Chapter 12: 12: Red Moon.
'I guess my whole journey in this world turned out to be pretty easy,' Selene thought as waves of pain constantly attacked her mind.
But the vision she'd had weeks ago had made her feel much worse, and although she couldn't help gritting her teeth as she felt her body melt away, it was manageable enough to think clearly.
'Okay, I've made my typical wounded hero or sealed villain threat, now what?' Selene mused as she tried to take steps forward, but the frenzied energy of the Boundary Ray had immobilized her.
Not for nothing, what she faced was not a 'righteous' power as one might think, but it was the greatest weapon the worlds and natural elements had to counter threats.
Yes, apparently, the elements had a certain 'consciousness', so to speak. While they were generally associated with magical concepts, any energy could connect with them to harness their power if it had enough affinity.
That was why the Limit Lightning was so powerful. It was the wrath of the Elements themselves, omnipresent and all-powerful, albeit limited by the worlds they were in. Selene knew that if this world was more advanced or if it was in a vacuum, it would be pure dross at this point.
The red energy in her body, Moonlight, seemed to automatically try to cover her body in defense, but the difference in power was simply colossal, each attempt to do so only depleted Selene's reserves while her body was damaged even more.
All she could do was control her cross and place it between her and the golden beam that fell from the sky like a chain, which only made her body take less damage, but her charred skin and the black smoke rising from it indicated the opposite.
If it weren't for the fact that the calcination of her skin prevented certain key parts from rebelling, she would feel a little embarrassed, and that was because her clothes had been completely torn to shreds, leaving her completely naked.
But even though she looked like a burnt piece of chicken, the strange charm of her being still appeared, probably even if she was turned into ashes, she would give birth to the 'most beautiful ashes', thus revealing a bit of her inhuman nature.
The pillar of pure light that covered her was more of a barrier as if to prevent the mammoth power of a level one limit ray from spreading, but it allowed her to see the outside completely.
Beyond, who had officially entered his second form, so to speak, noticed Selene's hateful gaze. Even though his eyelids were burned and his vision was blurred, the woman's crimson eyes never stopped watching him, but he didn't care.
Why should he care about an invading creature that was about to disappear? No, now he had to take care of all the problems Selene had caused, he had to put this world back on its original course, and most of all, he had to get rid of an inferior bloodsucker with an ability that was dangerous to this world, to any world.
"Dio Brando, your life had a clear purpose and you threw it away, even though it was a product of my past self-deception, but I must at least set things right that are wrong with you," Beyond's ethereal voice could be heard everywhere, as if it came from everywhere.
Dio, already healed from the wounds inflicted upon him, stood, fully alert to Beyond's possible actions. His instincts as a vampire told him to run, not fight, but he knew that if he tried to run, he would be far less likely to survive.
He was not a man of 'instinct' or a coward! He would fight, of course, he would, as he had done since he was born into this damned world, which, by the way, many of his past hardships were the product of the shining bastard before him.
"You think the others will just let you do whatever you want? Fuck you, you useless bastard!" after shouting his classic battle cry, his stand appeared behind him, holding a speck of light.
Pulling out the said object, Beyond took a step back, he did not know what it was, but the sense of familiarity was too high to ignore, and it caused him to feel an absurdly high sense of threat.
"My power allows me not only to devour the world to create my own or to see my destiny, do you know what that is?" without knowing why, Dio felt the need to speak, though the subtle smile on his face indicated that there was a purpose behind his words.
Beyond realized that this speck of light was a small piece of this world, at least on a conceptual level. Stands could have extremely strange abilities, and he, who had seen the future of this world, knew this more than anyone else.
After all, he had orchestrated the rise of certain 'Requiems' and it was he who had called himself 'Gravity' and lured Pucci to reboot the universe with Made in Heaven, but those plans had already been thrown into the dust by Selene, not that he cared about them in their current state.
"Do you have any idea how terrible your actions are? Cutting off pieces of this world so crudely only brings it closer to its destruction" Beyond was essentially the representation of the soul of this world, so his fear and reproach had a reason, but he was talking to fucking Dio Brando.
"If I could deny my humanity, I can deny this world, Beyond!" shouted Dio, before he sent the speck of light towards Beyond with incredible speed.
A small black hole formed in Beyond's left shoulder as he tried to dodge Dio's attack, but he was not fast enough. A smile appeared on Dio's crazed face, his fangs gleaming in the moonlight, and a laugh erupted from his throat.
"Just as I thought! Only 'Concepts' can touch you, right? Any normal attack bounces off me," Dio checked his shoulder, not noticing any kind of injury.
"You're annoying," spheres of light appeared around Beyond, transforming into various weapons, both past and future, all aimed directly at Dio.
"How unoriginal," muttered Selene, who had come up with a way out of her torture, or at least the craziest and most insane attempt she could think of.
After all, she was already a little crazy, why not sink even further into madness? Adding what Dio had said, he felt his plan was feasible. Since she was dressed as a nun, what if she prayed?
"Red Moon, you rise in the sky," Selene's voice was just a whisper that escaped from her teeth clenched by the intense pain in her body, having your skin covered by burns of who knows how many degrees was not something very comforting to say.
"Red Moon, you watch the world with fascination," her voice began to distort in this world, now the pain in her mind had overcome the physical, her blurred eyes seemed to clear, but she could no longer see the battlefield.
Selene began to hallucinate something she did not fully understand, hearing voices she could not decipher, and smelling a scent she had never smelled, but which brought back memories she did not possess. Feel the wet, warm touch of something on her skin that seemed thick and slimy.
"Red moon that delights in life," several voices came out of his body as if saying this sentence caused unforeseen changes in his being.
The voices belonged to a woman, her current voice, but also the voice of her past life, a voice she had never expected to hear again, but now it was present, accompanying her in the prayer she was dedicated to a being that perhaps should not be invoked, but it was necessary to do so.
What did it matter if her mind fragmented in the end, she didn't care! Beyond was a pseudo-god? Well, she would bring down the closest thing to God in her mind, the source of her lineage, the being that almost killed her weeks ago.
"Red Moon, I ask you to watch me this time," the two voices sharpened, reaching notes impossible for a human to reach, and her voice echoed in the strange illusory space she found herself in.
In front of Selene stood a battlefield littered with corpses, both human and unknown creatures. Cold weapons with strange lines appeared in her vision, others looked like weapons from the First World War, and some were a parade of advanced technology.
She saw what looked like robotic arms with bloody flames burning on them, armor emitting bloody steam, walking aimlessly through the piles of bodies soaked in a red, almost black liquid.
She was submerged up to her neck in this liquid and felt as if some curious beings were watching her from the depths. Airplanes with steampunk or high-tech touches exploded in the sky, multicolored crystals fell from the clouds, and strange energy covered this place.
It resonated somewhat with her own Moonlight energy, but they were of different natures, hers was more malleable and diverse, giving her interesting abilities, while the other energy seemed to be more wild, limited in its form of expression, but with a future as infinite as the one she possessed.
Shouts of battle could be heard in the distance, as well as the constant sound of explosions, but above all these things, this garbage, these piles of bodies, this blood flooding everything, there was a moon.
A red moon that seemed to be dripping with something indescribable, covered with lines, patterns, and circuits that made Selene's eyes bleed just looking at it. Worst of all, on top of such a thing was a woman, merged with the moon, huge in her being.
Selene could only dazzle this vision once before her eyes went blind, but the woman fused to the bloody moon was beautiful, far more beautiful than any carbon-based creature, an unreal beauty, but one that took your mind deep into the unsettling valley.
Naked, no matter how daring the sight of her voluptuous body, there was no mortal man or woman who could make her feel shame. Her hair, perhaps the only thing she had in common with Selene, was completely green and scattered over her body, covering nothing.
Stars seemed to glitter in her mane, but they were constantly moving, as if they wanted small animals, no, they were creatures, at least that's what Selene could interpret. The woman's blue, almost lifeless eyes looked directly at the creature that dared to summon her image.
With a quick scan, the giant woman knew why things had been like this. The girl before her had not only prayed for her but had also had the brilliant idea to curse the source of her bloodline, herself, to get her attention.
"Using a power derived from the pneuma to curse me, how crazy, I like it," the woman's voice echoed, causing everything to become still, even Selene stopped, her breathing, her synapses, her whole being froze.
"Seeing you up close, it was a good idea to experiment with these strange powers, the advantages of the pneuma were lost, except for its infinite changes, it is really good that the little shiny boy is pushing you," the woman showed her teeth if they were teeth at all.
Each one was perhaps as large as a skyscraper, completely red and with a metallic texture, they looked more like obelisks than teeth. Especially since they had energy circuits carved into them, or maybe they were ornamental details, one didn't know.
"But you can't rely on your 'mommy' all the time, you know, you have to fight your battles on your own! Oh? I see, how clever," as if something was responding to her constant dialog, the woman began to clap her hands as if she was pleased with her 'Lunar Sprout's' ideas.
"At first I thought it would be useless, then your existence appealed to me and I thought it would be good to pay some attention to you, but now I want to see how far you'll go. The Void? Just one more side of the Omniverse, let's see how much chaos you can create in it.

"Damn, now hangovers won't be an excuse in the future..." muttered Selene, who had come back to reality, so to speak, but no one took away the headache.
Her mind had new knowledge, though what she had access to was more of a way to complete the one she had before, as if before this experience she had only received fragments of the one she currently possessed.
"Well, I guess I won't have that option in my arsenal anymore, but it's good to have my methods, let's try this curse, it's excellent for the charred body I have now," Selene then sent energy to the Cursed Cross, unleashing her second real curse so far that day.
"Curse of Sacrifice and Pain: I return!" Selene's voice echoed throughout the place, similar to the effect caused by Beyond's words.
The walls of light around her shattered, all because of a black, viscous substance coming from Selene's naked body. Looking at it made one feel uncomfortable as if one's body suddenly felt the prick of a needle under one's fingernails.
The black mass began to scale the Limit Lightning as if it didn't care about the destructive effect of this power. Even as it disintegrated, the slime climbed up to the clouds, riddled with holes, but as if fulfilling its object, it exploded.
A red light illuminated the sky, and Beyond, who had created weapons of light around him, saw a completely naked Selene, without a scratch on her body, stalking weakly toward him, but carrying the cursed cross in her right hand, which she adjusted to fit.
"This wasn't my idea to start being an exhibitionist, but.... I will make you feel pain, much pain!"

AN: Okay, a little bit of lore and getting closer to the climax of this world. By the way, Red Moon Waifu is a character from my original novel, which is only mentioned in passing, because even though Reincarnation Paradise includes the "Void", there are other concepts that fit into the Omniverse.
If you want, you can read my original novel, it's in my profile, along with two other fanfics, one from Dragon Ball and one from Avatar.
By the way, Merry Christmas!
