Chapter 1: Chapter 1 : Unspoken Question
I can never live a boring life...
I can never work at a boring place...
I will not lay on my deathbed with 'ifs'...
Seoul's Christmas Tower gleamed with a thousand Here's a revised version of Chapter 1:
Choi Ha-Na stood alone, her eyes fixed on the Seoul Christmas Tower's peak, its thousand lights twinkling like diamonds against the dark canvas of the night sky. The festive atmosphere, filled with the sweet scent of hot chocolate and the sound of carolers, seemed to mock her, highlighting the emptiness within.
"I can never live a boring life... I can never work at a boring place... I will not lay on my deathbed with 'ifs,'" she whispered to herself, the words echoing in her mind like a mantra. But as she gazed up at the tower, Ha-Na felt the familiar stirrings of frustration and desperation.
"Why?!" she screamed, her voice shattering the calm night air, echoing off the skyscrapers. "What's the point of it all? I followed the rules, worked hard, achieved success... BUT WHAT FOR?!" Tears streamed down her face as she confronted the heavens.
Ha-Na's long, dark hair whipped around her face, and her eyes blazed with frustration. "Is this all there is? A never-ending cycle of monotony? Where's the passion? The fire? The purpose?" The city lights blurred together as tears flooded her eyes.
She clenched her fists, her voice cracking. "You're supposed to be the all-knowing, all-powerful... BUT WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I NEEDED YOU? WHEN I WAS STRUGGLING, WHEN I WAS HURTING?" The silence that followed was oppressive, a heavy blanket that suffocated her.
As the initial surge of emotion began to wane, Ha-Na felt drained, her body trembling with exhaustion. She turned away from the tower, the lights fading into the distance as she walked back to her apartment. The city's gentle hum enveloped her, a soothing balm for her frazzled nerves.
Ha-Na collapsed onto her bed, letting the darkness envelop her. As she drifted off to sleep, she felt an unusual sense of calm wash over her, like a soft whisper in the darkness. For the first time in months, her mind didn't race with worries and doubts. She slept peacefully, surrounded by the city's gentle hum.
