Chapter 467: A Deeper Understanding of Control
As he ran across the rooftops of nearby houses and buildings, Matthew marked his first target. It was a man fighting three men at the same time, using a huge axe as a weapon. The axe was almost as big as he was and constructed of highly heavy material, for every time he struck, the force and weight were enough to split someone in half.
The outfit he was wearing was of one of the three Academic Clans, the Bauer Clan.
He was fighting against 3 quite powerful people from one of the Main Clans, so he had to be someone powerful. Just the movement of the axe alone was already enough reason to believe so. He was quite far away, but Matthew was able to get there in a moment without using any movement skills.
He was simply using multiple legs to run, which drastically increased his speed.
This was another benefit of the Early Understanding of the Path of Control. Understanding your inner power to use it to achieve everything physically achievable by your body is a signifier that you have several extra hands or feet, and Matthew witnessed this when he fought Liam Wagner. So, while training with Jack Allen, he thought: Why not have multiple legs for running?
It would make it more effective.
Because, technically, he already has multiple legs whenever he uses that power to kick, he just needed to achieve a certain degree of understanding and manipulation so he could run. Perfecting this skill wasn't difficult for him.
It's an amazing degree of understanding of his power, but there's a problem.
'It wastes a lot of power.' He thought.
Even so, he was very pleased with the results; he just had to keep perfecting it or look for a way to make it not use so much power to make it much more effective in combat.
The truth is that running with his 'power' legs is much more effective than running with his normal legs at the moment, and that is because his power picks up faster what his brain is asking it to do, although, of course, it all depends on his degree of understanding of the technique.
Maybe with 2 or 3 movements, this is not something remarkable, but once the movements amount to tens or hundreds, this becomes an amazing help.
To put in context, it's like he can hit a few milliseconds earlier each time. 2 or 3 hits like that would not be a very noticeable difference, but if he could hit 20 or 100 times in a row, the difference in time would become much more noticeable, perfecting his fighting techniques.
Perhaps now, yes, he should be allowed to have his own fighting style for each occasion, as there is always the variable of using his inner power to strike when least expected.
It's a beautiful trump card.
Back to the current topic, Matthew reached the place where those guys were fighting and threw a strong kick toward the main man, who had managed to kill all three of them before he arrived. He didn't see it coming and ended up taking a powerful kick to the head that saw him crash ferociously into a nearby wall.
"Oh, he managed to take that hit without dying. Looks like I found a nice treasure." Matthew stopped after seeing this and again drew his sword again, which had left his hand when he started running.
One thing he had learned during this time was that having his sword out when he began to control his Inner Power was equal to giving himself trouble.
The 20% increase in power positioned Matthew with over 100,000 current power, an amount of power that he, at this time, could not control perfectly, so when he tried to use his Inner Power to run at high speeds or make too many movements, he had to put it away.
Although there was no problem at all with small movements.
As Matthew drew his sword, he saw a light shine before him and the huge body of that man appeared in front of him in a moment.
'That fast?' Although surprised, Matthew quickly swung his sword forward to meet that huge axe attacking him.
*BOOOM*
The moment the two weapons collided, a tremendous explosion emerged, the earth cracked, and the nearby trees suffered a tremendous impact.
Matthew's eyes flashed with curiosity. 'These are undoubtedly 80,000 power, and his axe is really heavy, which increases his overall strength.' Finally finding some amusement, Matthew smiled.

He knew he had four hits left to meet the condition of his ability. It was four hits to find out if he could receive an additional 8,000 power, which would leave him infinitely close to 100,000, and maybe he would manage to reach that level when 'The Vampire' activated.
But this guy was pretty powerful. After 50,000 power, he could already use his Vampiric Mark, which wasn't active at the moment. That means that his 80,000 Base Power could soon become 96,000.
Body defense also increases quite a bit after 50,000 power, so this guy would not die so easily.
Having only four hits to kill him felt low, but Matthew's power wasn't low either.
His 91,000 power became over 109,000 once he drew his sword. 'I have the power advantage.'
Even so, he was a little worried. Killing him isn't impossible, but it was tough in four hits, and that's because of something obvious, but It only starts to carry more weight after 50,000 power.
The guy in front of him is a master of hand-to-hand combat. Despite Matthew's height and good musculature, the guy in front of him was three times his height and several inches taller.
He was a tough guy, hard to kill.
Still, that was the fun of it this time.
Matt could finally see what it meant to fight a person who used much or all of his power in the most perfect way—someone who was not only getting stronger in vampiric power but also doing it to get the most out of his fighting style.
The practically giant man looked at Matthew and scowled. "You're a slim young man who just barely made it in the world; how dare you try to come to a war like this? People seem to have forgotten my name, Demon Axe Mountain." After saying this, he swung his axe fiercely downwards, trying to cut Matthew in half in a single attack.
