Redemption Of The Yandere Villain

Chapter 74: Crime of Deceit

Eugene abstains from engaging in arguments with Kaizer.

The following day, he arrives at the court accompanied by Kaizer, Khalil, and the grand duke. There, he catches sight of his father and mother with red eyes. His brother Euric remains motionless, displaying an icy demeanor, while his younger sister Eunice seems oblivious to the weight of the situation, humming softly. On the opposing side of his family, the Del Viltaria family is present.

Seated alongside the duchess is her daughter, Britanny.

Cadmus and Casimin appear composed, yet a storm brews within Casimin's eyes upon Eugene's entrance.

Finally, he sees him alive at last.

Eugene remains unaware of the emotional turmoil plaguing Casimin.

The emperor sits among the judges, while in the center of the hall, Eugene's parents engage in conversation with the lawyers.

Taking a seat at the front, under the watchful gaze of others, Eugene glances at the emperor, raising an eyebrow.

"Your Majesty the Emperor, I extend my greetings. May divine light shower blessings upon you, guiding the empire for thousands of years."

The emperor waves his hand and smiles.

"I am glad you have appeared."

Eugene maintains a stoic expression as he sits beside Kaizer, who tightly clutches his hand.Soon, the trial commences.

Eugene silently observes the unfolding scene.

He senses Kaizer's anger and witnesses the grand duke's disappointment. His father eloquently presents his case with reason and knowledge, while the marchioness, when questioned by the judges, grows pale and stammers.

Duke Del Viltaria, present during the trial, supports his lover.

Gradually, the truth unravels, prompting even the emperor to furrow his brow upon understanding the situation.

"The victim is a prominent figure of the empire; let us not spread falsehoods and confuse the people."

Marchioness Celisha grits her teeth. "I have never abused my own son!"

"Evidence has been provided. We possess proof of your guilt."

Marquis Shradinza purses his lips, observing as the lawyer condemns his wife."Lord Shradinza, you too are guilty of such a crime."

Marquis Shradinza turns his head and glances at his son. Euric's face reflects disgust as he refuses to acknowledge such a father. This realization fills Marquis Shradinza with a sense of finality, as he has lost all his children due to his self-centeredness and constant prioritization of the family's interests.

His eyes turn red, not with anger, but with shame.

Duke Del Viltaria, aware that his lover will face immediate conviction, pleads with the emperor."Your Majesty, Marquis Shradinza committed this crime under the influence of manipulation. Please take this into consideration when making your decision. I am ready to accept guilt as long as my lover can be pardoned."

Everyone widens their eyes upon hearing the Duke's plea.

"Lover?!"

"Oh my god!"

The room erupts into murmurs.

Even Marquis Shradinza fails to comprehend why Duke Del Viltaria made such a statement."Duke Del Viltaria, do you know what you are saying?!"

The emperor expresses his anger.

"Your majesty, I have long concealed the fact that I have been engaged in adultery. Eugene is my and Aison's son. This revelation is a consequence of the side effects of prolonged memory manipulation, for which I take full responsibility—"

"What are you talking about?!"

Marquis Shradinza glares at Duke Del Viltaria, regarding him as if he were insane.

Marchioness Celisha shakes her head and collapses onto the floor. "No! No! This cannot be true!"

Duchess Krishna, observing as an audience member, wipes her tears, shutting her eyes in agony upon hearing the Duke's words.

She was aware, and yet, it still pains her.

Eugene watches as everything descends into chaos, realizing that many eyes are fixed upon him, waiting to witness his reaction.

Casimin looks at his father with hatred, while Cadmus glances anxiously at his weeping mother, consumed by heartbreak.

Duke Del Viltaria sighs, feeling utterly drained.

"Your majesty, please grant me permission to employ magic and dispel the spell."

The emperor is dumbfounded by this revelation. When the Duke requests to use magic and immediately lifts the spell, the emperor's gaze falls upon the grand duke, who sits and observes the spectacle. Then, the emperor looks at Eugene, who remains calm, observing everything unfold.

"Duke Del Viltaria, I command you to lift the spell and initiate another trial."

Duke Del Viltaria's eyelashes tremble, and a magic circle materializes, enveloping the Marquis, Marchioness, and even Euric and Eunice.

Within a second, the scream of Marchioness Celisha shatters the silence.

"It's you! A scheming fox who seduced my husband!"

Marchioness Celisha attempted to rush toward the Duke but was restrained.

"Let go! This is unlawful! No matter the reason, I am here to confront this conniving fox who won't release my husband!"

Duke Del Viltaria's icy gaze pierced the Marchioness with anger.

"Please choose your words wisely. Furthermore, I am not the one who ruined your life. It is you who knows no contentment. I merely sought revenge against you for coveting someone who should have been mine!"

"Lies! It was you who married that woman and abandoned Aison! What right do you have to pursue my husband after the two of us were married?! Admit it! You are a persistent fox who cannot let go of my husband, resorting to destroying my family!"

Marquis Shradinza, seemingly awakening from a daze, remained silent but turned his head, looking at Eugene.

"Let me tell you! Aison only married you out of obligation to his father! He did not love you, and you forced him to have a child with you, binding him to you! You are a vile woman who destroyed a family that should never have existed in the first place!"

Marchioness Celisha screamed, "Arghh, I'll kill you, you bastard!"

Eugene observed the spectacle, arms crossed.

Watching the Duke argue with the deranged woman provided him with amusement. He could never tire of witnessing the clash between two contemptible individuals. Duchess Krishna wiped away the tears that continued to stream down her face.

Cadmus said, "Mother."

Duchess Krishna shook her head. "It's fine. I'm fine."

Casimin could not bear to see his mother suffer but refrained from intervening, realizing she was fully aware of his father's affair. From the beginning, the Duke never promised his love to her, and he had already declared his love for the Marquis, his unrequited first love.

Britanny glanced at her mother and brothers.

There was no anger in her eyes. After numerous disappointments from her father, she had stopped expecting anything. The revelation of his affair did not incite any strong reaction from her. Her concerns solely revolved around her mother, who was also a victim.

"Mom, please don't cry."

Duchess Krishna forced a smile, finally drying her tear-stained cheeks.

"My daughter, I'm sorry."

Britanny shook her head. "You don't have to apologize, Mom. I already knew that the concept of a complete family was never meant for me."

Casimin gazed at Eugene, dazed, prompting Cadmus to tightly grasp his brother's hand.

"Don't look."

Casimin was taken aback and looked at Cadmus, pursing his lips.

"We've already discussed this. You are my little brother, and nothing will change that."

"Don't look, brother."

Casimin sighed. "Alright."

The emperor could no longer bear the commotion and ordered another trial to take place. This time, Duke Del Viltaria's numerous crimes were thoroughly weighed, leading to a direct verdict. Of course, Marquis Shradinza and Marchioness Celisha were also held accountable. As they still held positions as heads of one of the four pillar families of the empire, the emperor reluctantly apologized to Eugene since he could not impose the punishment the criminals truly deserved.

Kaizer grew furious and wished to appeal.

However, Eugene restrained him and rose to his feet, addressing the emperor with a proposal. All eyes were fixed on Eugene.

Stepping down from his seat among the audience, Eugene walked to the front and conveyed the punishment he desired since the emperor could not order their execution.

He wanted his parents to live a life plagued by guilt and suffering.

He suggested to the emperor that considering their profound affection for each other, they should allow them to remain together. They were stripped of all their titles and wealth and the heir was immediately appointed as the head of the household. His brother, Euric, and Casimin were capable enough to manage the Shradinza and Del Viltaria households, so there would be no loss since the two also possessed the ability to replace their parents.

Only the offspring would continue living in the ancestral residence.

The children would disown their parents.

Marchioness Celisha gazed at Eugene in horror, unable to fathom why her son would be so unkind to her and Aison. What's more, Euric also stood among the audience, agreeing with Eugene's proposal.

Since execution was not an option, they would be left to fend for themselves.

The crimes committed included deceit and the violation of their right to have a complete family. Arkiton, Aison, and Celisha were thrown into the dungeon. However, before that happened, Arkiton looked at Eugene and pleaded with him not to include Krishna, his duchess.

Eugene glanced at the duchess, who wore a sorrowful expression while looking at her husband. Surprise was evident on her face upon hearing her husband's plea.

"Father..."

Arkiton gazed at his son with reddened eyes.

"I wanted to inform you that I never desired to be born."

Not in the past, nor in this life.

Because being born only meant enduring the consequences of original sin. He had endured enough suffering and wanted to put an end to it all. He couldn't forgive those who were responsible for his suffering.

Tears welled in Duke Del Viltaria's eyes as he lowered his head.

"I understand. I'm sorry. I deeply regret it."

Eugene didn't even spare him a glance and left the courtroom.

He didn't bother witnessing their forced removal because starting the next day, they would no longer be part of his world. He was no longer a child of a Marquis and Marchioness. With the revelation becoming known to others, he was now the son of the Marquis and the Duke. His dual lineage finally made sense, as he was the child of a magician and a swordsman.

Kaizer followed Eugene outside and remarked, "The trial was remarkably swift."

"That's because the duke surrendered, unable to accept the fact that his lover would be imprisoned."

"But why did you decide on that particular punishment?"

Eugene chuckled.

"I'm curious to see how long their love will endure."

Kaizer gazed into Eugene's eyes.

"You appear to be in immense pain."

"Who wouldn't, Kaizer? I've lived a life of lies for thousands of years. Do you think I should rejoice now that they've been condemned by the law and the public?"

Kaizer pursed his lips and accompanied Eugene.

"I promise."

Kaizer halted and watched Eugene's back.

"I won't force you to have a child, so please rest assured."

Eugene's steps came to a halt.

"I hope you'll keep your word, Kaizer. This world isn't meant for us to bring a child into, only for them to suffer."

"I understand. You're right."

Kaizer finally comprehended why Eugene wanted to call off the marriage. It's because he's expecting a family that Eugene feared to build. Eugene did not refuse him not because he hated him but because the world they live in is not suitable for such a child born of magic to exist. Eugene feared that a child of their blood would face the same fate as them.

It was arduous.

If one day the world became peaceful.

He wondered if their wish would come true.

"Brother."

Khalil suddenly emerged from nowhere and obstructed Kaizer's path.

"Why are you here? Where's Father?"

"Father said he would go to the dungeon to see a friend. He wanted me to return with you"

Kaizer clicked his tongue.

"How bothersome."

Khalil pouted, "If you don't take me with you, Daddy will get angry!"

Kaizer continued walking, ignoring his silly younger brother.

As he stepped outside the building, he noticed Eugene and Casimin conversing. Kaizer raised an eyebrow and approached them to listen to their discussion.

"We're twin brothers!"

Eugene locked eyes with Casimin, who appeared anxious to stop him.

"Do you understand? Our parents are the Duke and the Marquis. We were both born through magic. We were separated because Father exchanged you with Cadmus."

Eugene remained silent, simply listening.

"I know you can't return to the Marquis's residence or the Duke's household since you already live in the grand dukedom and are about to get married. Nonetheless, I wanted us to acknowledge each other as siblings, we—"

Eugene gestured for the other party to pause.

"You should calm down before talking to me."

Casimin's face turned pale.

"Eugene, I—"

"I understand. We're twins, and you don't need to explain everything to me. I already know. However, what's important now is not our sibling connection, but your relationship with Cadmus and Britanny. They have been your siblings for years, so prioritize them and make sure they don't feel neglected. I accept you as my brother, so don't worry too much."

Casimin gazed at Eugene with teary eyes and nodded.

"T-Thank you. I-I thought you would hate me."

"I won't."
