POKEMON : STARTING WITH FLASH METAGROSS

Chapter 63: Chapter 63: The Queen Bee's Army!

Rax wasn't sure if he had tricked Metang, but he definitely hadn't hurt himself.

Thinking of the delicious taste of the indigo tungsten ore, Metang finally ate it. He could be strong and handsome at the same time.

After dinner, Rax took his Pokémon and sat on the grass to enjoy the rare sunset over the sea of flowers.

The busy Bug-type Pokémon returned to their nests one by one, and only a few playful Swallowtail Butterflies were still fluttering around in the glow of the setting sun.

Rax looked at his three Pokémon. Marowak was focused on coiling its bone club, which, in its eyes, was a thousand times more beautiful than the sunset.

The petals of skiploom gently spun as its body floated up and down, watching intently.

Metang stayed apart, staring at the sea of flowers with its blood-red eyes, lost in thought.

Maybe not every Pokémon could understand the way Metang appreciated the sunset, but Rax was content just having them around at that moment.

No words were spoken the entire night.

---

The next day, Rax continued his journey riding Metang. Flying was always faster than walking, so Rax reached the second water source marked on his map before noon.

"Let's rest here!"

"Beta~"

Knowing that they had to fly for an entire day, Metang landed obediently by the pool, not showing off its strength.

In the time since yesterday afternoon and this morning, Metang had noticed a significant improvement in its control over Psychic.

Being able to get stronger during the journey made Metang more willing to help.

Rax prepared lunch with Marowak as usual, while Metang and Roserade chatted nearby.

But before the meal was ready, a commotion broke out in the peaceful sea of flowers, as many Bug-type Pokémon fled in panic.

Marowak immediately sensed the danger, tightening its grip on the bone club and staring at the sky.

Metang and skiploom flew back to Rax's side and began scanning the area.

As the surrounding Pokémon fled, a massive swarm of Beedrill charged through the air like a dark cloud, heading toward the pond!

Rax didn't dare to stay in place and didn't even take the time to collect the tables and chairs. He hopped on Metang and flew away.

"Fa Fa!"

At that moment, skiploom suddenly shouted and pointed to the other side.

Rax turned and immediately cursed, "Why is there another group?!"

This new swarm wasn't Beedrill, but a group of metapod and Butterfree . The metapod were carried on the backs of the Butterfree, creating a bizarre air cavalry formation.

Rax quickly ordered Metang to fly away from the area, but by the time he moved, the Beedrill had already collided head-on with the Butterfree group and started fighting!

Rax looked at the flowers below them being trampled and silently criticized the lack of unity among the swarms.

He urged Metang to retreat again, and the two groups clashed fiercely in the sky above the sea of flowers.

---

In the wild, wars between Pokémon colonies weren't unusual, especially when resources were scarce. However, the sea of flowers was an endless resource for these Bug-types, so why were they fighting?

While Rax pondered this, the two swarms suffered heavy casualties.

The individual strength of metapod was weak, but their numbers far outstripped those of the Butterfree, and they coordinated well.

For a time, it was an evenly matched battle.

But soon, a giant Butterfree, five times the size of a regular one, emerged from the fray. Its immense presence instantly shook the metapod swarm.

A large number of Beedrill were knocked out of the sky, and flowers were destroyed in the process.

Seeing this, Rax signaled Metang to retreat once again.

But Metang's eyes lit up as it stared at the giant Mothim, eager for a fight.

"You can't fight that one; it won't fight you," Rax warned. "It'll just send its underlings to fight you in a round-robin style."

Metang understood, the fighting spirit in its eyes fading as it looked somewhat disappointed.

Rax patted Metang comfortingly, though his thoughts were on why the leader of the Beedrill wasn't involved yet.

Just as Rax wondered this, the true leader appeared.

A massive Beedrill, several times larger than the average Beedrill, slowly emerged from the back of the swarm.

Immediately, all the Beedrill seemed to rally, their spirits soaring as they gathered around their queen.

"What do they eat to grow so big?" Rax muttered.

Then another thought crossed his mind: Could they be... Overlord Pokémon?

On the battlefield, the Beedrill lightly raised her hand, and the three groups of Beedrill split into three large, perfectly organized formations around her.

With a simple gesture of her right hand, one of the formations launched a Gust attack at the butterfree group.

The wind generated by a single Beedrill was weak, but the combined Gusts from an entire army of Beedrill formed a giant tornado!

"Metang, skiploom, let's retreat again!" Rax quickly ordered, glad that they were already a distance away.

The butterfree who faced the tornado were in a bad situation. While the Beedrill were able to protect themselves, the lone butterfree were nearly swept away by the winds, torn apart as they were caught in the whirlwind.

Even the giant butterfree had to retreat a long distance, using Psychic to resist the tornado.

"Yin Yin!"

As it struggled, the giant butterfree let out a long cry, issuing orders.

The butterfree that weren't caught in the tornado immediately launched a counterattack, targeting the name Beedrill with a barrage of moves: Psychic, Gust, and Dazzling Gleam.

But the Beedrill didn't even try to dodge. With another wave of her left hand, a new group of Combee flew forward, taking the incoming attacks with ease.

She then waved again, and the newly arrived Beedrill began healing the injured ones, placing them back into the fight.

"Group battles are unbeatable!" Rax couldn't help but sigh in awe.

Metang nodded, impressed.

As soon as the queen Beedrill appeared, the Mothim were overwhelmed, and their numbers steadily dwindled.

Meanwhile, the Beedrill seemed to be endlessly replenished, with injured ones returning to the fray one after another.

With such a well-coordinated army, it was clear the Mothim were at a disadvantage.

Why, then, was the giant Mothim still fighting?

At that moment, skiploom suddenly tugged on Rax's sleeve.

"Fa Fa~"

skiploom gently pointed to the back of the Beedrill swarm, taking a deep breath.

"What's wrong? Is something over there?"

skiploom nodded frantically, pointing again.

Rax raised an eyebrow. "Let's go check it out..."

Then, he patted skiploom's head. "Such a well-behaved Pokémon. Who taught you this? If I knew, I'd definitely break their legs!"
