chapter 16
16 – Paper test at this timing?
After the 1st period, HR, we started the 2nd period.
I firmly believed that I would study the range of classes as usual.
It wasn’t just Kim Hyun-jin, other students must have been like that too.
“We will start testing now.”
Monjiro Kobayashi, a teacher in charge of Japanese history, came in at the start of the second period.
Most of the students were taken aback by the sudden situation, and so was Kim Hyun-jin.
A test at this timing?
Originally, it was planned to be done in about two weeks, so one of the students raised his hand and said.
“Teacher! Didn’t you originally intend to do it in two weeks?”
“Good question. However, the paper test can be changed at the teacher’s discretion at any time. If you have done well in preparation and review on a regular basis, you can avoid failing grades.”
The failing grade of the paper test that Monjiro suggested was 45 points or more. It’s definitely not a very difficult level.
The question is, as Monjiro said, how much do you usually study? That’s what matters.
Hyunjin studied on his own until recently. So you won’t get a failing grade.
The problem is Ryunosuke and Amelia, who are too vulnerable to Japanese history. They were both worried.
No, rather, is this case good? Since only the two of us can study, the relationship may deepen.
Kim Hyun-jin prepared for her note test while thinking about that.
She didn’t even know that Amelia kept looking back and forth between herself and Ryunosuke.
“Cheating is always 0 points! Everyone who gets a failing grade will stay and take make-up classes and extra exams, so you know.”
“Eh~? Teacher, is that too much!”
“The main building thinks so too!”
“Ah, I think I will fail the exam!!”
“Should all those who are talking now be treated as 0 points?”
At Monjiro’s words, the campus instantly became quiet.
“Now, the front row students should pass the papers to the back seats!”
Sarak, Sarak.
The sound of turning the paper was slowly heard.
“Then let the test begin!”
As soon as Monjiro shouted, the classroom was filled with silence. There were students who occasionally coughed or breathed heavily, but there were no students who resisted the exam.
No one wants to get a failing grade and stay in school to take make-up classes.
They each moved their pen holders to avoid failure. Monjiro moved occasionally, turning his head among the students.
Catch only one person. Monjiro looked around with that gaze and hovered between them.
***
“Okay, test done. Collect all the test papers and bring them to the front! Let’s do the scoring right away.”
Since the exam lasted about 30 minutes, it was Monjiro’s opinion that the remaining class time would be used for scoring.
I opened the exam papers on the desk and quickly scored.
‘I feel uneasy about something.’
The “Exam range” That Ohana and I studied did not appear. I solved the area I studied while squeezing my head as much as possible.
Click, click. Squeak.
I heard the sound of Monjiro’s pen several times.
Really, what will happen? While waiting with such thoughts in mind, Monjiro opened his mouth.
“The scoring is over. The student whose name is being called will remain today.”
Please, can’t I?
Thought so, I prayed inwardly.
“Well, first of all…… Amelia Iori Lionheart.”
Amelia startled at Monjiro’s name, and her body trembled. Well, it’s natural because it’s a scheduled procedure.
When Amelia’s name was called, I was silent.
“Next. Natsuki Ryunosuke!”
When Ryunosuke’s name was called, he nodded his head and fell silent, thinking that it was a natural event as well.
Because I had the belief that even if there was an area I wasn’t familiar with, I would have filled out the answer sheet and handed it out.
“Ohana Kamiyama.”
Next, a familiar name was mentioned. She felt a little puzzled, but she thought she could.
Ohana said, since she’s a heroine, she’ll take supplementary lessons or extra tests with Ryunosuke along with Amelia, and she was silent.
The last time Monjiro opened his mouth.
“Lastly, Hyunjin Kim. More than that.”
When my name was called, I fell into endless despair.
No, does that make sense? Did you work hard on it though?
“We will take supplementary classes after school for three days and then take the retest. Let’s end today’s class here. More.”
When Monjiro got up from her desk, she couldn’t understand it, so she raised her hand and said.
“Could you possibly know the scores of the failing students?”
When asked cautiously, Monjiro nodded his head and said.
“Hmm…… 21 Points, 29 points, 34 points, 43 points, respectively. More than that. Chairman?”
“Stand up! Salute!”
“Thanks for your hard work!!”
“Hmm, the chairperson failed…… “
Saying that, Monjiro looked at Amelia and left her classroom.
In order, Amelia, Ryunosuke, Ohana, and I…… It was four people.
I’m glad my score was the highest…… The winning horn.
No matter what, it’s a failing grade, so it’s a matter of passing the test or not.
“Haa… ….”
As I sighed, Sojuro, who was next to me, looked at me and opened her mouth while laughing.
“Ha ha ha!! Yes man, Kim! You lost to the main building!!”
“So what do you mean?”
“I just wanted to say that you look good, Kim! He must have been summoned by the student council president and done this and that!!”
“What is that?”
“That, it is…… !”
Soujuro’s face turned red at once. Even so, she was staring at me with an envious expression.
“Kiba. First of all, you’d better learn how to read people’s minds.”
“What, what, what!!”
“So you’re not popular with women, Kiba.”
“Yes, you bastard! What you can say and what you don’t have to say—!”
Sojuro exhaled heavily, she said. She wondered, so she asked him.
“Ah, Kiba. Just in case, how many points did you get on this test?”
“Hmph, now you’re asking that! The score of the main building is 96 points!! Why are you surprised?”
“Oh…… “
With her confident expression, Sojuro looked at me and opened her mouth.
“You said you solved it by self-grading? Ha, you will not be enough to defeat the main building!”
“I guess so.”
“Aren’t you too careless, Kim!”
“But isn’t that right?”
“Damn it, there’s no point in teasing me!”
Soujuro breathed heavily and said. Ohana got up from her seat and she came straight to me.
“That, that…… I’m sorry, Mr. Kim! Because of me!!”
As Ohana, who had a low voice, raised her voice, the eyes of the people around her began to focus on her.
“What happened…… ?”
“I went out with Miss Kamiyama the other day, but it must have something to do with that.”
“I’m curious about the inside story, but more and more…… “
Rumors of malice filled the surroundings. To dispel rumors, I spoke to Ohana as if encouraging.
“It’s okay, Miss Kamiyama. We studied together, but that wasn’t the scope of the exam.”
“What what!?! You said you studied together, Kim!?”
Sojuro, who was listening to the story next to me, fell backwards in fright.
Reactions are always like chewing.
That’s not what I’m talking about…….
“What is it, Kiba? How are you studying?”
“You, you you you!! Seaweed! Where did you study!”
“I studied at Ms. Kamiyama’s house for a while. Is there something wrong?”
“Lee Ik, you look like an envious guy!!”
“I was only studying for the exam, so why are you jealous of that?”
“Chit, this is why guys with a lot of women around them!”
“What are you talking about, Kiba?”
Looking at it like this, it definitely makes sense. Why were the main characters in love comedies so unlucky?
Soujuro is envious of me, but usually the main character’s attitude is ‘What’s wrong with that?’ Or ‘I just studied.’
Well, but since I’m not the main character in the work, I don’t think he’ll have a crush on me.
On the contrary, it made me want to be angry with Ryunosuke.
“Ryu-kun, Ryu-kun, let’s study hard too?”
Ohana said to Ryuunosuke, who was sitting right in front of him.
Ryuunosuke answered Ohana’s words with a light laugh.
“Ah…… Well, that’s how it should be But Hana-chan, haven’t you learned a bit about Japanese history?”
“Yeah, that’s…… As I said earlier. Kim and I studied separately at our house, but the test range seemed to be wrong…….”
Ryunosuke and Ohana were comfortable calling each other by nicknames. It’s different from me.
“Oh ho ho ho, Natsuki-kun and Kamiyama-san! And Kim! You failed amicably!”
Amelia approached me quietly, without even noticing, and smiled.
Then Ryuunosuke, who was next to him, turned his head and opened his mouth.
“Ah, Miss Iori. I’m surprised To think that a failure would come out.”
“Hey, am I surprised too? It was such a surprise test that I didn’t even have time to study!”
…… Just looking at Amelia, who is covering up her poor skills in Japanese history, she’s still cute.
“By the way, today is definitely going to be a compulsory replenishment, so what should I do? First of all, I think we need to put our heads together and think about it. Hana-chan, Kim-kun, and Iori-san too.”
“Yeah, that’s right…… Surely.”
“I agree with you too.”
“I don’t think there is a need to wait three days!”
Four undergraduates, including me, looked at each other and said,
“In that case, leave it to the master!”
Suddenly Sojuro raised her voice and said.
“Is there any way, Kiba-kun?”
Ryuunosuke asked Sojuro.
“Well, of course there is! The scope of the test is guessed by the main building! I’ll write the genealogy myself, so you can take care of the rest!”
Saying that, Sojuro started writing a genealogy within the expected test range.
She said that a guy who knew Japanese history would help directly, so I thought it was a relief.
