Sauron's road of redemption

Chapter 16: treasonous servants

Messinia was left in the office with a slack jaw, bewildered by the audacity that this man has for ordering her marriage without even consulting her.

Mairon walked down the halls together with Vysesa, the walls hanging paintings of past lord's.

On one the destruction of Gis was depicted.

A dragon rider good victorious over the empire riding a dragon.

Others depicted other family members bonding with their dragon or parading around the commoners.

At the end of the hall a giant painting depicting the biggest dragon among all others it's head could almost fit an entire different dragon.

At the corner its name was depicted.

Agnarious.

Mairon stoped before the painting.

The dragon was 400 meters from head to tail.

A fly in comparison to Ancalagon, but a respectable size non the less.

At leat three times larger than smaug, and bulkier too.

But still a mortal beast.

He may have a great advantage over smaug in size mass and fire power but nothing beats intelligence.

"He was one of the first dragons willing to contact our ancestors, as they were caught and sold as slaves."

"Giving them room to grow and bond with the lesser dragons."

"As tribute all noble houses have a painting of him in our houses."

"Allas he died of old age a thousand years ago."

"But his legacy continues."

"The dragon you saw with me, was one of his descendants."

Messinia had snuck up on Mairon after he left, but stopped before the painting.

Vysesa beside her parents listened to the conversation with stars in her eyes.

If she could one day fly on such a giant dragon, it is all she could hope for.

"So your saying this dragon was intelligent?"

"Yes he could speak too."

"We made a contract with him allowing us to live among his people."

"He was one of the only decendants of Balarion the dragon god."

"There are only three decendants of Balarion over the timespan of our civilisation."

"And only one is still alive."

"Keeping our situation stable."

"If he dies so does our civilisation."

"Why?" Asked Mairon but Messinia refused to go further into the topic.

'it seems I will need to speak to those nature spirits after I cleaned house here.'

'and I will need to collect some blood from her dragon.'

'maybe some bone from this Agnarious, after I collect smaugs remains.'

After that I will have to look for Ancalagon's and Glaurons remains.'

'That way I can enhance our dragons.'

'but most importantly I will need to modify my orcs.'

'the humans here are not trustworthy.'

'i rather trust the beings I am going to operate on geneticly to make them loyal.'

"Let's go see our staff " Mairon decided before walking into the dubbele staircases leading into a open hall where the servents stood waiting for them with a slack demeanor.

Looking down at them Mairon felt more and more distaste.

'I truely don't understand these humans.'

'sure the Dracon family is on hard times but they still hold money power and a dragon.'

'how are they so relaxed around the masters of the house.'

'well time to set an example.'

"Good to see that everyone is here."

"I have some important things to discuss."

"Sir it's not a good idea to recall all guards from the estate."

"And why are you speaking instead of the family head."

The guard that brought them in asked.

He wasn't afraid to question Mairon about anything.

He had already sold out the Dracon family and now had the backing to not fear them.

Mairon frowned at being interrupted by the worm in front of him.

But he kept it in he was not going to show his true self just yet.

First act weak to lure out some of the spies and after decapitate them swiftly.

50000 years of life is enough to build up some patience.

"Like I was saying, I will be the new master of house Dracon."

Vysesa and Messinia stood beside him.

Even if Messinia was not yet convinced of all this, she could play along and let Mairon draw all the political, hate, fire and pressure after ignoring their game.

And directly claiming this family as his own.

She could already see the veins snapping on that old coots forehead after he learns that she has been claimed by some random passerby.

A wicked smile formed on her face.

If Mairon truely was a god and could get trough the political shitstorm he deserved, house Dracon and he deserved her.

But if he could not, at least he would take the pressure of her for a while allowing her some space to make escape plans.

While making sure she burns down anything that those scavengers would like to take from the carcass that is the Dracon family.

"You may call me Sauron, I will steer house Dracon back to the place it belongs."

"At the very top of the Valyrian hierarchy."

"Now my first order of business is some cleaning in the family."

Bam!

The door slamed open and Laurena walked in non gelantly "hey guys."

"Sorry I'm late."

"----"

"Nevermind, I will shut up."

Laurena moved to stand beside her sister.

Secretly squizing her butt.

Only to get her hand slapped and a glare from her sister.

Which she answered with a grin.

Mairon seeing this had his eye spasm a bit.

"Sigh alright I am done with today."

'i give up no more hiding my true self.'

'what is the use even only being of the same caliber as me deserve to be schemed against.'

'mortals don't.'

And so Mairon made the same mistake he made in middle earth, by underestimating the hobbits back then led to his demise.

Now he does the same for these humans.

Changing the way of thinking of a 50000 year old man is impossible in a short time.

But he will learn eventually either trough experience or pain.

Opening his soul sight he browsed trough the servants sins.

Finding more than 16 spies 7 traitors and 14 right out criminals.

So he lifted his hand and his telekinesis got to work.

And before anyone could say anything 37 heads popped like fireworks on new years Eve.

"They were traitors." He simply stated.

"From now on work hard and don't betray the family if you don't want to end up like them."

"Now if you will excuse me I have a family to run."

Mairon turned around ignoring the horrified faces of those attending.

Lucky Vysesa was spared the sight by the swift intervention of her mother, blocking her eyes.

Under the disbelieving gaze of his new family he left the room.

"This is what I call a introduction." He said with a big grin.
