RV Survival: I have a 100x amplification system

Chapter 5: The Fierce Beasts of the Night

As darkness fell, those experiencing their first night in this world found themselves increasingly restless.

The global chat channel exploded with activity. Everyone was terrified of what might happen during their first night in this unfamiliar place, where everything was an enigma.

Unlike the world they had known, the days here were far shorter, lasting only five to six hours compared to the usual 12 hours of daylight back home.

In this world, as night descended, the chat channel became the sole outlet for venting emotions.

---

["What's happening? It's getting dark already?"

"Oh no, this is way too fast! Back in our old world, it'd still be noon!"

"Daylight here only lasts five hours?"

"I never would've thought the days would be so short here. I was chopping wood on a mountain, but now I have to rush back. I couldn't even bring all the firewood home—looks like I'll freeze tonight."

"I was fishing in the river. The fish here are so lively, jumping everywhere. After all this time, I only caught one, and now it's getting dark. Guess I'll have to eat raw fish tonight."

"I'm doomed. I've been digging for resources for hours without finding anything. Am I going to starve to death?"

"I shouldn't have chased that flock of sheep. I ran for hours, exhausted myself, and caught nothing."

"My situation is worse! I landed in a desert, tried digging with a hoe, then my bare hands, and found nothing. I'm dying of thirst here."

"Can anyone shelter me? There's only 30 minutes left until nightfall. I wandered too far and can't make it back in time. If no one helps me, I might get killed by wild beasts."

"Don't worry, bro. I checked, and you're only a few hundred meters from me. If you can get here, I'll let you in—as long as you have something to trade."

"Be careful, though. Don't let strangers into your RV easily. They might steal your food or even threaten you. Worst case, they could be cannibals disguised as humans—they might eat your brains."]

---

Amid the heated discussions, a kind-hearted person posted a critical reminder:

["Have you all read the Survival Manual for the RV World? It clearly outlines daily weather and daylight duration. I suggest you take it seriously, or you might get killed by merciless beasts. Nightfall is just 20 minutes away—everyone should retreat to their RVs immediately."]

As this message spread, the tone in the chat shifted. Complaints and wails diminished as people realized the gravity of the situation.

---

["The message above is right. Since we're in this world now, we should abide by its rules and carefully understand how to survive here."

"I agree. There's no point in dwelling on negativity."

Positive energy seemed to surge across the chat. More people embraced the mindset that they could survive and thrive here.

[Countdown to Nightfall

A familiar image appeared on the projection screen.

[Congratulations on surviving your first day in this world. How did you fare? The coming night will be even more terrifying. I hope you all make it through. Good luck!]

---

Su Chen was naturally apprehensive about his first night. He locked his RV doors and windows tightly, ensuring no unknown creatures could invade.

Looking outside, he saw dense clouds enveloping the sky. Night had fully arrived.

A haunting lullaby began echoing through the air. Insects and crows produced unsettling sounds, and it felt like eyes from unseen corners were fixated on him.

Beasts and unidentified creatures howled and roared relentlessly. The cacophony was unpredictable—at times deafeningly clear, at other times eerily silent.

Su Chen felt the oppressive darkness weighing on his mind but managed to stay composed.

"How can anyone sleep like this?"

Fortunately, Su Chen believed his RV was secure. Built with steel plates and high-grade iron, it seemed reliable for fending off initial monster incursions.

Still, he knew that if a particularly powerful beast found him, there would be no escape—only luck could save him.

---

Rather than dwelling on the chaos outside, Su Chen turned his thoughts to tomorrow's plans.

Inside the RV, illuminated by a single lamp, he was alone with his thoughts.

The night was long, the world outside bleak and desolate. Amid this loneliness, people adapted—some worked hard for survival, while others treated this as a fleeting dream, believing they'd return to their original world. Many passed time chatting in the global channel.

Yet, they all held onto hope for a brighter future.

Even though life here was lonely, exhausting, and fraught with hunger, enduring it was the only choice.

Adding friends and forming groups gave people a sense of solidarity—it was no longer a solitary battle but a collective fight for survival.

---

Su Chen's stomach growled. Checking his supplies, he found a slice of leftover hotpot meat.

He took out an alcohol lamp, cooked the meat, and enjoyed it as a late-night snack.

"Delicious. In times like these, having a midnight snack feels like a luxury."

Humming a tune, Su Chen savored the meat, his solitude momentarily lifted. Afterward, he quickly fell asleep, exhausted from the day's events.

Despite the grim night, it wasn't as unbearable as he had feared.

When he awoke, dawn was near.

Checking the clock, he saw 15 minutes left until daylight. Stretching, he resolved not to waste the morning.

After yesterday's ordeal, Su Chen was more disciplined than ever. He wouldn't allow himself the luxury of lazing around.

Most importantly, he had devised a solid plan—today, he would drive out in search of a better location.
