Angie a wink and then performed its new trick.
Streams of water extended from its back like tentacles, lashing out in the air with startling force. The sight was eerie enough to send shivers down anyone's spine—good thing it wasn't nighttime.
Angie exclaimed in amazement, "Incredible! Inteleon, your water manipulation skills are so strong!"
"Inteleon~ Inteleon~"
Am I cool? Am I cool?
Inteleon gave a thumbs-up and eagerly awaited Angie's response.
"You're cool—super cool! Absolutely amazing!" Angie showered it with unreserved praise.
"Inteleon~ Inteleon~"
There's something even cooler!
With that, it mimicked the shape of a pistol with its fingers and aimed at a vase on the table. Inside the vase were fresh flowers that Magearna had picked earlier that morning.
Whoosh!
Angie watched as a jet of water shot from Inteleon's fingertip. In the blink of an eye, one of the flower's petals was snipped off.
Then came a second jet, a third, and so on. In no time, the entire flower had been stripped of its petals, leaving the pistil untouched.
Angie guessed excitedly, "You've learned a new move—is it Snipe Shot?"
Currently, Inteleon is the only Pokémon capable of learning Snipe Shot, making it essentially a signature move.
"Inteleon~ Inteleon~"
Inteleon nodded with pride, tilting its chin upwards triumphantly.
Angie couldn't resist activating his Eye of Observant to analyze it.

Inteleon hadn't just learned Snipe Shot; it had also picked up Scald.
While Snipe Shot came naturally after evolving, Inteleon had unexpectedly mastered Scald during a moment of inspiration.
It learned the move when the intense, steaming water vapor from cooking buns hit its face.
