Chapter 465: Chapter 465: Let's Become Allies, Let Dragons and Giants Rule Together!
Beastland First Layer, Radiant Forest.
A golden sun hung high in the sky, releasing endless light and heat, illuminating the entire Radiant Forest, bathing the towering ancient trees in a golden hue—this was how it should be.
Now, the Radiant Forest was in turmoil, every inch of air seemed to be tinged with an indistinguishable divine glow.
The Lord of Storms, the Metal Dragon God, and the Immortal Dragon Queen.
The three powerful divine forces, like three newly born suns, emitted divine radiance far more dazzling and brilliant than the sun of Beastland, completely overshadowing the pale golden sunlight.
"Metal Dragon God, Immortal Dragon Queen."
"During the Dragonfall War, you didn't even bother to engage with me. Now, it takes both of you together to dare confront me?"
The Lord of Storms spoke calmly while releasing his mighty powers, clashing directly with the two Dragon Gods.
"Haha, you dare boast with power gained through patricide?"
The Metal Dragon God laughed heartily, his golden dragon claws blocking out the sky, pressing down towards the Lord of Storms.
The Lord of Storms did not back down, wielding a thunder lance that resembled a blue star river, colliding heavily with the Metal Dragon God's claws.
Boom!
The impact was like a comet striking the earth, a ring-shaped shockwave spreading from the point of contact, sweeping in all directions, uprooting ancient trees thousands of meters tall, and collapsing mountains into rubble. The debris was crushed into powder by the divine power contained within the shockwave.
Countless electric arcs shot out from the thunder lance, extending towards the Metal Dragon God's body, dancing across dragon scales that seemed forged from divine metal.
A faint numbing sensation spread, but the Metal Dragon God ignored it.
Despite the electric arcs dancing, the golden dragon body remained unscathed.
The only thing worth noting was that where the thunder lance made direct contact, the blue lightning exploded wildly. Even with the Metal Dragon God's robust physique, the scales showed cracks, with lightning attempting to penetrate the dragon's body.
Boom!
Five dragon heads of different colors simultaneously opened their mouths, each resembling a planet, biting towards the Lord of Storms from various directions.
Inside the dragon mouths, sharp dragon teeth crisscrossed, surrounded by flames, lightning, poisonous fog, acid, and frost.
With a buzz, the Lord of Storms' extraordinary divine power formed a divine shield, expanding outward, but it was torn apart by the Immortal Dragon Queen's heads, failing to block her.
"Hmph."
The Lord of Storms snorted coldly.
He ceased his stalemate with the Metal Dragon God, retracting his thunder lance, and swept it towards the Immortal Dragon Queen's heads.
The Immortal Dragon Queen attacked fiercely, not only using her dragon mouths to bite at the Lord of Storms but also transforming the rest of her body into weapons, attacking the Lord of Storms like a storm.
The dragon gods' semi-divine power manifested most powerfully in their divine dragon bodies, resembling artifacts.
The Metal Dragon God roared, joining the battle, attacking the Lord of Storms from the front and rear with the Immortal Dragon Queen.
Facing the attacks from the two dragon gods, the Lord of Storms maintained a solemn expression. His muscles flexed, resembling intertwined vines, scattered rocks, and gnarled roots. At the same time, thunder, storms, flames, and ice erupted, various natural disasters converging towards the Lord of Storms.
Authority of Weather: Heaven and Earth Unrest!
Different natural disasters formed giant arms on the Lord of Storms, extending from his sides or back. With his original arms, he had a total of eight, constructed from divine materials like silver-white lightning, blue thunder, storms, lava, and ice crystals.
Authority of Creation: Eight-Armed Giant God!
Gods can freely change their forms, but it doesn't mean they can use them in battle.
However, the Lord of Storms fused his authority to create arms as powerful as his divine body, wielding them as naturally as his own.
More thunder descended from the sky, incessantly bombarding the Metal Dragon God and the Immortal Dragon Queen, forming countless weapons like hammers, spears, axes, swords, and shields in the Lord of Storms' arms.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The Lord of Storms swung these divine weapons, creating endless afterimages. In the deafening sounds of metal clashing, each second saw billions of collisions with the heads, claws, wings, and tails of the Immortal Dragon Queen and the Metal Dragon God. Amidst the earth-shattering commotion, fragments of dragon scales flew like mountain fragments.
Despite the ferocious attacks from the two dragon gods at close range, the Lord of Storms stood like a rock in a hurricane, holding his ground and even managing to counterattack.
Though he sustained many claw marks, the Lord of Storms inflicted similar injuries on the Metal Dragon God and the Immortal Dragon Queen. However, their wounds healed instantly, without causing real damage.
Clang! Clang!
Suddenly, the sun of Beastland shone brightly, radiating towards the Immortal Dragon Queen and the Metal Dragon God.
Authority of the Sun: Radiant Sunlight!
The blinding light made it difficult for the two dragon gods to see, their vision filled with white, severely impacting their senses.
Immediately, a barrage of attacks hit their bodies, shattering scales and drawing blood. As they recovered, the Metal Dragon God and the Immortal Dragon Queen roared, shaking off their negative states, and counterattacked the Lord of Storms.
Boom!
The Lord of Storms didn't expect the dragon gods to have such strong resistance to negative states, even his enhanced authority only affecting them momentarily.
Caught off guard, the Lord of Storms' lava arm was shattered by the Metal Dragon God's wing, and his storm arm was frozen and torn by the Immortal Dragon Queen's white dragon head.
Authority of Thunder: Heavenly Thunder!
Two unprecedentedly thick thunderbolts struck the heads of the Metal Dragon God and the Immortal Dragon Queen.
Their heads buzzed, their bodies stiffened.
In that moment, the Lord of Storms regenerated his arms, the eight giant arms of different attributes wielding weapons, launching a frenzied attack on the two dragon gods. The dragon gods quickly shook off the paralysis from the thunder, roaring and continuing the fierce battle with the Lord of Storms.
"They seem like they could fight until the end of the world without a victor."
Just arriving at the Radiant Forest, the god Garon looked up towards the distant depths of the forest, where the three powerful divine forces were clashing.
The mighty divine bodies of the three gods seemed like towering phantoms in Garon's eyes, their movements slow and deliberate. In reality, the battle was so fast and intense it distorted the observers' perceptions.
The Lord of Storms was strong, but the Metal Dragon God and the Immortal Dragon Queen were no weaklings.
To fight evenly against two dragon gods, holding his own, was an achievement most powerful gods could only dream of.
The battle of these powerful gods was too fierce for Garon to intervene.
The silver dragon withdrew his gaze, looking at the giant god in the Radiant Forest.
The God of Mountain Giants, Gloranto.
This mid-level divine giant was nearly twice the size of ordinary mid-level divine giants, towering into the clouds. His legs, like pillars of heaven, surpassed the highest peaks of Beastland. His rocky body was covered in vegetation, with rivers flowing through the muscle crevices, housing various creatures.
Mountain giants were already the largest type of giants, and the Mountain Giant God's size was terrifying.
Opposite the Mountain Giant God was the Dragon God of Death and Judgment, Kronops. The contrast in their sizes was like an adult and a large cat.
The 'large cat' flew around the Mountain Giant God, leaving deep black scars filled with death and decay on his body. The Mountain Giant God reached out a continent-sized hand to grab Kronops, but his movements were slow, failing to harm the Dragon God while accumulating his own injuries.
Despite the many wounds, the Mountain Giant God's face showed no signs of discouragement.
His large body had astounding vitality, and the Dragon God's attacks were insignificant.
On the Mountain Giant God's shoulder was a prairie, where a white wolf lurked in tall grass, the Wolf Lord.
It lay in wait, staring at Kronops. On its right side was a gash almost running through its entire body, surrounded by gray mist with dragon eye imprints, battling against the beast's power.
Dragon gods ranked among the top combatants among gods. Despite both being mid-level divine powers, the Wolf Lord couldn't withstand the Dragon God's might.
Had the Mountain Giant God not arrived in time, the Wolf Lord would have been killed by Kronops.
Now, the Wolf Lord was marked by Kronops' judgment imprint. Several ambush attempts had nearly resulted in its death, so it no longer dared act rashly, staying on the Mountain Giant God's body, searching for opportunities, glaring at the Dragon God.
Under the Wolf Lord's command, its pack charged at Kronops, sacrificing themselves to create trouble for the Dragon God.
However, Kronops opened his divine kingdom, releasing many dragons to sweep away the wolves.
These dragons were at least legendary ancient dragons, with some possessing semi-divine power, leaving the wolf pack defenseless.
Elsewhere, the Giant Goddess of Love, a beautiful, elegant female giant surrounded by blooming roses, faced the Rune and Trickery Dragon, Hel.
"Ah, Giant Goddess of Love, do you manage love among giants?"
"I'm curious, can you make frost giants and fire giants fall in love? What kind of giant would they produce?"
"And what about same-sex giants developing feelings for each other?"
Hel
's incessant chatter irritated the Giant Goddess of Love.
Like the God of Hatred from the Elven Pantheon, she tried to block her hearing, but Hel's words were his supernatural ability, like demonic whispers penetrating her mind.
On the other side, Garon's eyes narrowed.
He saw his designated enemy.
The God of Cloud Giants, Mantor.
In Garon's sight was a giant with golden skin.
Unlike most muscular, strong giants, this one was slender, wearing a deep blue robe, holding a slender warhammer resembling a staff.
His eyes, ethereal like clouds, shone with cunning and wisdom.
The God of Cloud Giants, mid-level divine power, divine rank thirteen, wielded authorities over mind, illusion, spirit, charm, thought, time, and summoning.
Among the giants, cloud giants were also known as the God of Thought and Time. However, time was a secondary authority, with exceptional control over minds and spirits.
The Cloud Giant God had just arrived, intending to aid the Hill Giant God, but was intercepted by Garon in the Radiant Forest.
"Eternal and Temporal Dragon, Garon Aurelius."
"You wish to make me your opponent? I'm honored."
"Ah, I've noticed you since your rise to fame and liked you. If not for the irreconcilable hatred between dragons and giants, I'd love to be your friend, traveling the endless worlds together, admiring the wonderful scenery."
Despite being an enemy, the Cloud Giant God smiled warmly, expressing genuine goodwill.
Garon sensed this goodwill.
Through a filter, Garon saw the Cloud Giant God's gentle, friendly expression, a soft, kind tone, harmless and trustworthy.
"Already affecting my mind? When did it start?"
Garon's heart tightened.
Examining his mind, Garon found no hostility towards the Cloud Giant God.
"Enough talk, die!"
Garon shook his head, spreading his dragon wings, charging at the Cloud Giant God.
The Cloud Giant God showed regret and sorrow, sighing as his form became ethereal.
Whoosh!
Garon's claws passed through the Cloud Giant God, with no substance.
He dissipated into mist, blending with the clouds, hard to trace.
Garon frowned, closing his eyes to search for the Cloud Giant God's presence.
Meanwhile, the Cloud Giant God's voice came from all directions, with a power to stir the soul, gentle and sincere.
"Garon, our racial hatred is like wildfire, endless and renewing. But why must we always hate each other?"
"Dragons and giants are powerful races. If united, the world would submit to us."
A soft breeze seemed to stir Garon's heart, making him subconsciously want to accept the Cloud Giant God's words.
Garon squinted, focusing to steady his shaken mind.
The Cloud Giant God continued, "The dragon and giant pantheons, if a god takes the first step sincerely, I believe our pantheons could one day become allies."
"Why not try? This war only leads to endless bloodshed."
"Look at how many dragons and giants have died in battle, all because of an illusory racial feud."
"Garon Aurelius, think carefully. Perhaps, we could be pioneers, abandoning hatred to become close friends, setting an example to end the enmity between dragons and giants."
The Cloud Giant God's words, imbued with terrifying allure, conjured illusions in Garon's mind.
In the illusions, Garon saw himself and the Cloud Giant God as close friends, persuading their pantheons to cease the war. Under their guidance, the pantheons initiated reforms, leading dragons and giants to become allies.
Red dragons and fire giants called each other brothers.
Blue dragons and storm giants fought side by side.
White dragons and frost giants laughed together.
Dragons and giants relied on each other, gradually merging, ultimately forming a powerful new pantheon, overwhelming other gods to rule the endless worlds together.
Suddenly, Garon snapped back to reality.
In his vision, the Cloud Giant God's slender warhammer was aiming for his eye socket.
Chrono Barrier!
An invisible barrier blocked the attack. Garon roared, spinning his body, his tail slamming the Cloud Giant God away, cracking his divine body.
After steadying himself, feeling the constant pain, the Cloud Giant God's gentle expression turned dark.
"A newly ascended mid-level divine dragon, how can you see through my mind illusions and break free from my influence?"
The Cloud Giant God was annoyed.
This god, the best in the giant pantheon at manipulating minds and spirits, had incited sibling conflicts, even subtly influencing the frost and fire giant gods to deepen their hatred.
However, as a giant god, his divisive actions angered Annam.
Annam punished his offspring, banishing him to the Blazing Hell, never to leave. Later, the Storm Lord, after killing Annam, freed the Cloud Giant God in exchange for loyalty, to fight for the giant pantheon.
"How did you break my mind illusions?"
The Cloud Giant God asked Garon.
Garon chuckled, not explaining.
Why reveal his weakness?
The reason was simple: the innate pride of true dragons, unwilling to share dominion with other races.
Even if dragons and giants could cooperate, they would eventually war for supremacy, unlike the harmonious vision in the Cloud Giant God's illusions.
