Chapter 7: Socially Averse Warming Up in Groups
【Just a bunch of Class D rejects. On the very first day, many are already not taking class seriously.】
【Enjoy it while you can!】
【In a month, you’ll see what real hell is like.】
Saiki Kusuo looked up at Chabashira Sae, who was teaching. Despite appearing indifferent, she was clearly aware of every student’s actions under her watch.
Chabashira wasn’t planning to tell the students about the school rules, letting them fall into decay.
‘Each class starts with 1,000 points, and students receive 100 times the class points each month.’
‘Being late, playing with phones, sleeping in class… these actions are recorded and result in point deductions.’
‘It seems some points have already been deducted.’
Saiki Kusuo was aware of the school’s rules. While he was interested in the school’s desserts, he didn’t plan to use his powers excessively to interfere with others’ activities.
Nevertheless, Saiki Kusuo wasn’t going to let himself lose points due to others’ actions.
As the bell rang, Chabashira left the classroom quickly, seemingly unwilling to stay a second longer.
“The next class is PE! Really curious about what PE is like here.”
“The schedule says our first PE class is swimming! Wonder what the school’s pool is like. Also, does the school provide our swimsuits?”
The students were abuzz with curiosity and anticipation for PE.
‘Swimming, better than other sports.’
Saiki Kusuo breathed a sigh of relief. Swimming was more manageable than sports like baseball, where controlling his strength would be a challenge.
【It might seem odd if I go to the changing room alone. I’ll find someone who seems as socially averse as me.】
As Saiki Kusuo prepared to head to the changing room, he heard a familiar voice behind him.
He quickened his pace, hoping to avoid being chosen as a target.
But after taking only a step, a somewhat lazy familiar voice came from behind.
“Saiki, shall we go to the changing room together?”
The speaker was Ayanokoji Kiyotaka.
【Saiki Kusuo doesn’t seem to interact much with others. He’s also quiet in the group chat. Seems like he’s not fond of social interactions.】
【He went to Horikita yesterday to talk about Kushida. Clearly, it wasn’t his own idea but a request from Kushida. I have to admit, Kushida is quite capable in this aspect.】
【Though I don’t want too much attention, maintaining a minimal level of social interaction is necessary to avoid being seen as an oddball.】
Ayanokouji’s thoughts were incessantly loud. Saiki Kusuo had never encountered someone with so much mental activity.
Nonetheless, Ayanokouji’s reasoning wasn’t wrong. Not maintaining basic social interactions could make one more ‘noticeable.’ Being labeled an oddball would be troublesome.
It was convenient that Ayanokouji’s personality resembled his own, and he also seemed to be hiding something, striving to minimize his presence in the class. This aligned with Saiki Kusuo’s intentions.
Saiki Kusuo’s gaze fell upon Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, and his x-ray vision automatically activated. He could clearly see the muscle fibers on the other’s body.
‘The physical condition clearly indicates extensive training. For a high school student, such a physique seems a bit exaggerated. It must be related to the White Room he mentioned earlier.’
Ayanokoji Kiyotaka wanted to hide himself, but he would never have imagined that Saiki Kusuo, upon seeing him for the first time, had already figured out his background.
With Saiki’s abilities, he could easily delve deeper into the White Room, but he was not interested.
Perhaps Ayanokoji Kiyotaka was a bit special compared to others, but he was still only on the level of ordinary humans. Instead, his seemingly conflict-free character was more compatible with Saiki’s own.
“Alright.”
Saiki nodded and then accompanied Ayanokoji to the changing room. They changed into their swimsuits and headed to the swimming pool for their physical education class.
The space was vast, and the huge pool could accommodate a hundred people without any problem. The water was crystal clear, and the blue tiles at the bottom of the pool made it look like the deep blue sea. Professional lifeguards were also on standby.
For this school, its students were a precious resource.
“Saiki-kun!”
At that moment, a light voice came from the side, unmistakably Kushida Kikyou.
At this moment, Kushida Kikyou was wearing the same one-piece swimsuit as the other girls, but her slender figure and curves were undeniably prominent, effortlessly capturing the attention of the opposite sex.
Saiki slightly turned his head to avoid letting his gaze linger on Kushida for too long, otherwise, his x-ray vision would continue to extend.
“Did you two come together?”
On the other side, leaning against the wall, Suzune Horikita had her arms crossed over her chest, her eyes sweeping over both Ayanokoji and Saiki.
Although Suzune couldn’t compare with Kushida in terms of upper body curves, she too had a stunning figure, with pale and slender legs visible beneath her swimsuit.
“After all, there aren’t many people like us who aren’t good at socializing,” Ayanokoji slowly said.
Saiki turned his head to look at the other side. Although the PE teacher hadn’t arrived yet, many students had already eagerly jumped into the pool.
At that moment, Saiki caught a familiar voice.
【Is this Class D of the first year?】
The voice came from another layer of the pool room’s wall.
‘If I’m not mistaken, the person speaking is named Horikita Manabu.’
Saiki remembered the voice because it belonged to the student representative who spoke at their entrance ceremony.
