Chapter 1: The Young Boy
Ice cold…
Trembling...
"Why the hell are you trembling? This is a joke from the last era..."
Along with the sound of muttering, the young man raised his hand and rubbed the head that was still faintly stinging. Then, he grinned and whispered 'Ha~' while sitting up.
"Friend, are you awake?"
The sudden question caused the young boy to regain his senses and subconsciously look around.
This was a sealed metal cabin. Its structure was like a small strategic transport plane. There was a row of seats on both sides of the warehouse walls. Four stretchers were placed on the aisle in the middle, and the young boy occupied one of them.
The cabin was very empty, and apart from the young boy, there was only the person who spoke.
"How are you? Are you okay?"
It was still the same question from the man just now, which made the teenager pause his observation and look towards the direction of the voice.
"Fortunately, I am used to it." The boy responded and smiled politely at the western man with brown hair and blue eyes. Then he got up from the stretcher and stepped on an empty chair.
Boom -
Before the young boy could sit still, an explosion suddenly sounded, causing the transport cabin to shake violently. The young boy quickly grabbed the seat belt and turned to look out through the observation window.
There was an intense battle outside the observation window.
On one side was a small -- medium-sized flying device on the side of technology, and on the other side were monsters of different shapes. They either flew or suddenly jumped out from the forest and the mountain wall, pouncing on the flying device in the air.
After understanding the situation, the teenager turned around and asked the western man who also looked out through the observation window, "So, we are retreating?"
The western man nodded and withdrew his gaze from the observation window. He turned back and said with slight regret, "Yes, the seventeenth establishment of the outpost failed."
"As expected of the difficulty of hell." The young man sighed with emotion and then raised his right hand to draw a circle in the air in front of him and read, "Mission log."
Without a sound, a virtual screen of half a meter appeared out of thin air.
Looking at the record on the mission log, the young man sighed softly and then slid his hand, turning the screen to his personal information column.
"Eh?" The western man was obviously paying attention to the virtual screen in front of the young man. He could not help but ask in surprise, "Your military rank is actually first lieutenant?"
"Yes..." The young man shrugged and said helplessly, "Because of the continuous failures of the mission of 'establishment of a no. 107 outpost', my rank dropped from major to the current first lieutenant."
"Then you are really unlucky." The western man sighed. "The promotion is slow, but the fall is fast."
Seeing the young boy's expression of approval, the western man could not help but complain, "Originally, I wanted to use this mission of 'to establish an outpost' to advance to second lieutenant, but in the end..."
"Is it alright to advance to captain?" The young man heard this and said, "The comprehensive evaluation states that there are enough kills. It is not difficult to be promoted to second lieutenant."
Bang -
A loud noise caused the transport cabin to shake again. The two of them turned to look out the window, only to see a flying monster about three meters tall and seven meters long crashing over.
The two of them no longer paid attention to it and turned back, not afraid that the monster would crash into the troop carrier.
The western man changed the topic again and said in a slightly depressed tone, "My major is 'Warcraft', which all relies on hand-to-hand combat. As for the 'Body Combat Technique' and 'Gun Fighting', their levels are not high, so the points for killing enemies have never been able to increase. What about you?"
"I'm alright." The young man smiled politely, and his eyes quickly swept over the three evaluations of 'Master' on the virtual interface. He then silently closed it and canceled it.
"Oh, by the way, Rex Nagia." The western man introduced himself.
"Kun." The teenager responded politely and reached out to shake hands with the other person.
"Quinn(Queen)?" Rex Nagia was slightly stunned.
"It's not Queen. It's Kun." The teenager corrected him helplessly.
"The Queen." Lex Najiya repeated in a slightly awkward pronunciation.
"Kun..." The teenager was even more helpless, and he corrected him in Chinese, "K-N Kun."
"Oh," Rex Nagia looked like he had just realized something.
"Coven Quinn!" Rex Nagia said boldly, "Just call me Nagi."
"..."
After hesitating a little, Kun finally surrendered helplessly. He muttered, "Whatever, whatever. Anyway, no matter how I correct it, you Westerners won't call me by my name..."
Almost as soon as Kun's whisper fell, Rex Nagia's cheerful voice immediately sounded, "I guess the elders in your family must like our western witch culture very much!"
Kun teenager's smile was very stiff. As he listened, he bit his lips and muttered, "Every Westerner who knows my name..."
Rex Nagia did not notice the young boy's muttering and continued to chatter excitedly, "Look!" 'Coven' means witch, but we usually just use witch for a single witch. So, 'Coven' is what we are referring to the witch group..."
"Yes, yes, the witch group..." The young boy continued to grit his teeth.
"And your surname is Queen." Rex Nagia seemed to be getting more and more excited. "So the meaning of your name is the Queen of the Witch Group? Or the Queen of the Witch! Oh, sorry, maybe I shouldn't say that, but I suggest you change the name of a male wizard..."
Boom -
The sudden explosion finally saved Kun. He immediately turned to look at the fireworks outside the window and thanked the monsters in his heart...
More than ten minutes later, the transport ship landed on a huge technological base. The young boy, Kun, managed to get rid of the chatterbox, Rex Nagia, before entering the barrack. He quickly called out the virtual panel by drawing a circle with his hand and then logged out the options.
His line of sight quickly turned dark…
A few seconds later, his body felt a change, and his five senses returned to normal.
"Activate," Kun ordered softly with a tired tone.
His vision gradually brightened, and then the young man sat up from an egg-shaped metal warehouse. He stared blankly for a moment and walked out of the metal warehouse.
As he walked out of the room, Kun opened his mouth and called out, "Butler."
"What orders does Young Master Kun have?"
Without a sound, a one-meter-wide virtual screen appeared beside the youth. As the young boy moved, a questioning voice came from the 'virtual panda image' on the screen.
Kun heard this and asked, "How much time has passed? I was too anxious when I logged out of the game and didn't have time to watch."
"Young Master, your game time this time is three hours and twenty-five minutes." The AI butler who looked like a virtual panda replied.
"Oh, got it." The teenager came to the bathroom and then asked while washing his hands, "Is there any new contact information on my communication software?"
"Master sent a message half an hour ago, saying that he would come back to cook at night and told the young master not to order takeaway food outside." The AI butler replied.
"Is that so? Then I will have a good meal today." Young Master Kun laughed, then raised a splash and washed his face...
