Chapter 175.1
Li Tianyan’s chest was pressed against Cheng Qi’s back, and Cheng Qi could even feel his heartbeat. The beats were very regular, which made Cheng Qi feel inexplicably at ease.
Li Tianyan, who was teaching him how to draw, saw Cheng Qi suddenly nuzzle into his arms like a cat. He couldn’t help but slap him on the forehead in both annoyance and amusement. “You said you wanted to learn to draw, but you got distracted.”
“Because it’s warm and comfortable!” Cheng Qi, caught off guard, shrank his neck and sat upright. This time, he didn’t dare to think about it and focused on painting with Li Tianyan.
In the wing room dimly lit with the warm glow of the oil lamp, their two figures almost overlapped. Li Tianyan’s nose filled with the nostalgic fragrance mixed with a faint scent of ink. A soft, warm smile appeared on his face as he guided Cheng Qi through each stroke, sketching the characters on the paper.
When the image in the painting became clear, Cheng Qi couldn’t help but blink his clear eyes, then smiled, arching his eyebrows.
In Li Tianyan’s painting, two people stood embracing under a pear tree. One appeared agile and the other calm and expressive, and they couldn’t hide their affection while looking at each other. The pear blossoms in the background made the scene feel even more spring-like.
Cheng Qi recognized it at a glance; the two figures on the paper were him and Li Tianyan, which made him even happier than when Li Tianyan painted with him.
“Do you like it?” Li Tianyan asked, turning to look at Cheng Qi.
“Yeah, I like it,” Cheng Qi replied. He naturally liked it, and his liking went beyond words.
Seeing the undisguised joy and dependence in Cheng Qi’s eyes, a wave of warmth slowly rose in Li Tianyan, and his smile took on a slightly more ambiguous tone. “Do you still want to continue learning?”
The excited Cheng Qi nodded, set the painting aside, took out a new piece of paper, and stood ready for Li Tianyan to continue.
Li Tianyan covered Cheng Qi’s hand again, his palm feeling slightly warmer than before. He leaned forward to encircle Cheng Qi in his arms, even pressing their cheeks together.
Sensing Li Tianyan’s actions, Cheng Qi blushed, and his heartbeat quickened, but he kept his focus on painting with Li Tianyan. But…
There seemed to be something unusual about the painting this time. Cheng Qi felt that Li Tianyan’s strokes were lighter, and the lines thinner. Instead of one painting taking up the entire space, he divided it into four smaller sketches.
In the first sketch on the upper right corner, the two of them were touching foreheads, kissing under the pear tree. In the second, their clothes were slightly dishevelled, and they appeared half-embraced. In the third, their shoulders were exposed, and the two had moved from kissing to a more intimate nibbling.
As Li Tianyan’s hand moved toward the last blank spot to continue drawing, Cheng Qi murmured in a trembling voice, “Young master, if you… draw any more, it’ll be too much.”
“Alright, let’s stop drawing then.” Li Tianyan happily set the pen aside and buried his head in Cheng Qi’s neck, nibbling lightly.
Cheng Qi had felt a little emotional since just before. They had been together for a long time and didn’t hesitate. He slightly raised his head to make it easier for him and let out a few soft sighs.
Seeing Cheng Qi’s siren-like expression, Li Tianyan could hardly restrain himself. He was about to pick him up and take him to the bed to continue.
Suddenly, Cheng Qi opened his eyes, her gaze sparkling. “Young master, it seems I can smell spiritual wine.”
Seeing that the little one was still thinking about spiritual wine at a time like this, Li Tianyan bit his shoulder as if to punish him, scolding with a smile, “Since when did you get that sharp of a nose?”
.
On the locust tree branch in the courtyard, Cheng Yu, who was watching the moon and drinking alone, saw two figures suddenly appear around him and said with some surprise, “I thought you guys were resting.”
He knew that Li Tianyan was back, so he had waited a while before coming out. He simply didn’t want to disturb the two of them, but he hadn’t expected they wouldn’t be asleep by this time.
“Brother, why are you hiding here drinking spiritual wine alone? You should have called me,” Cheng Qi said, sitting down on the tree and eyeing the spiritual wine in Cheng Yu’s hand greedily.
“My younger brother has a Daoist companion; why should I disturb him on a spring night?” Cheng Yu teased, a sly look in his eyes as he noticed the marks on Cheng Qi’s neck.
At that, Cheng Qi recalled what he and Li Tianyan had been doing before coming outside, and a faint blush appeared on his face.
Li Tianyan shook his head in amusement, then took out a bottle of spiritual wine from the Qiankun Realm and handed it to Cheng Qi. “Drink as you wish tonight.”
Before, he hadn’t let Cheng Qi drink too much because there had been things to take care of, but tonight there was no need to hold back, so he invited Cheng Qi to enjoy a drink with Cheng Yu.
“This tastes like Elder Tian Min’s spiritual wine,” Cheng Qi remarked, sniffing it with a smile. The wine tasted just like the one Elder Tian Min had brought out to entertain them the day they formed a contract.
“Well, if you like it, I’ll ask Master for as many jars as you want,” Li Tianyan said, rubbing the top of Cheng Qi’s head.
“Young master, you’re the best.” Cheng Qi hugged the wine bottle and smiled happily.
“You two are something else.” Cheng Yu looked at the two of them acting like they were alone in front of him and shook his head with a touch of envy.
Cheng Qi, reminded of his presence, stuck out his tongue in embarrassment and then offered him the wine in his hand. “Brother, do you want to try it? This spiritual wine is delicious.”
“Thank you.” Cheng Yu, seeing that his own bottle was empty, accepted it without hesitation.
Seeing this, Li Tianyan took out two more bottles of spiritual wine and joined them in drinking.
