Chapter 66: Chapter 66: I'm Not the Only One Who Feels Sorry for Metang!
Rax still remembered how, when he saw Steven's Metang using Ice Punch to defeat everyone, he was filled with envy.
Unexpectedly, his own Metang immediately comprehended Thunder Punch!
Although Ice Punch suited Metang more than Thunder Punch, Rax was already surprised enough.
Ice Punch would come sooner or later!
There was no need to spend any money; it was just a matter of focusing on talent comprehension.
Thinking this, Rax felt quite content.
Seeing that Metang wanted to continue attacking the training target, Rax hurriedly stopped it.
"Although training is important, you need to rest now. We'll head to Flower Garden Town tomorrow."
Metang thought for a moment and agreed, then floated over to the tent and lay down.
Two seconds later, loud snoring filled the air.
Rax looked at the exhausted Metang and felt a pang of sympathy. Just as he was about to quietly ask skiploom to use Aromatherapy, skiploom had already silently applied it for Metang.
Meanwhile, Marowak ran off to a more distant spot to train, ensuring its training wouldn't disturb Metang's rest.
Rax smiled to himself—he wasn't the only one who felt sorry for Metang.
The night passed in silence, and Rax climbed onto Metang at dawn to continue their journey.
Fortunately, Metang only needed to maintain its electromagnetic levitation for the day, and the rest was handled by skiploom's Tailwind, sending them swiftly and steadily to Flower Garden Town!
Last night, Rax had compared the map and realized they had deviated slightly from their original route.
Curious, he decided to take a detour and revisit the area where the battle had occurred the previous day.
From a distance, the once-beautiful flower field now lay bare, the flowers uprooted and the earth exposed. Numerous Bug-type Pokémon roamed around.
Seeing that several Beedrill were still patrolling, Rax didn't want to engage in another battle royale, so he quietly left with Metang and skiploom.
The rest of the journey was smooth, largely because Rax intentionally avoided trouble.
By the afternoon, wild Pokémon in the flower fields grew scarcer, and signs of human activity started to show.
Rax stopped and recalled Metang, walking toward a road opened by humans with skiploom.
After another half hour, more Pokémon appeared around them.
However, most of them were Beedrill, and they became friendly after seeing Rax. These were Beedrill raised by humans, much more docile and approachable.
Sure enough, after a while, Rax saw a muscular man walking toward them, accompanied by a large Queen Beedrill.
"Are you a trainer? The town is this way!"
"Okay, thank you, big brother!"
Rax didn't ask any further questions since he wasn't stopping to buy sweets. He just wanted to reach the town and rest.
After more than half an hour, Rax finally arrived at Flower Garden Town, a place bursting with flowers amidst the sea of blossoms.
To be honest, he was already somewhat tired of the scenery and didn't appreciate the beauty of the town as he would have before. Instead, he headed straight for the Devon Hotel to check in.
Rax cleaned up his three Pokémon one by one, then took a thorough wash himself.
He lay on the soft bed, reflecting on the events of the past few days.
Starting from Zhuqing City, the journey had been quite remarkable.
First, the discovery of indigo tungsten ore in a deserted town had allowed the Beldum that lacked steel energy to fully accumulate and evolve.
And then there had been the mysterious voice and the pink and purple mist that refused to disperse.
Rax speculated that the mysterious voice might have been the source of the psychic energy Metang had been lacking, providing it in abundance!
Telekinesis and the Mental Hammer learned upon evolution were evidence of this.
Next, there had been the long mining period, which filled the space backpack before Rax called Steven to take over.
And then, Rax thought, the peaceful flower sea journey had a rule prohibiting the destruction of flowers, which had unexpectedly led to his Metang becoming a mount.
Then came the Flower Sea Battle Royale!
Looking back, Rax felt fortunate he hadn't strayed too far from the original route, ensuring the wild Pokémon he encountered weren't too strong.
If he had gone deeper into the flower fields and faced elite-level wild Pokémon, it might not have been so easy to escape.
But then there was double the joy!
skiploom learned Tailwind, and Metang learned Thunder Punch!
With this, Rax saw a marked improvement in their strengths.
Especially Metang, which could now be considered reborn.
As he reviewed these events happily, Rax became more serious.
Next, there was much to be done.
The indigo tungsten mine had been handed over to the Devon Corporation for development. If Steven had surveyed the area, it was almost time for him to reply.
It would be ideal if they continued to cooperate as before.
If not... well, that would be dealt with when the time came.
That matter was settled.
Next on Rax's mind was Metang's training.
Metang had undeniably grown the most during this journey.
But if Metang's potential was wasted because of its rapid growth, Rax, as a trainer, would feel responsible.
So, a period of closed-door training was necessary to allow Metang to fully familiarize itself with its newfound strength.
During this time, both Marowak and Metang needed to adapt to Skiploom's Tailwind assistance.
The sudden speed boost could be a great advantage, but if not mastered, it could throw off their rhythm.
Lastly, there was Marowak.
Seeing his companions improving, Marowak likely felt pressure, even if it didn't express it outwardly.
It was normal to train in secret.
Rax didn't stop them, quietly managing the logistics.
Unlike skiploom, Marowak had an immense potential beyond its species' limits.
While Metang had the potential of a pseudo-legendary Pokémon, Marowak could gain incredible strength with steady, consistent training.
Marowak's growth would be earned through hard work and determination.
Luckily, Marowak had understood this from birth.
So, during the closed-door training, Marowak would also participate in the entire process.
After organizing his thoughts, Rax turned to how he would train his Pokémon.
He took out the manuals and notes for each Pokémon and began drafting a training plan based on their current conditions.
The following day, Rax reserved an intermediate mimicry training room and began the closed-door training with his three Pokémon.
This training lasted a full month.
During this time, the only interruption was a call from Steven regarding the indigo tungsten mine.
According to Steven's survey, there wasn't much indigo tungsten ore left, but it was highly valuable. Once all the mining was done, it could yield half of a pseudo-King-level Metagross.
If the profits were split 50-50, Rax would receive a quarter of a pseudo-King-level Metagross.
But Rax still had a space backpack full of indigo tungsten ore.
That alone was enough to get him another quarter of a pseudo-King-level Metagross.
In the interest of not bothering two experts for the same thing, Rax simply asked Steven to send someone to collect the indigo tungsten ore he had mined.
This channel was secure and wouldn't be exposed, saving Rax a lot of trouble.
So, once again, Rax made a hefty profit.
