Chapter 14: Arrived.
"Captain." The Quartermaster, explains everything that has happened to the handsome man. On how Levi created a fireball.
"What are you scared of? That man must be using some kind of trick like the shaman." The pirate captain has seen the barbarian shaman spit out fire from his mouth. After being tortured, it was revealed the shaman was using alcohol and fire.
"Attack!" The pirate captain gazes at the man with brunet or dark brown hair and an average face.
Levi doesn’t have enough energy to prolong the fight. It’s hard to restore the depleted mana energy here. He now regrets not learning the blood manipulation magic. If he learns it, he can absorb blood to restore his energy.
He took one of the corpses and leaped toward the crowd of pirates. His target is the pirate captain; to stop an army, you need to kill the general. In this case, the pirate captain.

The pirates run in fear because they have seen Levi decapitate and burn their comrade.

While the pirates are in disorder. Levi trusts his sword into the fleeing pirate's body. Blood spurted from the wound when he pulled out the sword. The pirates swung their swords and sabers at him. But Levi used the corpse as a shield. When the corpse shield is badly mutilated. He threw the corpse and took a new corpse to be used as a shield.
The merchant ship crews and passengers also continued their attack. If they lose, their fate is death.

The crew and passengers on the merchant ship couldn’t believe their eyes when the pirate ships retreated.

The rest also began to cheer. Levi feels something is not right, but it is not like he can pursue the pirate to ask questions.

"How is the captain's injury?" The quartermaster asked when he saw the doctor come out of the cabin.

The quartermaster nodded at his man. Seeing the signal, a few men follow the doctor through the passageway.
When they leave, the expression of the quartermaster changes from worry to sneer. Entering the cabin, the pirate captain's body is covered by a bandage and is lying on the bed.
"To think you are still alive, you are a tough one." He takes out his gun and aims it at the pirate captain's head. The Dragon Skull Pirates are strong, but how many people die because of this man's stupid rules?

The bullet pierces the pirate captain's head. Blood splattered on the bed.
Outside the cabin, there is a loud commotion. Because the pirates had already started fighting among themselves.
The quartermaster reloaded his gun and went out of the cabin. "I shall become the new captain."

Dolon Kingdom Palace. King Donovan can feel his body getting weaker and older. He can have anything in his life. There is one thing that he can’t buy, and that is time. He searched for a way to extend his life and become younger around the world. However, he failed, and the information that he gets is fake.
When King Donovan lost hope, he found an ancient book in an unknown language. After ordering scholars and researchers to translate the book, the title and content of the book are finally revealed: Vampirism.
That is the beginning of a nightmare for the Dolon Kingdom prisoner.
Underground chamber.
"Take out the corpses." A messy-haired man holding a knife is dissecting a hand with a knife. The mutilated human body parts are scattered on the table.
"Shit, you're supposed to dispose of the corpses before the smell becomes worse!" said the bald man. In the corner of the room, there are corpses inside a wooden barrel.
"If we don’t show any result, our body will be on this table!"
"Just give up, we don’t have a way to make the dead come alive."
"No, when the electricity enters the corpses, they begin to move."
"That is a muscle reaction after getting electrocuted. We have another problem: the corpses are rotting and can’t maintain the muscle mass."
"Other than electricity, the rest of the material doesn’t show any reaction."
"How about we do the experiment without putting the subject to sleep?"
"We have tried that before; it only makes things complicated."
"What about the other groups' results?"
"The same as us."
A skinny man wearing an executioner's mask enters the chamber.
"Why are you here?"
The executioner-mask man makes various signs using his hand.
"I understand you can bring the test subject."
"How can you understand that weird sign language?"
"I have worked with him before; he is a good man with a beautiful wife."
"That guy looks like an opium addict."
"He has been sick since he was young and doesn’t like to talk."
"Who is the wife?"
"The red-rose general."
"That beautiful general with a muscular body!"
"Yes."
"Most men almost die trying to seduce her."
"What I know is that he is running late for work and bumped into her. After that, she fell in love and got married."
"I think he lied to you."
"No, I have to go to their house for dinner."

Imperial study room. There is an elderly man with white hair and a middle-aged courtier.
"How is the progression?"
"Your majesty, there are still no results." The middle-aged courtier answered cautiously. Ever since the king got the book, many people have died.
"How is the search for shamans and sorcerers?"
"All of them are scammers."
“How about the test?”
"They don’t understand the book language. And the ones that pretend to understand have been sent to prison."
"Keep searching."
"Yes, your majesty." After that, the courtier left the room.
"Does that mean I am destined to die?" King Donovan looks at his wrinkled hand.

Dolon Kingdom port.
"Thank you; without your help, we will all be dead." The merchant captain gives Levi a bear hug.
After some pleasantries, Levi leaves the port and enters the town. The Dolon Kingdom is an island continent, and it will take him several days to arrive at the capital city from here. After asking around, he found out the next caravan going to the capital city is tomorrow.
"What to do now?" Levi begins to search for an inn to stay at.

Inside an inn diner area, Levi is eating while listening to other customers’ conversations.
"Have you heard the rumor?"
"What rumor?"
"The prisoners have been transferred to the capital city, even for minor offenses."
"Why?"
"I don’t know."
There are other similar stories and strange rumors going around. But it has nothing to do with him. Levi's mission is only to kill the king and get the reward.

Several days later, in Dolon Kingdom's capital city, Levi steps out of the caravan and sees many people and buildings. There are a lot of horse carriages on the stone-paved road. Trying to find the palace is not hard. However, he needs to find a place to rent and make a plan to infiltrate the palace.
"Excuse me, sir, do you want a city guide?" said a boy wearing messy clothes.
"Sure, how much?" Levi has no problem with money.
"No, it usually depends on the customer." What the boy said is true; even if he gets a few shillings, that is enough to buy bread.
"Okay, I'll give you one pound if you do a good job."
"Yes, I will." Said the boy excitedly. One pound is equivalent to twenty shillings. With it, he can have money to buy several loaves of bread. No, he can buy meat pie. "Where do you want to go?"
"Is there any inn where I can stay for a long time?"
"Yes, at Grandma Doris Inn."
"Show me this place before we go there."
"Do you want to walk or use a carriage?"
"Let’s walk first, and you can explain anything interesting here."
The boy's name is Frank, and he is living with his parents and three siblings. After walking for a long time. They decided to rest in one of the cafés and buy some food.
