Quest Around the Multiverse

Chapter 43

With the help of Goesch and Talgeyl, I now know how to use the special boat to go around the Feitas river. The boat I use has something called Flowing Rune fragment, the upgraded version of Water Rune.

To move the boat this size, it did not need all of the Flowing Rune because it would be too powerful and throw the boat to the sky. However, a little piece of this rune should be enough to make it move along the river and speed up considerably.

The boat is parked far away from the Hatred Fortress, which blocks all the water to Lordlake. It was placed at the shore around a thick forest so the soldier couldn't see the boat.

With the steering in my hand, my boat continued to sail along the River to my next destination: The city of Raftfleet. Raftfleet is the only moving city in this world if my knowledge of this world is correct.

Just like its name suggests, Raftfleet is a city consisting of a fleet of rafts glued together using planks and some special stone that let it stay in one place. When they need to sail and move to another place, they remove the planks and the stone underwater, then set sail.

Because of this fact, Raftfleet is Falena's greatest asset in the previous war. Their mobility is what brings Falena victory in the war against the New Armes Kingdom. With marine superiority, Falena wins the fight and repels the invasion.

"And the star of the war is that thing."

As I get closer to Raftfleet, I can see a behemoth of a ship. It was a ship the size of a seafaring ship but more compact compared to it. It has a building on top of it, just like an old Japanese ship. On the front of the ship is a three-headed serpent that can be used to ram the enemy.

"The Great Serpent of Feitas, Dahak"

What is in front of me cannot be compared to what was shown in the game. Dahak in front of me is more majestic and fearsome at the same time. As I get closer, I see someone giving me a hand signal.

This is the basic hand signal that lets people know which place can be used to park your boat. Talgeyl taught me this.

I followed the instructions and parked my boat on the city's eastern side. As I walk toward the man that helps me park, I say.

"Good day."

"Good day, lad! What's up?"

"I need to meet Admiral Raja."

"You need to meet the boss, aye? What's wrong?"

"Here. I have a letter of introduction from someone she might know."

I gave him the letter from Talgeyl. He looked at it for a few seconds before saying.

"I can't read lad but I know that stamp anywhere I go. Just follow the path to the massive boat. You should meet the boss' right hand woman waiting for you."

"Thank you."

"No worries, lad! Any friend of Lordlake is a friend of ours!"

"Errr… Shouldn't you say that in a lower voice?"

"What? Are you afraid of the soldier? Bah! They will never step into our city, lad. Don't worry. We are too barbaric in their eyes."

"I see."

"Aye! Now, go. You don't want to keep the boss waiting."

I nod my head and walk to the massive ship. While walking through the city, I can see many kinds of merchants selling their goods. I can even see the Runeshop selling something rare. Urgh. I want to buy them, but I need to see the Admiral before I can explore the city.

I walk over all the interesting shops before arriving in front of a makeshift stair to the Dahak. When I arrive there, I can see a woman standing in front of the stairs ordering all the sailors. As I get closer, she looks at me and says.

"What do you want?"

"Here."

Instead of saying something, I give her the letter and let her read it. After a few seconds, she looks at me and says,

"Wait here. I will tell the admiral."

I wait for a few minutes before seeing the woman return.

"Alright, the admiral will see you now."

"Thank you."

"Nah, it was nothing. Anyway, the name is Kisara, what's yours?"

"Jacob, nice to meet you."

Kisara nods her head and says.

"Can I ask the reason why you come here?"

"Truthfully, I come here to explore the world and nothing more. I'm participating in the Sacred Games, you see. I want to train and get stronger so I can win the fight. However, Talgeyl and Goesch tell me to go here and give the Admiral the letter Talgeyl wrote."

"Oh? You know about Goesch and Talgeyl, huh?"

"Yup. Both of them are kind people. A bit distant when I first meet them but get warmer as time goes by. I'm proud to call them my friends."

"Friends, huh? It is rare to have friends from Lordlake, especially after what happened to them in the past."

"Yeah. That is why I joined the Sacred Games. I want to help the people by winning the tournament."

"Truly?"

"Yes"

"That's good."

I know that Kisara thinks I will help the people in Lordlake, and she is right. When I win the fight, I will be helping the people in this world in general.

After walking for a minute, we arrive inside a room where I can see an old woman sitting on the tatami. This old woman is called Raja, the Greatest Admiral in Falena history.

"So, you are the boy Talgeyl told me about, huh?"

"My name is Jacob. It is nice to meet you."

"The name is Raja and I will be your teacher from now on."

"Pardon me?"

Raja looked at me with a smirk on her face before saying.

"What? The old fossil did not tell you about the letter he wrote?"

"No. He only told me that it was an introduction letter."

"Hahahahaha! No, it was not. It was a letter introduction, that is true. However, it was also a letter asking me to train you. You are competing in Sacred Games, aye? Talgeyl wants me to train you to win the fight. I owe him and this is what he wants me to do to pay for my debt to him."

Raja gets up from the tatami and says.

"I will be your teacher in your swordsmanship and Kisara over there will be your sparring partner."

I look at Raja and Kisara for a few seconds before looking at their level.

|Raja| |Level: 87|

|Kisara| |Level: 72|

Holy shit. They are stronger than even Goesch. I shake my head and look Raja right in the eyes.

"I will be in your care."

"Good! Welcome to hell, boy!"
