Chapter 86: Little Bunny
"It's beautiful isn't it?"
Arrora asked while standing behind Don overlooking the settlements in Everlight.
The dwarves built every building using their best craftsmanship.
The buildings were a mix of different styles, there were wooden houses, houses built with some kind of white stones, and brick houses. Streets between the buildings paved with dark brownstones and each side of the pavement were beautiful flowery plans decorated the streets with their natural charm.
People on the streets had little worries on their faces as everyone passed each other with happy greetings.
The dwarves mostly kept working on the buildings and the elven women were watering the plants along the streets while some demi-human men and women helped dwarves in their construction works. The settlement in Everlight had now taken the shape towards being a small town.
Even though the buildings and the dwarf made pavements had a certain charm, the real beauty of the settlement was the green grassland and the river running around the land. Since the weather was great in Everlight, the farmlands of grain crops looked like it was covered with a golden blanket. Demi-humans along with humans had already started to cut the golden grains while singing songs to ease their exhaustion.
Unlike the smiling faces of the crop cutters, the men and women training on the riverbank resembled a failing crop as Don could see many of them seemed like they would die any minute.
"Knight let them rest for a moment" Don descended on the training ground with Arrora.
The trainees looked Don with pleading eyes even the normally har working demi-humans were not an exception to this.
"Oh come on! We are having fun aren't we?" Knight said the trainees would have coughed up blood if it weren't for them being exhausted.
Don didn't say anything but stared at Knight
"Alright, I'll give them a break. A good one at that" as Knight said he spread his wings and flapped, the force of his wings flapping sent all the trainees into the river nearby. Seeing the shocked faces of the trainees, Knight grinned playfully at them.
"You are such a douchebag " Arrora said but giggled at the scene.
"Whatever, how's your training going?"
"I've been training them just like this book says" a black book with red linings appeared on her hands. The book had 'Shadow Ghost ' written in fine calligraphy on the front.
"Keep training them and we have the finest assassins in the whole world"
Arrora knew the effects of this book as she was able to get into the Minister's house without alerting a soul and assassinate him.
Unlike Arrora some of her team members alerted the guards but luckily they were capable enough to kill them before sounding the alarms. Till then Arrora kept training her team to make them as Everlight's finest.
"Speaking of assassins, I still couldn't believe we conned the nobles in Emir with water"
After the coronation ceremony, many nobles met with Don and sworn their loyalty to him and asked for the antidote for the poison which they drank the night before or they thought.
Don kept his words and gave them the vials containing a colorless, odorless liquid to them which turned out to be just water when Arrora asked Knight about the poison and the antidote.
"Well, the water did the job just as any poisons would have"
"Brother Joel is waiting for you in the throne hall" while reminiscing about the events that happened in the Emir, Catalie's projection appeared before them. Compared to the little cute Don met when he first stepped into this realm, Catalie now looked like an eleven or twelve years old girl. Don had no idea how she was able to grow or age but he guessed she could grow as the Everlight develops.
"Let's go," Don said and started to fly towards the castle with Arrora and Knight following.
Entering into the throne hall, Don saw Joel standing in the middle with a group of people behind him wearing various disguises like merchants, noblemen, dancers, soldiers, and so on.
Your majesty" after conquering Emir, Joel started to call Don as 'Your Majesty' instead of 'My lord' which Don didn't object to.
Don nodded and signaled them to stand up from their one knee as he sat on his throne overlooking them.
"Are they ready?" Don asked Joel.
"Absolutely your majesty, and also as spies they need to be put into the fields to complete their training your majesty"
"You are right," Knight agreed with Joel as did Don.
"Send them to the small kingdoms first, I want to know everything that's happening out there" Don turned his gaze from Joel to the men and women standing behind Joel.
"You will be only teleported to Everlight in the case of you are a step away from death, otherwise you should only rely on yourself. Understand?"
"Yes, your majesty" the spies placed their hands on their chests and said at the same time.
"Good luck" Don dismissed them as they started to walk towards the teleportation array room leaving behind Joel.
"Your majesty, Warren send this to you " Joel took out a scroll as the scroll floated towards Don and landed on his hand.
The contents of the scroll were written in beautiful calligraphy indicating that it's Loren that wrote this.
After a few moments, Don closed the scroll and rubbed his chin.
"Any problems Don?" Arrora asked.
"Its seems the princess of Korrinth is looking for me"
"Well, Gael shouldn't have eaten her pigeon" Knight laughed when he remembered Gael asked his cook to fry the pigeon when he was acting as King Hedor.
"No, it's not about the pigeon Knight, she wouldn't have fled the country for just a pigeon would she?"
"Is that scroll says why?" Don heard Arrora's voice behind him and shook his head a little.
"Are you going, Don? It could be a trap" Knight grabbed the scroll from Don's hand and started to read it himself.
"Do you know anything about this Joel?"
Hearing Arrora's question, Joel shook his head
"No, my lady. I was contacted by Warren while I was training my men and when I met him outside of his castle, he asked me to bring this to you as soon as possible and also it was sealed so I didn't dare to open it"
"Go to Emir and tell Warren that I send you to meet the princess. Arrora send one of your men with Joel"
Arrora nodded and ordered her men to come to the throne hall through Khal.
"Yes, your majesty" Joel nodded and waited for Arrora's men to come. While waiting, Joel saw a cute girl entering the throne hall. She was a bit shorter than him and wore flexible black leather armor and two bunny ears above her head. As she was getting closer, Warren realized that she was the scared bunny girl who was rescued by Arrora just like him.
"Your majesty, your majesty, lady Arrora" the bunny girl greeted the three of them with a noble curtsy bending her hip and lowering her head. The demihuman girl standing beside Joel was extremely pretty and cute at the same time. She had neither Amaryll's elven beauty nor Arrora's charming beauty but she was beautiful in her own way.
Joel could see she is going to make men's hearts beat faster and women become jealous of her beauty when they reach Emir.
"Don, Knight meet Glacia, one of my best " Arrora introduced the bunny girl.
"Catch it" Joel heard Knight's voice and before he could realize what he meant, Glacia was standing beside him but she had a steel blade in her hand that was aiming its pointy end towards the center of her eyebrows. The blade was just an inch away from penetrating her head and Joel couldn't believe Knight would actually test her like this.
Regardless of Knight's life-threatening testing, Glacia seemed relaxed. Unlike Joel who couldn't see what just happened, Don saw everything in slow motion. Glacia was aware of the blade from the moment Knight threw that at her which means she was very well trained and had very good reflexes. In case she wasn't able to catch the blade, the blade would have turned into ash by Knight in the last moment before it reached her.
"Good, I assume you've reached the great master realm " the apex was extremely effective in the earlier stages of life energy cultivation according to Ken and Benedict. With the life energy reemerging to the world as the Dragon King said, everyone's cultivation level in the magical world sped up and unlike before even someone with mediocre talent could reach higher levels of life energy cultivation.
"Yes, your majesty" Joel heard Glacia's gentle voice.
"Glacia, accompany Joel to Emir. Monitor any suspicious activities and report to me every hour"
"Yes, lady Arora. I will do as you say, do I have permission to kill if required lady Arrora?" Joel had a cold chill running through his spines when he saw the innocent looking cute bunny asking such a question without any hesitation. She was a scared little girl when Joel first met her but now she was turned into a trained killer for better or worse.
When he was looking at Glacia, Joel couldn't but think that if this little bunny is a great master, what level is Don and Knight now?
