Chapter 2: This Man is Extremely Powerful
Even though she was mentally prepared, she still let out a startled cry.
Others were also stunned.
No one knew what was going on, but the only thing they wanted to do was to escape from there as quickly as possible.
However, there was no way ahead.
The toll booth had been destroyed, and the wreckage of cars from both genders fell from the sky, once again blocking the passage tightly.
Su Ling happened to be behind them. Seeing the enormous hurricane swirling up, she couldn't help but clench her teeth and step on the gas pedal forcefully.
The car immediately shot forward like an arrow, heading straight for the toll booth. The incredibly high speed caused the car to bounce, flying over ten meters in the air before landing with a loud bang.
Su Ling quickly glanced at the various functions inside the car and found they were undamaged. She immediately sped ahead, and wherever she passed, the ground collapsed rapidly, and a surge of water mixed with hot air gushed out from below.
Many people wanted to follow Su Ling's lead and charge ahead, but their cars weren't fast enough, and their vehicles weren't sturdy enough. They either fell into the pit or got blown away by the hurricane.
Su Ling didn't dare to look back; she opened the GPS to navigate directly to Lizhou.
She didn't know what would happen in the future, but no matter what, she would do her best to survive this life.
Half an hour later, the road gradually became stable.
Su Ling turned on the radio, and after a burst of noise, the broadcast began.
"Donghai has encountered a massive disaster. The number of casualties and injuries is currently incalculable. There seems to be an unknown bacterium in the air, and some people have shown signs of madness, attacking others. Before the situation becomes clear, we advise the general public to stay indoors and wait for rescue."
She was well aware that Donghai would fall in no time, and there was no chance of rescue.
Thinking of the nearly one billion innocent civilians, Su Ling couldn't help but sigh.
It wasn't that she didn't want to save people, but her car was already packed with passengers, and there was no room for more. Besides, in times like this, people were often more frightening than zombies.
At this moment, a sign for a gas station appeared up ahead.
Su Ling suddenly remembered that she only had half a tank of gas left and immediately slowed down.
At the entrance of the gas station, she got out of the car.
A gas station attendant in a yellow work uniform came out from inside.
Seeing Su Ling, who was alone, his gaze lingered on her.
Su Ling didn't want any trouble; she paid quickly and intended to leave, but the man grabbed her.
He looked at Su Ling with ill intentions and used his body to block the car door.
"Hey, beautiful lady, where are you heading so late?"
Su Ling frowned. "Home."
After saying that, she went around to the other side of the car.
The man suddenly caught up and hugged her from behind.
"Hey, don't rush to leave, beautiful."
Su Ling reacted quickly and fiercely stomped on his foot.
"Damn, you're quite feisty, just the way I like it."
The man grabbed Su Ling's hair and forced her down to the ground.
Su Ling let out a muffled groan and regretted not having a scalpel in her pocket.
Just as she was about to fall into the hands of this man, a piercing engine roar was heard. A royal blue Maserati rushed over from a distance, and its headlights shone directly on Su Ling.
Screech.
The brakes sounded, and the sedan stopped beside Su Ling.
A man with unusually long legs gracefully stepped out of the car.
The man was exceptionally tall, measuring about two meters, and his shadowy silhouette had a deep and three-dimensional appearance. His thin lips were slightly pursed, exuding an air of seasoned authority.
Struggling to lift her head, Su Ling pleaded softly, "Save me."
The gas station attendant still held Su Ling tightly, and his voice was harsh as he said, "After refueling, get out of here and don't meddle."
The man glanced at the gas station attendant and calmly uttered three words.
"Let her go."
"To hell with you."
The gas station attendant released Su Ling, and he stood up, throwing a punch.
The gas station's surveillance cameras were conveniently malfunctioning, and they rarely encountered such a stunning beauty as Su Ling, who was well-endowed. They couldn't let this opportunity slip away.
"Looking for trouble."
The man grabbed the gas station attendant's hand, twisted his wrist, and the attendant immediately kneeled with a painful cry.
With a swift kick, the man sent him flying several meters away.
Su Ling quickly got up and stood beside the man.
Indeed, he was very tall. Su Ling, standing at one meter seventy-five, appeared extremely petite next to him.
"Are you alright?"
The man lowered his gaze; his voice was deep, pleasant, and magnetic.
"I'm fine, thank you."
Su Ling expressed her gratitude and noticed that he was also dressed in a black suit. She immediately looked at his wrist, where she saw a large wristwatch securely fastened.
It couldn't be him.
Moreover, the person who rescued her drove a white Land Rover.
Su Ling felt a bit disappointed, but then she saw the man furrowing his brow and looking ahead.
When Su Ling turned around, she was instantly shocked by the scene before her.
The gas station attendant, whom the man had kicked far away, was now crawling up from the ground like a gigantic spider, assuming an eerie posture.
Mutated!
"Mutated" was the first word that came to Su Ling's mind.
The attendant rapidly charged towards the two of them.
Su Ling's face turned pale, and she grabbed the man, shouting, "He turned into a zombie, let's go!"
The man stood still until the zombie extended its claws. Then, he made an uncanny move, striking the zombie's neck with a swift knife hand.
In the silent night, the sound of bones cracking echoed, and the zombie fell to the ground with a loud thud.
Su Ling opened her mouth in astonishment.
Is this still a human being?
Isn't this man too formidable?
"Uncle is amazing."
The door of the Maserati opened.
A five-six-year-old boy got out of the car.
Wearing carrot-shaped overalls, with a melon rind on his head, the little boy had a round and adorable face, looking extremely naive and cute.
The man reached out and picked up the little boy, then turned to Su Ling.
"What exactly is going on?" he asked.
Su Ling immediately explained the situation in Donghai in the shortest possible time. The man seemed skeptical, his narrow eyes swirling restlessly as they fixated on Su Ling's face.
At that moment, the little boy hugged his phone and said softly, "Uncle, it's true. There are zombies in Donghai, and we can't go back."
The man furrowed his brow and took out his phone.
He made several calls, but all of them showed no signal.
His handsome face turned a shade darker with cold resolve.
Just then, the ground suddenly trembled violently.
With a muffled bang, the Maserati was lifted more than three feet high by a tremendous force, spinning twice in the air before landing upside down on the ground.
The gas station's fuel tank was also uprooted by that force, and a pungent smell of gasoline permeated the air.
Su Ling's Passat, like a frog, jumped twice in place, and the ground cracked with a snap at the rear wheel.
"Get in the car."
Seeing that this place was about to become like Donghai, Su Ling immediately opened the car door.
The man glanced at his own Maserati and quickly made a decision, opening the door and getting into Su Ling's car.
Without wasting any words, Su Ling stepped on the gas pedal and sped away from the gas station.
One minute later, a thunderous explosion echoed from behind.
The flames soared into the sky.
