President Fu Is Great at Pretending, and the Frail Young Master Has No Way to Deal With Him

Chapter 32

Fu Yanhe cleared his throat, a small smile playing in his slightly curved eyes.

“Honey, just follow my example. Just say don’t be afraid or it doesn’t hurt. Blow on it, and it will fly away.”

Gu Wenning glanced at Fu Yanhe with some suspicion, thinking, ‘Is this really how you coax people? Something about this feels odd.’

But Gu Wenning couldn’t pinpoint what was strange.

Fu Yanhe stood in front of him, his face full of anticipation, his eyes bright as stars. Gu Wenning hesitated for a moment, suppressing the inexplicable discomfort in his heart, and repeated what Fu Yanhe had said, stumbling over the words.

“Don’t be afraid… don’t be afraid, it doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t hurt… blow on it… blow on it, it hurts, and it flies away.”

His straight expression and serious tone made it seem like he was delivering a speech on stage. There was no trace of the tender coaxing tone Fu Yanhe had intended.

But Fu Yanhe was delighted, the little simp in his heart dancing gleefully, swaying left and right.

How could he not be happy when his wife was coaxing him?

“Honey, don’t be so serious when you’re coaxing someone. Use a softer tone,” Fu Yanhe suggested.

Gu Wenning frowned slightly, then tried to slow down his voice, repeating it again.

Perhaps because it was the second attempt, it wasn’t as difficult as the first.

But Fu Yanhe shook his head. “It still hurts. I need to hold hands with my wife to feel better.”

As he spoke, one of Fu Yanhe’s hands had already reached out and thoughtfully grasped Gu Wenning’s hand, holding it tightly, leaving no room for escape.

Gu Wenning glanced at him lightly.

Did he even have the right to refuse?

Apparently not.

Fu Yanhe looked at Gu Wenning without a shred of guilt, his narrow phoenix eyes shining with sincerity that seemed to say, ‘It has nothing to do with me.’

‘It wasn’t me who started this.’ He hadn’t instructed his hand to hold his wife’s hand. The hand had its own ideas, and he couldn’t control it. Maybe the hand wanted to find itself a wife too. After all, who would want to remain single—even hands deserved a partner.

When they stepped out of the restaurant, a gust of evening breeze blew against their faces, bringing a slight chill.

The night sky was sparsely dotted with the moon and stars, while the city below was ablaze with lights.

“Honey, I know there’s a video game arcade nearby. It’s pretty fun. Do you want to go and play together?”

Fu Yanhe didn’t want to part ways and return to their respective homes so early. He wanted to stay with his wife for as long as possible without interfering with his wife’s daily life.

In Fu Yanhe’s twenty-seven years, he had never been in love, but he had seen enough to know what couples did on dates: amusement parks, movie theatres.

“I’ll take your silence as agreement. If you don’t object, the vote is unanimous, and we’re going to the arcade.”

It was said to be nearby, and it truly was. After walking about two hundred meters, they arrived at the video game arcade.

On the way, they encountered a young couple coaxing their child. Hearing the familiar phrase “Blow and fly away,” Gu Wenning couldn’t help but glance at Fu Yanhe, who responded with an innocent smile.

Fu Yanhe seemed quite familiar with the arcade. As soon as they entered, he introduced the games to Gu Wenning, explaining what they were and how to play them.

When he found two empty game consoles in a corner, Fu Yanhe inserted the game coins he had exchanged and invited Gu Wenning to play with him.

“Honey, watch me do it first. It’s very simple,” he said.

Fu Yanhe decided to impress everyone today and show off in front of Gu Wenning. He wanted to demonstrate his skills and let his wife discover yet another one of his advantages.

Gu Wenning, however, was usually not very interested in video games, especially after developing mild myopia. Although only one of his eyes with over 100, it served as a wake-up call. He had since paid extra attention to protecting his eyesight.

Still, Gu Wenning didn’t leave. Instead, he sat quietly and watched Fu Yanhe play.

Fu Yanhe played the game, and of course, he won—and he did so beautifully.

Under Fu Yanhe’s strong encouragement, a somewhat hesitant Gu Wenning decided to give it a try.

Perhaps because it was his first time playing, Gu Wenning was initially a bit confused. He started in a panic, operated in a panic, and soon lost. Ironically, it was he who initiated his own character’s demise.

Fu Yanhe had just declared that he would help Gu Wenning “take off” and carry him to victory. When he turned back to the screen and saw the little avatar representing Gu Wenning laying flat on the ground—completely lifeless—he froze for three seconds in disbelief. “Is it over already?” he asked.

The game had barely begun; they hadn’t even cleared the first level. It had only been twenty or thirty seconds at most.

He hadn’t yet had the chance to showcase his superb skills to his wife or lead him to victory.

Gu Wenning’s face flushed slightly with embarrassment. “I don’t…” he murmured.

Fu Yanhe ended the game several times, but he didn’t mind. Instead, he stood up and moved closer to Gu Wenning, switched to single-player mode, and began teaching him step by step how to play.

“It’s always like this the first time,” Fu Yanhe reassured him. “Nobody’s good at it right away. You’ll get better after playing a few more times. Honey, let me take you through it. I’ll teach you.”

He had come to spend time with his wife, after all. Playing games was just a pretext. How could he play alone while letting his wife merely watch? What would be the point of that? If they couldn’t play games together right away, then teaching him was the next best thing. Once he learned, they could form a team and play together. He didn’t need his wife to become a master, but at least he should know how to win.

His hand covered Gu Wenning’s with a warm, firm touch, their skin brushing slightly. The warmth of his hand and the mature scent of his breath lingered, making Gu Wenning’s heart beat faster and faster.

“Honey, you need to hide here; otherwise, you’ll get shot. And here, you have to jump because there’s a trap. If you fall, you’ll die. Just now, in the game, did you lose right at this spot…” Fu Yanhe explained.

He taught with patience. Gu Wenning was a little distracted at first but gradually started listening to Fu Yanhe’s instructions and got engrossed in the game.

After about half an hour, Fu Yanhe paused, his mouth dried from talking, and asked Gu Wenning if he had learned the game.

Gu Wenning nodded confidently, a determined look on his face.

It didn’t seem very difficult, and Mr. Fu’s explanations had been thorough. Gu Wenning felt sure he had finally gotten the hang of it.
