Chapter 3: New life
I woke up to a quiet but insistent female voice. It sounded gentle, almost soothing:
- Yuta, are you okay?
Opening my eyes, I saw a middle-aged woman leaning over me. Her long brown hair was neatly tied into a low ponytail, and her delicate features radiated kindness. Her dark blue eyes the color of the sea looked at me with concern. She was dressed in a simple light-colored blouse and a long skirt, which made her appearance even more homely.
I blinked in confusion, trying to comprehend what was happening. Who was she? Why did she call me Yuta? My first thought was to correct her, but I stopped myself. I began to remember everything that had happened to me in these two days: being reborn into a new world, meeting a cursed monster, and also meeting characters from a popular anime. My name was no longer Ken; I heard my name for the first time since coming to the new world. It seemed strange to me, "Yuta," I muttered, as if trying out my newfound name. No point in rushing.
"I... I think everything is fine," I managed to squeeze out, trying not to show my confusion.
She sighed with relief and, smiling, adjusted the blanket on my bed.
"You scared us so much. We were so worried."
Before I could answer, two more people entered the room. It was a middle-aged man, tall and broad-shouldered, with short dark hair and soft, kind eyes the color of darkness. He was holding the hand of a little girl of about 7 or 8 years old. She had the same black hair as the woman, and huge eyes that were now looking at me with concern.
"Yuta! You're already awake!" the little girl exclaimed joyfully and rushed to me, hugging me as much as her small arms could.
I froze. They were all looking at me with such warmth and care that it was almost foreign. I wasn't used to this.
"Be careful, Yui," the man said softly, coming closer. "Your brother still needs to recover."
He smiled at me encouragingly, and I just sat there, unable to find the words. This care, these smiles... It was all so unexpected that I felt tears welling up in my eyes. I tried to hold them back, but I couldn't.
"Hey, what happened? Are you okay?" the woman asked worriedly, getting up from her seat and sitting down next to me.
"It's okay... just... thank you," I mumbled, trying to hide my face.
"Everything will be fine," she muttered, gently stroking my head.
....
I still felt weak, so they all helped me down the stairs. After leaving the hospital, I got into the car with "my" new family. The woman I now called "mom" was driving. The man sat in the front passenger seat, and Yui and I sat in the back.
As the car moved through the city, I looked out the window, thinking. It was a miracle, I ended up in another world, and not just another, but in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. I think most young people have definitely heard of this anime at least once, because this anime was included in the Guinness Book of Records in 2024 as the most popular anime.
Even I, who was busy with 8 hours of studying and 6 hours of work, was interested in this anime. But I never thought that I would want to get into this world. In this world, there are monsters that you can't see, and at the same time, they see you perfectly well and kill you. If it weren't for the shamans and Tengen's barrier, the world would be mired in chaos, humanity would not be able to fight back against these creatures of evil. But in this world, there are shamans who protect ordinary people hiding in the shadows.
My name led me to the theory that I reincarnated as someone important from the anime plot. To prove my theory, I can list three coincidences: first, I reincarnated into the world of JJK, such a miracle could not just happen. Second, on the second day, I encountered a curse and the main characters from the anime. Third, my name is Yuta, and I also look like a character with the same name who appeared at the end of the last season of the anime for a few minutes. I glanced cautiously into the car's rearview mirror and saw a pale boy of about ten years old with dark blue eyes, prominent bags under his eyes, and raven-black hair. In the first season, Yuta Okkotsu had been noted as a powerful shaman, as I recall, and Gojou had noted his incredible potential. And now I had the family I had always dreamed of. I was not alone.

Yuta's parents' POV
The doctor folded his arms and looked at us seriously.
"Yuta is in severe shock. The accident he was in has affected him greatly. He lost a friend who was very close to him. I strongly recommend not to bring up this topic until he himself initiates the conversation."
I clasped my hands in my lap, feeling my heart squeeze with pain. My boy has been through so much... I looked at my husband. He nodded, confirming that we will follow the doctor's advice.
"Thank you, doctor," he said quietly.

When we arrived home, I looked around the new place with excitement. The house was quite spacious and cozy, it felt caring and loving. There were family photos on the walls. One of them was me - the old Yuta - holding Yui in my arms, and our parents were smiling next to me.
This world seemed so warm and kind that I involuntarily felt relieved. If before I was struggling to survive, now I had the opportunity to live. A real family. A real life.
I firmly decided: if this world gave me a chance, I would do everything to live happily.
