Chapter 11: Version 0.2
How was Christmas for all of you guys?
----------------
Li Tianhuan leaned against a sturdy tree, catching his breath after the exhausting battle. The forest had fallen silent, the chaos from moments ago now a distant memory. He reached into his robe and pulled out a handful of primeval essence stones, their faint blue glow illuminating his weary face.
Sitting cross-legged on the damp forest floor, he focused inward, directing his attention to his aperture. The green copper essence within had dwindled significantly, its once steady flow now reduced to faint ripples. Holding a primeval essence stone firmly, he guided its energy into his aperture, watching as the stone dimmed gradually.
The restorative energy surged through him, filling his aperture with fresh green copper essence. One by one, he absorbed the stones, replenishing his primeval essence until the flow within his aperture returned to its full capacity. The process was meticulous but familiar, and by the time he was finished, he felt a renewed vigor coursing through him.
"That should do it," Li Tianhuan muttered, brushing the dirt from his hands. He stood up and dusted off his robes.
"System," he said calmly, "open Gacha."
The system screen flickered momentarily before displaying a message: Updating to Version 0.2. Please wait...
Li Tianhuan frowned, his brows furrowing. "System, what's the purpose of this update?" he asked, his voice edged with curiosity.
There was no response. The red screen remained still, save for the faint message indicating the ongoing update. Minutes passed, the silence pressing on his patience.
Finally, the system flickered back to life, the update completed. A new message appeared:
System Version 0.2 update completed.
"Every time Host's rank increases, the system will also update," the system intoned in its familiar mechanical tone. "As a version update gift, Host will receive one free pull."
The screen shimmered and transitioned to the home screen. The interface was sleek, its vibrant icons glowing softly against a dark, polished backdrop. Four primary options were displayed prominently:
The first option, labeled Status Screen, was represented by the image of a humanoid figure encircled by swirling light.
The second option, Inventory, showed a stylized chest overflowing with treasures, symbolizing the secure storage of Gu worms, resources, and other valuables Li Tianhuan had accumulated.
The third icon, Points Store, gleamed with the image of a golden coin surrounded by an ethereal aura.
The final option, Gacha Store, was marked by a spinning wheel adorned with streaks of gold and red, emanating an alluring aura.
"Before it wasn't like this, only at 0.1 it changed like this I don't know how other updates will be."
Li Tianhuan's gaze lingered briefly on the options before he tapped on the Gacha Store icon. The interface transformed instantly, revealing a new screen dominated by a vibrant banner. The banner showcased an array of Gu worms and beasts, their forms rendered in intricate detail.
At the center of the screen, the "MULTI-PULL" button glowed brightly, its pulsating energy drawing Li Tianhuan's attention. Above it, a counter displayed his available KP, which is 100, accompanied by a bold text that read: 1 Gacha Ticket.
Li Tianhuan pressed the "MULTI-PULL" button decisively, anticipation gleaming in his grey eyes. However, the screen flickered, and a new message appeared: Insufficient KP. Multi-Pull requires 200 KP or equivalent SP.
"What?" Li Tianhuan muttered, his brow furrowing. "I need 100 more KP or SP to proceed?" He let out a sigh, "is this due to update, system."
Yes, Host as I told previously as you get stronger the pulls will need more points too.
Li Tianhuan muttered to himself, "It's still not afternoon, so I have enough time. I'll grind until nightfall and accumulate the extra KP I need. Once I'm done, I'll head home and finally pull the Gacha."
He ventured deeper into the forest, his Sharingan active, scanning the surroundings for potential targets. Over the course of the afternoon, he encountered numerous wild beasts—rabbits, foxes, and even a couple of wolves. He used Sharingan to it's full and won all the fights easily.
As the hours passed, Li Tianhuan tallied his progress. The smaller creatures yielded fewer points, but their numbers added up quickly. The wolves provided a greater reward, their ferocity matched by the challenge they presented. By late afternoon, he had accumulated an additional over 500 KP.
Feeling the strain of constant battles, Li Tianhuan paused to restore his primeval essence with the remaining stones in his pouch. After regaining his strength, he pushed onward, determined to reach his goal. His final encounter of the day came in the form of a wild horned boar, slightly larger than the ones he had faced earlier. The fight was intense, but his strategic use of illusions and precise strikes allowed him to bring the beast down.
When the boar fell, Li Tianhuan checked his total KP. "That makes 720 total," he said with a satisfied smirk. "More than enough for one multi-pull. Let's head back."
With that, Li Tianhuan began the journey back to the clan. The journey was uneventful but gave him time to reflect on his hunt and the KP he had accumulated. When he approached the village gates, the guards glanced at him with approval but did not stop him, as he went into the clan.
Li Tianhuan entered his home just as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the room. Turning his attention to the system, he prepared to finally spend the KP he had earned for the multi-pull.
