Chapter 0034: A Powerful Woman
Chapter 0034: A Powerful Woman
I cursed inwardly.
I should’ve known better than to have any expectations from this damn system. What a load of nonsense! No matter how I looked at it, all three options were death sentences!
And really? Measuring her chest to gauge her strength? Patting her butt to see if she’s built for childbirth? What kind of crazy logic is that?! Explain it to me!
Of course, expecting any explanation from the system was foolish.
This damn thing only ever showed up to give me ridiculous tasks, hand out rewards, and threaten punishments. It never bothered with explanations or even small talk—cold and heartless as a machine could be.
So, with no other choice, I grudgingly chose the second option. At least, compared to the hellish difficulty of the first or the outright suicidal third, the second seemed slightly better. Just a bit.
Opposite to me, Tsunade seemed blissfully unaware that I was plotting something unspeakable involving her rear. She beckoned me forward with a slight wave. “What are you waiting for? Don’t be such a coward, fight like a man.”
A man? I’m still a boy!
I muttered in my head but didn’t argue. No point in stalling—either way, this was going to happen. Might as well face it head-on.
“Tsunade-sensei, here I come.” Since this was a spar, it was only polite to announce my attack. My hands quickly formed a series of hand signs, channeling a surge of fire chakra into my chest, causing my cheeks to puff up.
Is that...?
Tsunade’s eyes widened in mild surprise. He even knows this technique?
Fire Style: Dragon Flame Bullet!
I opened my mouth, unleashing a torrent of flames as thick as a barrel. The heat and intensity were so fierce that even Kurenai and Shizune, standing far from the battlefield, felt the scorching heat on their faces.
Hmph!
Tsunade didn’t take such a high-level technique lightly. She slammed her fist into the ground, sending up a wall of debris and stones that rose in front of her.
Boom!
The flames cut through the debris, but their intensity had lessened. Tsunade punched forward again, her fist creating a gust of wind that completely dispersed the remaining flames.
She broke through an A-rank jutsu with just her fists? Seriously, this woman is a monster!
I swallowed hard, feeling a wave of helplessness wash over me.
“You’re looking the wrong way!”
Before I could react, Tsunade had already closed the distance. My eyes widened as her fist hurtled toward my chest.
Bang.
My body was pierced through, but there was no blood. Instead, a puff of smoke erupted as I transformed into a wooden log that clattered to the ground.
“A substitution, huh?” Tsunade smirked, turning to face me. “Your speed’s not bad.”
If I wasn’t fast enough, I’d probably be dead right now.
I swallowed nervously, forcing out, “Y-yeah, I guess…”
“Well then, I hope you can handle this next move too.” Tsunade grinned, lifting her right foot.
My eyes widened, and I immediately leaped backward.
Heavenly Foot of Pain!
The moment Tsunade’s foot touched the ground, it was like a mountain had fallen. A massive crack tore through the earth, racing toward me at a terrifying speed.
The ground exploded with rocks and debris, all hurtling toward me like cannonballs.
Boom. Boom. Boom.
Dust and smoke swallowed the entire battlefield.
When the dust settled, I was still standing, unscathed. My body crackled with arcs of lightning, forming a protective barrier around me like armor.
“Impressive defense,” Tsunade said, her tone filled with genuine admiration. “That’s your Lightning Style, huh?”
Her kick hadn’t been at full power, but it wasn’t something most people could block. Even Jonin would struggle against it, and yet I had managed to come out unscathed. My lightning technique must’ve been more refined than she expected.
“This is a variation of the Chidori,” I explained, my right hand resting on the hilt of my sword. “I’ve sacrificed some of its offensive power to enhance my physical defense.”
“Chidori? Did you invent that?” Tsunade asked, seeming oblivious to the fact that my hand was already at my sword.
“Sort of.” My expression turned serious, and a sharp, cutting aura radiated from my body. “Tsunade-sensei, I’m coming at you.”
Before I even finished speaking, the sound of my sword being drawn echoed across the battlefield.
In Tsunade’s eyes, a flash of deadly intent gleamed. Even she couldn’t help but widen her eyes, sensing the killing intent behind my strike.
What an incredible sword technique!
Tsunade’s expression grew more serious.
What had seemed like a casual spar moments ago suddenly shifted. That single slash carried an air of finality, as if it were meant to kill. It had surpassed her expectations. Up until now, she had been treating this as a playful exchange. But now, at this moment, she knew she had to get serious.
Without hesitation, Tsunade gathered chakra into her fist and threw a punch to meet the blade’s arc head-on.
