Rebirth of the Last Days: Double Pets

Chapter 10 - Ends

The things on the first and second floors don’t take up much space, and the two of them didn’t take much clothes, so they calculated that there was about one-third of the space left.
On the fourth floor are some bedding and outdoor camping tools.

Tang Ruo collected more than twenty sets of bedding sets and more than twenty quilts and mattresses. When she felt that it was enough, she went to meet Bai Qi, who was picking out outdoor camping equipment.

Bai Qi’s cart was already filled with outdoor wrenches, utility knives, and engineer shovels… He saw Tang Ruo coming over and pointed at a pile of flashlights and camping lamps and said, “Put them all away.”

Tang Ruo naturally did as she was told.

Then Bai Qi pushed a cart of tools and fitness equipment over and asked her to put them all away.

After packing everything up, the two took out two camping bags and put them on their backs. The bags contained some biscuits, water, towels, and other things, all to conceal the space.

They went up to the fifth floor in one breath.

The fifth floor is where the restaurants in the mall are concentrated. All the restaurants have their own doors and courtyards, which means that to get in, you have to break the door locks of each restaurant. The two thought about it and felt that there shouldn’t be much food in the restaurants, so they didn’t start from door to door but only picked two particularly large restaurants, one of which was a seafood restaurant and the other was a steak restaurant.

When Bai Qi opened the kitchen door of the seafood restaurant, he saw many seafood being raised in water tanks and stored in freezers.

Anyway, in Tang Ruo’s space, time was still, so they naturally abandoned the freezer and water tank and put away all the seafood. They also put away all the coal briquettes, coal, and gas tanks in the kitchen.

The next steak house was robbed in the same way.

After collecting all these, Tang Ruo felt it and said, “The space is almost used up. There are still several dozen square meters.”

Bai Qi nodded and planned to leave here and go home directly.

But before going home, there is one more thing to do.

Bai Qi took Tang Ruo and slowly walked up to the sixth floor.

This is the control room of the mall, which has all the mall’s surveillance. The mall still has electricity, and if the surveillance video is not destroyed, it is inevitable that something unexpected will happen, allowing others to see Tang Ruo’s “strangeness.”.

They could hear growling noises coming from inside through the door. There were zombies inside, and more than one.

The door of the security room was very solid. Tang Ruo watched Bai Qi skillfully unlock the door with a piece of wire. She forgot to be surprised and just focused on the door, fearing that some zombies would suddenly jump out and bite her to death.

But Bai Qi was obviously used to such scenes. He unlocked the door and held the door handle. He heard the zombies gather behind the door and kicked the door hard. The zombies were squeezed behind the door. Bai Qi looked around the room and found no other zombies. Then he said, “Come on, get rid of them.”

Tang Ruo also understood that Bai Qi was training her. Even though she was afraid, she gritted her teeth, gripped the engineer shovel tightly, and walked over.

Bai Qi stopped kicking the door, and the zombies rushed towards them excitedly, as if they had been injected with chicken blood.

Tang Ruo bent down slightly, gripped the engineer shovel with both hands and swung it out.

“Bang, bang!”

Two dull thumps came from the engineer’s shovel. Two quick swings caused the zombie to be shaken back behind the door.

“Aim at the head and hit it with one shot.” Bai Qi instructed from the side.
Tang Ruo took another deep breath, raised the engineer shovel, walked quickly forward, and thrust the shovel into the head of a zombie.

When she reacted, she found that the zombie was about to reach out and grab her arm but was blocked by Bai Qi’s kick in the chest.

Bai Qi kicked away the zombie that Tang Ruo had killed. “When killing zombies, you must pay attention to your own safety. If you do this, you will only turn yourself into a monster like him.”

Tang Ruo nodded with disordered breathing.

“There’s one more, hurry!”

“Bang! Bang! Bang!” Tang Ruo fought even harder this time, hitting the zombie’s head hard until her hands began to tremble.

“Come in.” It was not until Bai Qi turned around and shouted that she came to her senses. She looked and saw that the zombie’s head had been smashed to the ground, and everything inside had jumped out.

In the monitoring room, Bai Qi was concentrating on hacking the security system in front of the computer, while Tang Ruo was standing behind him, holding onto the wall, and vomiting.

It only took Bai Qi a few minutes to hack into the entire network system of the mall, but he was still worried. After all, he hadn’t touched these things for three years. Now, his methods of fighting zombies were much more advanced than the computer operations he learned in college.

So he asked Tang Ruo to get him a hammer, and he smashed the monitor to pieces.

After finishing his work, he naturally has to go home.

Bai Qi looked at Tang Ruo, who was drinking water and became a brave man again after drinking the water. He raised his eyebrows: “Let’s go downstairs and go back.”

Tang Ruo put away the water and nodded.

She looked up and saw Bai Qi staring at her. She tightened the engineer shovel in her hand and said with a pursed mouth: “Don’t worry, since we are teaming up to fight monsters, I will not be a pig-like teammate. I will try my best to do what you assign to me and keep up with your pace.”

She didn’t want to hold him back. Although she had her own space, she didn’t want to become what Bai Qi said at that time: sitting back and waiting to die.

She had lived that kind of life for many years in her previous life, and she really didn’t want to experience it again.

Bai Qi glanced at her hand. The palm had already turned red from being rubbed. If she continued to rub it, it might even bleed…

Such a will is indeed rare.

It was already around one in the afternoon, and when they went downstairs and passed the gate, they heard some noises. At this moment, there were indeed people in the supermarket downstairs, but not many, probably only a few groups of people.

The foreign imported snacks section of the supermarket was almost emptied, but Tang Ruo and Bai Qi didn’t touch much of the other places because they went directly into the warehouse to move things, except for the yogurts that Tang Ruo requested.

“Damn, doesn’t it say imported snacks here? Why are all their shelves empty?”

“Maybe someone got there first and took all of them.”

“How many people are needed to carry so many things? Didn’t you see the cars parked outside? Can you count them on one hand?”

Hearing the sound coming from downstairs, the two looked at each other, then ran out in low steps.

People nowadays haven’t awakened their superpowers yet, so they won’t think of space powers, but they’re still just in case.

Sure enough, there were already several cars parked at the door they entered.

The two of them got into the approaching sports car and sped away.

After turning a corner, they saw a police car coming towards them.

On the first day of the apocalypse, the government was still actively working to stabilize people’s hearts and control the situation.

When they passed a gas station on the way, they found that armed police officers were already guarding the door with heavy weapons.

Bai Qi took a look and drove over.
