Rainbow City

Chapter 32

Seokhwa couldn’t even grasp the sheet, and only his penis was fluttering as Kwak Soohwan tormented him. He wanted to run forward and take out the member that was filling him, but the difference in strength made him just call out to him.

Major Kwak, Major Kwak…

While he was jerking, Kwak Soohwan inserted his member deep enough to touch Seokhwa’s pubic hair. When he moved his waist to the deepest position, it felt like a punch to the stomach. Pleasure and pain alternated, and his eyelids kept drooping.

“Ha, do you really need my cum? Can I do it inside?”

“…Inside? Hmm, where?”

Seokhwa asked back, not even realizing what he meant.

“Here, inside hyung.”

“… Ugh!”

As Kwak Soohwan pushed his member in, Seokhwa’s feverish eyes turned cloudy.

“Shall we do it outside?”

Kwak Soohwan, who had his upper body pressed against his back, whispered. His body was also hotter than usual, and it felt nice to touch his firm body.

“Outside…Inside…In the petri-dish…”

He muttered without even knowing what he was saying.

Kwak Soohwan wrapped his hand around Seokhwa’s penis, which was fortunate for him not to faint. Perhaps it was because the inhibitor drug effect remained, but more watery fluid than semen leaked out. Even though he kneaded and shook it, it only stood halfway up and did not become solid. Kwak Soohwan bit Seokhwa’s shoulder and sucked it, then tapped Seokhwa’s waist again. Every time, his still tense body reflexively contracted.

“I’ll do it right away, right away.”

Seokhwa wanted to argue with him for saying something similar earlier, but all he could do was exhale.

Still, he didn’t know if his physical strength had improved a lot while he was here, or if Kwak Soohwan was just saying it, but he just wanted to keep holding on. As his body was defenselessly pierced, Kwak Soohwan’s trust was growing. If something other than him had entered his sensitive insides, he wouldn’t have felt any pleasure due to fear. However, because it was Kwak Soohwan, he could entrust his body to him. Of course, the person giving him a hard time right now was Kwak Soohwan.

Seokhwa barely moved his limp body and curled up face down. He felt like a foolish animal with only his head stuck in a cave, but it was much more comfortable than having his waist held by his strength. As a result, the lower part containing the member was exposed obscenely under Kwak Soohwan’s gaze. Since his buttocks were slightly raised, the penetration became a little deeper. Kwak Soohwan, who was gently rubbing his member, let out a low breath.

Even though he had never properly experienced sex, he managed to captivate people’s attention. The idea that Dr. Seok’s sex life would be pathetic if he rescued others’ members had to be reconsidered.

“Ha, damn. My member is melting.”

“Ah, why use such profanity… um.”

“It’s just an expression of admiration.”

As Kwak Soohwan gradually increased the speed, squeezing both well-shaped buttocks, Seokhwa turned his head to look at him. Kwak Soohwan, who had been focused on Seokhwa, soon noticed his gaze. It seemed strange that Seokhwa, with exhausted and drooping eyes, continued to look at him, and it even seemed to encourage him. Kwak Soohwan, driven by that momentum, explored further below.

A fragrant, sweet aroma wafted up. The passion between the two was erupting. The scent made Kwak Soohwan’s desire intensify, and he embraced Seokhwa’s body as if engulfing it. Seokhwa’s moans were surprisingly faint. As they clashed more fiercely, repeating intense insertions as if devouring the entire body, at some point, Seokhwa’s body completely relaxed.

Damn, he was undoubtedly unconscious, yet below, it still stimulated him. Kwak Soohwan, unable to stop, thrust his teeth into the soft neck.

Gotta control myself, he thought to himself, withdrawing his member with a swift motion. Observing the hole that was opened to accommodate his member, the urge to thrust again surged strongly.

Still holding his member, which was still intimidating, he reached out to the top of the bed. The bed must have shaken so much that even a water bottle had tipped over. He grabbed the half-poured bottle of water, gulped it down, and then sprinkled the remaining water on his member. Although it was lukewarm, it seemed to settle down a bit compared to before.

Kwak Soohwan carefully embraced Seokhwa’s body, removing the sheet covering the bed. There were no new sheets in the unused building. It might be a little uncomfortable, but he wrapped Seokhwa’s body in a blanket.

Putting on his clothes haphazardly, Kwak Soohwan lifted the limp Seokhwa gently. As he was leaving the room, he grabbed one of Seokhwa’s favorite toys. It took quite a while to reach the adjacent shelter because the erect member didn’t easily subside while walking.

Some soldiers who were standing guard looked bewildered, wondering if Seokhwa had died, but that was it. Kwak Soohwan walked up to his room. Until he laid Seokhwa on the bed, he couldn’t regain his composure, hoping that Seokhwa would wake up by then.

He had intended to make Seokhwa feel good, but it turned out to be awkward.

Nevertheless, it seemed like he enjoyed it… Kwak Soohwan meticulously wiped Seokhwa’s body with a warmed towel. He wiped the soft member clean and gently swept over the reopened hole.

“Dr. Seok, am I not patient enough?”

Despite such actions, Seokhwa’s body was marked with reddened traces from bites and suctions. Already weak, even the skin seemed delicate. Kwak Soohwan continued to wipe the body and finally covered him with a blanket. He entered the bathroom, grasped the showerhead, and took a cold shower as hot water wasn’t available. Thankfully, the situation below calmed down. However, the hand holding the showerhead was stiff.

Honestly, he didn’t expect it to be this good. It’s a big problem. If Seokhwa says he won’t do it again, he’ll have to figure out how to smooth things over with Tyler somehow. Concerns about his stamina surfaced as he lay exhausted on the floor. Still, Seokhwa wasn’t someone who would engage in casual sex easily.

Kwak Soohwan, towel-drying his hair, opened his eyes. He thought Seokhwa was still sleeping, but he had his eyes open. “Are you awake?” Despite Kwak Soohwan’s question, Seokhwa continued to stare at the ceiling. Something seemed odd, and as he approached, Seokhwa opened his eyes, but they lacked focus. Wondering if he was just half-asleep, Kwak Soohwan observed, and soon Seokhwa closed his eyes again.

Something blinked intermittently on the uniform hung on the clothes rack. It was a lamp attached to a military radio. As he was about to grab the radio and detach it, Commander Jung’s voice came through the radio, and it sounded unusual. Moreover, the way he spoke to his subordinate suggested someone else was present.

“Speak.”

[Come down to the first floor right now.]

“What’s the matter?”

[Hello, Major Kwak Soohwan.]

Through the radio, another voice, not Commander Jung’s, spoke.

“Who is this?”

[I am Dr. Choi Hoeon, a colleague of Dr. Seokhwa.]

Choi Hoeon?

[Haha, excuse my intrusion, but I have come to Zone 21 in person. Can we meet?] Unless Commander Cha has gone mad, why would he bring Choi Hoeon here? However, seeing that Commander Cha was still using informal language with me, it was highly likely that the fact he was a controller was unknown.

“I’ll go.”

[Dr. Seokhwa is also here; why don’t you come down together?]

“I’ll go alone.”

[While conducting an epidemiological investigation regarding the Gwacheon Shelter incident, we discovered a kit with Dr. Seokhwa’s blood.]

Kwak Soohwan cut off the communication. He tucked the dog tag into his shirt and changed into his uniform. The fact that Commander Cha brought Choi Hoeon to this area meant it was at least a Level 1 critical situation. Those who knew I had Seokhwa with me were at the highest levels.

Kwak Soohwan looked at the bed where Seokhwa was sleeping, holstering his gun. Seokhwa, wrapped in a blanket, sat up and looked at him.

“Dr. Choi Hoeon came?”

It seemed like the brief moment Seokhwa opened his eyes earlier was an attempt to regain consciousness. However, his voice was noticeably hoarse.

“I’ll be back.”

“I’ll come too.”

Seokhwa got up from the bed but swayed. Before he could support him, Seokhwa opened the wardrobe and took out a few of Kwak Soohwan’s casual clothes. Kwak Soohwan held Seokhwa’s shoulders, guiding him back to the bed.

“Just stay here.”

Just looking at Seokhwa’s face would reveal that they had engaged in intimate activities. Moreover, it was an Adam’s kit, and all the kits left in the medical office had been collected and dealt with a long time ago. Whether Choi Hoeon was merely observing or had watched the footage from that day, one thing was certain – there was something fishy.

Ignoring Kwak Soohwan’s words, Seokhwa began to put on clothes.

“Dr. Seok, do you know what you look like right now?”

He opened the coat button of the uniform. Since there was no mirror in the room, Seokhwa glanced at the bathroom while buttoning up. The shirt and pants didn’t fit properly, so he cinched the waist.

The marks on the eyes and cheeks were vivid, and the neck and collarbone were covered with bite marks and red traces. However, the more significant problem was that he still felt a foreign sensation with every step he took.

Grabbing the bathroom door, Kwak Soohwan gestured towards the bed with a nod of his chin.

“Go and talk alone, I’ll be back soon. Take a rest.”

Before Seokhwa could respond, Kwak Soohwan left the room and locked the door from outside. Seokhwa, who had gone out late, tried turning the doorknob but in vain. Somehow, the memory of being trapped in the isolation room flashed through his mind.

He knew it was an action to protect him, but there were times when Kwak Soohwan tried to control him completely. Even though it was his duty, Seokhwa couldn’t help but feel uneasy about being excluded. Even if he had such thoughts, he couldn’t go outside anyway, so he slowly walked towards the bed. It felt as if gravity was acting doubly on his lower half.

Noticing the absence of a clammy feeling on his body, he realized belatedly that Kwak Soohwan had wiped him down. Seokhwa brought his hand between his buttocks. The heat was intense. Thinking about the sensation of his genitals being stirred up and the tightness below, he involuntarily twitched, and his lower body moved.

The stimulation of nerves, experienced for the first time in his life, contained an addictive quality. The sensation of Kwak Soohwan’s firm skin rubbing against him each time was pleasant. Even when bitten on the chest and sucked, or when his genitals were teased, he felt a sense of fullness. That’s probably why people engage in sex, he thought.

Lying on his side and unable to fall asleep, Seokhwa began to look around the room. There were only a bed, a desk, and a wardrobe, and the room was neater than he had expected. Come to think of it, the room Kwak Soohwan used in Yeouido was also well-organized. Seokhwa picked up a cube placed on the desk.

The old cube with peeling paint felt worn-out, with the rotating faces showing signs of wear. It seemed different from the cubes he usually played with. Seeing that it was kept instead of discarded, it might have been a precious item.

Seokhwa placed the cube next to the stone that seemed to have been brought by him. After contemplating for a moment, he opened the desk drawer, just as Kwak Soohwan had done. It wasn’t a childish revenge, just mere curiosity. However, there were no pens or paper in the drawer. Only one book was laid out, and it didn’t have the barcode label of the Rainbow City Library.

Seokhwa carefully opened the book.

[Kwak Soohwan]

The owner’s name was written, as if there was a name tag on the book. The handwriting was amateurish, like that of a child. Flipping through the pages, he noticed the handwriting gradually becoming more refined. Turning a few more pages, something stuck between the pages caught his eye.

It was a discolored piece of paper stained with dark red.

[Alive]

Seokhwa stood frozen for a while, holding the open book.

It sounded like someone’s cry, and at the same time, it seemed like a plea. It was strange that sound could be heard from the letters, but the wishes contained in these two characters were palpable. Feeling like he had glimpsed into a part of Kwak Soohwan’s depths that he shouldn’t have seen, Seokhwa closed the book with a thud.

Alive.

The letters lingered in his mind, refusing to be erased.

***

An army jeep idled with the engine running. Steam rising above the hood indicated that spring was still distant. Kwak Soohwan looked out through the second-floor window before finally coming down to the lobby.

When Commander Cha met his gaze, he sent an apologetic glance. Choi Hoeon was dressed in a neat black suit, smiling as he roamed around the shelter lobby.

Originally, this building had been used as the residence for researchers conducting biotechnology studies. Of course, transformed into a military facility, there were almost no traces left of that time. The only remnants were pictures of researchers left abandoned in one corner of the lobby. Choi Hoeon walked over, pressing the frame against the floor with clean shoes, picking up the frame. Within the broken frame, people dressed in various colors of gowns were smiling.

“Dr. Choi Hoeon?”

Kwak Soohwan’s voice rang out as he descended the stairs.

“Oh, you’ve finally come. Welcome, Major Kwak Soohwan.”

Choi Hoeon placed the frame back in its original position and returned to Cha, the Colonel. He extended his hand for a handshake, but Kwak Soohwan greeted him with a nod. Choi Hoeon, putting his hand down as if there was nothing awkward, smiled deeply.

“But where is Dr. Seokhwa?”

Choi Hoeon glanced up the stairs that Kwak Soohwan had just come down from.

“He’s not feeling well, so I came alone. What brings you here?”

This guy, a member of the prestigious Gomo clan from Busan, was not even registered in the mutant database.

He is from an esteemed family in Busan, and he is not even registered in the mutant database. He had more expertise in botanical modifications than viruses, and his strength surpassed that of an A-grade soldier. It wouldn’t be a huge leap to say that this was acknowledged by Lee Chaeyoon. Kwak Soohwan, looking at Choi Hoeon, also smiled as if in agreement.

“We shouldn’t talk here. Let’s go to my room with Dr. Choi.”

Caught in the middle, Commander Cha, who had been nervously hesitant, finally managed to speak. Outwardly, as Commander Cha held a higher rank, Kwak Soohwan appeared to obediently follow, and Choi Hoeon, expressing gratitude for their consideration, exchanged greetings.

It was challenging to call it Commander Cha’s room specifically, but they opened the door to the first-floor office they used for strategy meetings. The Rainbow City map hanging on the wall had various colored pins stuck in each zone. Currently, green pins were the most numerous, followed by red. Choi Hoeon, looking at the map with interest, finally lost in thought.

“I’d like to have a private conversation with Major Kwak Soohwan.”

“…Certainly, Doctor. Once the discussion is over, I will escort you back to Yeouido.”

Commander Cha closed the door and left. Only then did Kwak Soohwan sit down at the desk.

“The Violet Zone is not an easy place to access, and the fact that Dr. Choi was brought here by Commander Cha implies a significant matter.”

Choi Hoeon, who had been looking at the map, turned around. He took off his glasses and put them in his suit pocket. Then, from inside, he pulled out a kit contained in a transparent pack.

“The blood on this kit belongs to Dr. Seokhwa. As you know, the result of the kit indicates a positive reaction.”

Kwak Soohwan responded with a relaxed fist.

“So, are you suggesting that Dr. Seokhwa has become an Adam?”

“I’ll have to see it with my own eyes. There are rumors that Major Kwak has a secret relationship with Dr. Seokhwa, and it’s possible that you’re hiding Dr. Seokhwa, who has become an Adam. But hiding an Adam is a serious crime, as you know.”

Don’t get involved. There was a high possibility that the bastard already knew that Seokhwa was fine.

“But it’s strange. Dr. Seokhwa’s researcher position was revoked and then reinstated. I acquired this kit in the meantime.”

“Even if you were colleagues for a few days, why would you be so interested in Dr. Seokhwa?”

“Well, Dr. Seokhwa might be an immune individual.”

Choi Hoeon answered easily, as if it were a very ordinary question.

“If that’s the case, Dr. Seokhwa should do a lot for Rainbow City. Don’t you think so, Major Kwak?” Kwak Soohwan pondered for a moment. If he had strength surpassing that of a registered mutant and didn’t even appear in the database, it was impossible to rule out the possibility of a spy planted by the higher-ups.

There might be other positions to restrain the controller, but Kwak Soohwan’s intuition spoke volumes. It seemed like that guy hadn’t fallen victim to Rainbow City’s brainwashing.

Considering the timing of his arrival at Yeouido and choosing the research labs with Dr. Kim and Seokhwa among many, not to mention acquiring the kit in Gwacheon, it was clear that he had been keeping an eye on Seokhwa. Moreover, a fellow researcher, Dr. Kim, associated with Eden Orchard, had died. Why wasn’t he delving into that?

“Hey.”

Choi Hoeon furrowed his eyebrows at the impolite remark.

“Serpent, right?”

“…”

There was no sign of agitation in his raised cheek and pupils. Similarly, Kwak Soohwan, with his fist clenched, only crossed his legs. Breaking the silence that had lasted for a while, it was Kwak Soohwan who chuckled.

“Maybe because you’re used to just looking through a microscope, you don’t know how to enjoy a joke. Anyway, even if the blood in that kit is Dr. Seokhwa’s, there shouldn’t be any issue. The accuracy of the Adam Virus kit is around 98 percent, and the kit Dr. Choi is holding demonstrates the 2 percent margin of error.”

Choi Hoeon turned the kit in the plastic around.

“There’s no registration for the name Kwak Soohwan in the mutant database.”

“Oh, I came from outside. Also, it’s just a story that I might not be a mutant.”

“Even though you’re not registered, all the surrounding soldiers are convinced that Major Kwak is a mutant. I see it too. Someone who single-handedly clears the Red Zone isn’t an ordinary researcher.”

“But isn’t that the same for you? You don’t look like an ordinary researcher either, and likewise, you’re not in the database. Could it be that you’re not from here either?”

Kwak Soohwan tested Choi Hoeon with a light tone.

The fact that Commander Cha brought him here indicated that he approached first. Being from an esteemed family might explain why he seemed to know more than expected. Yet, catching onto the relationship between Commander Cha and himself was curious.

“If I report this kit to the higher-ups, Dr. Seokhwa will be summoned for whatever reason.”

“But even without that, Dr. Seokhwa will soon be sent to Udo.”

Choi Hoeon’s eyes, which had shown no fluctuation throughout, twitched very briefly. With this, it became clear that he had an excessive interest in Seokhwa.

Kwak Soohwan released his clenched fist and stood up from the desk. He approached Choi Hoeon, extending his hand and asking for the kit.

“Send him to Udo?”

Choi Hoeon expressed doubt, suggesting it wasn’t likely.

“Major Kwak. As you know, unlike Major Kwak, who is said to have come from outside, I grew up in a very wealthy family. Although the world is in this state, I’ve experienced almost everything. I’ve even raised precious dogs and cats. They lived safely and died peacefully in their old age. However, thime was only one failure.”

“That’s something you write in an autobiography.”

He urged Choi to hand over the kit before using force.

“It was when Adam entered the Green Zone where I lived, and the infection started within minutes. Thinking it could infect birds, I fled to the air-raid shelter with my canary, who was still a chick. After safely entering the shelter and looking at the canary, it died in my hands, whether it was due to my excessive worry or not.”

“I’m too ignorant to understand even if you make such a metaphor.”

“Bring Dr. Seokhwa to me.”

“If you don’t want to.”

“I will report to the higher-ups.”

“Do you think you can come back alive?”

“We need Dr. Seokhwa.”

“No one needs Seokhwa as much as I do.”

Safety, creating a family-like barrier, welcoming him warmly each time he returns safely – he will have all of that. I will even bring back rocks for him. While Rainbow City crumbles, Seokhwa will be living in a cozy place.

“Is it reasonable not to develop a cure just for the desire of one Major?”

“Because Dr. Seokhwa is not an immune.”

“What about the cure itself?”

Kwak Soohwan scoffed.

Reaching out, he tried to snatch the kit from Choi’s wrist. Choi Hoeon, with immense strength, held onto the kit. Kwak Soohwan raised his elbow, hitting Choi Hoeon’s chest and struck his jaw with his fist. Stepping back a single pace during this, Choi Hoeon dodged the punch.

“Kuk, Major Kwak.” “That’s why I said, let’s not use force unnecessarily.”

Choi Hoeon, finding it difficult to convey through words, swung his fist while still holding the kit. Kwak Soohwan lowered his upper body and drove his fist into Choi’s solar plexus. A short cough from Choi, who retrieved his tie, winding it around his hand. Quick to react, he lunged at Kwak Soohwan, wrapping his hand around his neck. However, Kwak seized the opportunity to slip his hand in and tear the tie off.

Grown up in affluence? At least, his fighting style isn’t very elite.

Once again, a hand-to-hand battle ensued as they aimed punches at each other’s vital points. However, unable to land significant blows, the confrontation deteriorated into an endurance match.

“I didn’t come here to fight with Major Kwak!”

“If you take Dr. Seokhwa, we have to fight. It’s obvious we’ll end up as human experiments in the Immune Experimentation Center.”

Hoo, Kwak Soohwan exhaled and threw a punch. The cabinet, caught in the wind, dented unimpressively instead of hitting the intended target.

“Stop!”

Choi Hoeon clicked as he loaded his gun, aiming it at Kwak Soohwan.

“It could be fatal.”

Kwak Soohwan released his clenched fist and approached the gun.

“Please stop!”

Choi Hoeon raised both hands, signaling that he wouldn’t fight anymore.

“I’m not here to fight. I happened to come across footage of Major Kwak discussing matters with Commander Cha at the Gwacheon helter during an epidemiological investigation related to this incident. It was coincidentally found while investigating this incident. As you both have no connection, it was strange that Commander Cha went down to Gwacheon to meet Major Kwak. Moreover, the last person to take Dr. Seokhwa was Major Kwak. Just to be cautious, I mentioned it to Commander Cha before reporting it to higher-ups. Commander Cha deemed it an important matter and brought me here.”
