Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Chapter 18 The Divide Within(2)
"Fugaku, you traitor!"
"Fugaku, You Bitch!!
The accusation echoed through the courtyard of the Uchiha compound, voiced by a majority of Uchiha clansmen and ninjas.
Fingers were pointed at Fugaku, accompanied by vehement curses and accusations. In the face of this onslaught from his own kin, Fugaku lowered his head in shame.
Sasuke, Fugaku's youngest son, was not present during this tumultuous moment, yet his name was invoked by Danzo, adding fuel to the fire of accusations.
Amid the chaos, Fugaku stood torn between his loyalty to his family and the pressing demands of the clan.
Fugaku's faction of clansmen, aligned with Konoha and loyal to him, now turned their anger towards Kaito and his supporters. They hurled insults and accusations at them, branding them as traitors willing to sacrifice their own for personal gain.
These individuals, either Fugaku's allies or deeply connected with Konoha, naturally leaned towards believing Fugaku and Danzo's lies.
Obito, watching from a distance, couldn't help but feel a pang of disdain. The scene mirrored his own experiences with betrayal within the Uchiha clan. However, he noted a crucial distinction: 40% of the Uchiha tribe had chosen to support Kaito, believing in a different path.
"Some people are willing to compromise for a false sense of peace, even at the cost of their honour and freedom!"
Obito muttered under his breath, his gaze fixed on the unfolding drama.
"While others abandon all principles for personal gain. I will be the saviour of this accursed world, the only path to save the shinobi world is through the Infinite Tsukuyomi! I will forge a new era!"
The tension escalated until Kaito took action, controlling Susanoo and slashing violently, causing a massive explosion that abruptly halted the quarrelling parties. He cast a cold look at Fugaku, but his resolve remained undaunted. Kaito's focus was solely on those connected to him; those who chose to align against him would face the consequences of their choices.
"If they choose to believe in Danzo, let them," Kaito spoke nonchalantly. "I'll get you out of here, and they can face the consequences of their choices."
But Danzo wasn't ready to let the situation unfold without interference.
"Kaito, do you think that by leading this group against Konoha, you can leave the village unscathed?!"
Danzo's voice cut through the tension, momentarily breaking the standoff.
The arrival of the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, and Fugaku's tentative compromise had emboldened Danzo, who initially felt nervous. The presence of a formidable team of five kage-level ninja, including the distant figure of "Uchiha Madara," gave him newfound confidence.
"The mouth of this bastard is running too freely!" Danzo thought, but his train of thought was interrupted by a sudden excruciating pain in his right eye.
Danzo's senses returned just in time to see Kaito standing before him. Before Danzo could react, Kaito pierced his heart with a sword, causing Danzo to experience another wave of excruciating pain. Almost instantaneously, Kaito closed the gap between them, dispelling Susanoo in front of the observers' eyes.
"Time and space ninjutsu?!" Hiruzen exclaimed, surprised by Kaito's sudden movement. Kaito swiftly cut the bandage off Danzo's right eye and stabbed him in the chest before he could utter a word.
"Danzo!" Hiruzen yelled, throwing a few shurikens at Kaito in an attempt to force him to release Danzo. But Kaito effortlessly deflected them with his Mangekyo Sharingan.
Ignoring Danzo's anguished glare, Kaito continued with a hint of regret in his voice. "I would have severed your arm if I had known sooner!" Retrieving a prepared medicine bottle, he placed Shisui's right eye, taken from Danzo, into it.
"You!" Danzo glared at Kaito, realizing the value of what he had lost - a rare treasure in the ninja world. Ignoring Danzo's anger, Kaito continued.
"I see you have six eyes on your right arm. That means you can use Izanagi six times, and with your talent, each use grants you one minute of invincibility, totalling six minutes! Truly pathetic!"
As he spoke, Kaito appeared behind Danzo once more, and another sword stabbed into his chest. Danzo fell to the ground in agony, only to reappear moments later in another location.
The onlookers, unfamiliar with Izanagi, were shocked by Danzo's ability to resurrect almost in an immortal state. "Is this the power of the Uchiha's Mangekyo Sharingan? Truly an enviable family," Hiruzen remarked, shifting his attention from Danzo's invincibility to Kaito.
Considering the situation strategically, Hiruzen realized that dealing with Kaito and his time-space abilities was crucial, especially with no one in Konoha capable of countering him.
Attempting to defuse the situation, Hiruzen shouted to Kaito, "Kaito, there must be some misunderstanding here. Let's sit down and talk instead of continuing to fight and implicating your innocent clansmen."
"Misunderstand?" Kaito sneered, his anger palpable. "Do you think I'm stupid? I know all about your conspiracy with Danzo and your collusion with Itachi."
Hiruzen's eyes widened with realization, a smile creeping onto his face. "Kaito, you've truly misunderstood. Why don't we sit down and talk rather than continue to fight and implicate your innocent clansmen?"
Kaito burst into laughter, his voice low and dangerous. "Are you threatening me?"
"No, no, no," Hiruzen waved his hand hastily, adopting a sympathetic expression. "I just don't want to see innocent people implicated. After all, you are all part of Konoha and my family."
Kaito's laughter echoed through the courtyard. "Family? You talk to me about family?" His smile faded into a cold, indifferent expression. "Then let's discuss how seriously you treat your 'family,' Sarutobi Hiruzen."
"Do you still remember Tobirama?" Kaito's voice was suddenly calm. Hiruzen frowned, his voice cold. "He was my teacher, the second leader of Konoha, known as the Hokage. Of course, I know who he is!"
"Yes, yes," Kaito nodded, his tone changing to coldness. "I just don't know if you'll have the face to meet your teacher after you die."
Hiruzen grew uneasy. "What do you mean?"
Kaito sneered, slowly revealing a secret. "At the beginning, the Senju family and my Uchiha family co-founded Konoha. After more than ten years of development, Senju Tobirama took over as the second Hokage of Konoha."
"In order to prevent the position of Hokage from becoming exclusive to the Senju family and to preserve the bloodline of the Senju family, he decided to dissolve the Senju family, remove the surname, erase the identity, and integrate the clan into the entire Konoha."
"Nevertheless, he left dozens of people in his direct line to maintain the name of Senju!"
"And when Sarutobi Hiruzen ascended to the top, he remained in the position of Hokage with the support of the late first Hokage's widow, Uzumaki Mito!"
"But when Uzumaki Mito died, your true ambitions were no longer concealed!"
"During Ninja War II, you continued to assign various arduous tasks to the few remaining immediate families, all of whom were sacrificed on the battlefield!"
"You even didn't spare your disciple Tsunade's younger brother. Now that Tsunade has left the village, it's more or less confirmed."
"You...you...you!" Kaito's voice remained calm, some of his statements recorded by the Uchiha clan, while others were speculative.
Regardless of their authenticity, he had successfully sowed doubt in the minds of those present.
While the onlookers were Anbu, not the village's roots, they were geniuses from major families or commoners.
Kaito maintained a calm expression. Some of his statements were recorded by the Uchiha clan, while others were speculative.
Regardless of their authenticity, he had successfully sowed doubt in the minds of those present. Although the onlookers were Anbu, not the village's roots, they were geniuses from major families or commoners.
While this might not be enough to be fatal, it was sufficient to create discomfort and uncertainty for Third power.
