Reincarnated Maid is About To Be Captured by All Players

Volume 2 Chapter 2

Cleaning up the adventurers’ “Coordinate Marks” took quite a bit of time.

However, for the sake of protecting Anna and Lily, fatigue was a small price to pay.

Although moon elves don’t have the attribute of drawing energy from moonlight, they do possess more vitality at night than during the day.

“Another trap has been triggered?”

Just as Siegdrida was about to catch her breath, she received another trap signal.

Most of the traps Anna set were modified from animal traps based on her “Hunting” skill. They were non-lethal, as they couldn’t distinguish between adventurers and NPCs.

Another reason was that lethal traps would make a lot of noise, which would be conspicuous at night. They had finally found a relatively safe hideout and needed at least one good night’s sleep.

Siegdrida swiftly moved through the dense forest. For an elf, every tree, every flower, and every blade of grass guides them in the right direction.

She reached the location of the triggered trap as quickly as possible but found no signs of an intruder.

Was it accidentally triggered by a small animal? Siegdrida couldn’t afford to be careless and continued to search.

The triggered trap was a pitfall. Like a fishing rod tugged by a fish, it sent a signal when something was caught.

It didn’t take long for Siegdrida to find the person who triggered the trap.

It was a lone adventurer… who seemed to have used magic to escape the pit.

The key difference between adventurers and NPCs was that the former could learn magic. So Anna had set up a two-layer trap? If the prey escaped the trap, then it was most likely an adventurer.

However, the second-layer trap made Siegdrida frown.

Chains.

The adventurer had a chain wrapped around his neck, seemingly choked by it and fallen unconscious due to a “Lack of Oxygen” debuff. Not everyone can learn partial transparency on a whim.

Wasn’t the chain Anna’s weapon?

“I told her to get some rest…”

It wasn’t a trap; it was Anna’s active attack.

Siegdrida didn’t hesitate. She aimed for the adventurer’s throat and ended his life swiftly. Take your time respawning.

After quickly cleaning up the Coordinate Marks, Siegdrida confirmed there were no other intruders and went back to the adventurer’s corpse to remove the chains for Anna.

Weird… Did Anna go back to rest without collecting her weapon? Unlike her.

Siegdrida collected the chain, which was far longer than she had imagined. Where did Anna usually keep it?

Following the chain, she unknowingly reached their dwelling. The chain extended from the window of the cabin, probably totaling over a hundred meters.

However, what caught Siegdrida’s attention was not the length.

Anna… attacked the adventurer outside from her room?

How did she manage such precise targeting?

Confused, Siegdrida climbed in through the window and tiptoed to the bedside.

Anna and Lily were both sound asleep, showing no signs of recent activity.

The evidence was that Anna’s status had changed from “Severely Fatigued” to “Fatigued.” She was actually resting well.

So…

She killed that adventurer while sleeping?

Siegdrida felt an urge to flip a table.

—If Lifa wants me to rest, then I can guard while resting, right?

She could almost hear Anna’s response to her questioning. At this moment, all she wanted to say was: Are all maids in the human world monsters?! How can you sleep and keep watch at the same time?

I give up…

Feeling helpless, Siegdrida decided the best she could do was to resolve fights more quickly so as not to disturb Anna any further. She was about to place the chain beside Anna’s pillow when she noticed something off about Anna’s sleeping face.

Always composed, was she ever truly at ease, even in rest? She seemed perpetually on guard, as if ready for any emergency, but was genuinely recovering her strength.

Something felt off.

Was Anna uncomfortable?

Upon closer observation, something subtle yet undeniable was different.

After hesitating for a moment, Siegdrida quietly lifted Anna’s blanket.

The moment she did, the chain snapped onto her wrist with a “snap.”

“Lifa?”

She had woken Anna up. Despite just waking from sleep, there was no trace of tiredness in her voice. How did she rest? But that wasn’t important right now.

“Anna, you…”

A crimson flower of blood bloomed vividly on the bed, contrasting sharply against Anna’s pale skin.

Blood.
