Chapter 19: Killing rampage
"Alright Sean, let's go quickly. Also, If I ever jump off, don't stop for me and keep moving. I'll catch up later." Stated Merlin casually as his entourage of vehicles began moving northwards.
"Yes boss." By now, Sean had grown numb to the number of times his boss had done crazy things, and still survived. How could he die just by getting off the car.
"What! Where are you going now?!" screamed Alex's mother with shock and fear. She was already scared for Merlin's safety while he was outside the house during the start of the apocalypse. But now he wanted to leave once more? How could she let him.
But before she could say anything, Jon jumped off holding his trusted black bag, along with a waterproof long-distance radio and a torch, since the sun was yet to completely showcase its brilliance.
He turned to the right and left, ensuring that enough zombies were there. Merlin then took out two metal rods before using little strength to bang them together. The resulting sound was incredibly loud, resulting in a loud reverberating sound to echo through the entire street. This attracted all the zombies in the area and bringing them onto the street.
At this point, there were three people living inside a small apartment, with all entrances locked.
Btu their snack eating campaign was interrupted by an incredibly loud sound. Hearing this left the three in a daze for a moment, before they all rushed out, only to see a lone figure standing before a huge zombie wave in the distance to the south.
"Is he mad? What is he doing just standing there? Why isn't he running?"
"Maybe… he wants to fight them?" said the other man, hesitantly.
"Haha, then he is truly mad. Come on back guys. If he sees us, he might run over and ask us for help, dragging us down to hell along with him."
"Haha. That is definitely true. Who is he to challenge a zombie wave?"
"Hey! I thought we decided to call them zombie hordes?"
"We changed it. Now come back inside"
However, the three could only hear mournful cries of zombies, and no sounds of eating flesh, but only the sound of breaking bones and stiff metal.
"Haha, you don't think…"
"Definitely not, right…?"
But the seemingly unfaithful reassurance soon left the three men and they rushed to the window once more, only to see nothing but zombies, covering evert corner of the street, and more coming in.
Following the origins of the sounds, they saw a dark red figure flitting in and out of existence, leaving behind piles of zombies as it mowed its way north along the street. As the figure came closer, it became more clear, and the three soon realised that it wasn't a red figure, but a human covered in dark red, almost black blood, holding two heavily dented metal rods. But that didn't stop the figure from killing one zombies after another, as though it was running a hundred metre sprint. He was like the natural enemy of all zombies, who mindlessly ran towards the only thing nearby that made noise.
Within a few minutes, that figure had already passed through the entire kilometre street and was already out of their view. The only thing they could see was a huge mess of organs, blood, and rotten flesh littering the road, leaving no place for one to tread on.
However, while the three were in disbelief, Merlin was frowning.
