Chapter 0015: The Shocked Big Shots
Chapter 0015: The Shocked Big Shots
Dumbfounded…
At that moment, the four big shots in the Hokage’s office were all stunned. To think that Asuma Sarutobi, the son of the Hokage, had been defeated in one hit by a fellow trainee!
This was so unexpected that even these legendary ninjas, who had seen their fair share of battles and upheavals, were left feeling a mix of absurdity and astonishment.
If they were shocked, you can only imagine the reaction of everyone at the training field.
Aside from the somewhat expectant Kurenai Yuhi, everyone else had their mouths agape, staring blankly at my bare-chested figure. Their minds were buzzing, completely blank.
As the cause of this entire situation, I had no intention of sticking around to be the center of attention. I turned my gaze towards the nearby teacher, Mr. Miyamoto, and asked, "So, can I leave now?"
Mr. Miyamoto, only just realizing what had happened, looked at me as if I were a monster. "Y-Yes. You won... The victor is Yūhi Hiroto!"
He clearly had a lot of questions he wanted to ask, but as a teacher, he kept those thoughts to himself and hurried over to check on Asuma Sarutobi’s injuries.
Boom.
As soon as Mr. Miyamoto’s words left his mouth, a massive uproar erupted across the training field.
“No way! Asuma Sarutobi was taken down so easily?”
“There must be some kind of conspiracy! I know Asuma’s strength, and even compared to real ninjas, he’s no slouch. How could he be defeated in one hit?”
“Maybe he was overconfident or something.”
“That could be a factor, but the main point is... Yūhi No Moon’s strength is genuinely impressive!”
“Even if he’s strong, this is still too exaggerated!”
The crowd buzzed with speculation, their chatter almost as loud as when Uchiha Yui won before.
In the stands, Katō Shizune glanced at me as I walked away and then turned to Kurenai Yuhi. “Kurenai, you seemed to have expected this result?”
“Yes, I knew Asuma would lose,” Kurenai replied, rubbing her temples. “But I didn’t expect Hiroto to defeat him so quickly.”
Was it because of me?
Kurenai couldn’t help but wonder.
She was an emotional and smart girl. She knew well that Asuma had often shown her attention with a certain purpose. Although Kurenai had rejected his advances firmly, he had persisted, causing her considerable frustration.
Just when she thought this annoying situation would continue, her brother suddenly made such a shocking declaration in class! This shifted Asuma’s attention from her to him.
Then, the conflict between them escalated into a bet. And today, he had defeated Asuma in front of so many people with just one move. Asuma, no matter how thick-skinned, probably wouldn’t continue to harass her after this public humiliation.
Thinking of this, Kurenai felt a pang of relief and even a bit of emotion.
But as she looked at me approaching with a silly grin on my face, she sighed and thought, “Unfortunately... he’s a bit of a weirdo!”
...
...
In the Hokage office.
After a long silence, Hiruzen Sarutobi tapped his smoking pipe and suddenly asked, “What do you all think of this kid?”
“His speed and strength exceed those of a typical Chunin,” Orochimaru grinned. “At his age, reaching this level can be considered a super genius.”
Tsunade frowned and added, “He only used one punch, so there’s too little information to analyze. But I agree with Orochimaru; this kid can definitely be called a genius.”
Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded lightly, then glanced at the final member of the group.
Strangely enough, Jiraiya, who usually loved to make a fuss, was staring ahead with a dazed expression, muttering, “This doesn’t make sense...”
“What doesn’t make sense?” Hiruzen Sarutobi leaned in, puzzled.
Jiraiya finally came to his senses, scratching his head. “Oh, right... About half a month ago, I had a drink with Shinji. He mentioned that his son couldn’t channel chakra and asked me for advice.”
What?
Everyone in the room, including Hiruzen Sarutobi, was stunned. If Shinji wasn’t joking, then this meant that from not being able to cultivate chakra to now, it had been at most half a month?!
Shock! Tremendous Shock…
The people present were as shocked as Jiraiya had been earlier.
In just half a month, transforming from a completely ordinary person without chakra into someone at the level of an elite Chunin... Such a training speed even made the big shots present marvel!
This wasn’t something that could be described with vague terms like “talent”; it was undoubtedly the mark of a true genius!
And all of this was remarked and addressed to one person… Yuhi Hiroto.
