Chapter Update 2021
Happy New Year!
I’m back! Well, quasi-back. Here’s an update:
I’m settling into a new home and a new job position. I *AM* taking the time to start writing Seaborn again, though! The thing with that is due to the aforementioned new home/job my writing time is sporadic, and will be for the foreseeable future. I’ve written two new chapters that I’ve released on Patreon – that was a ‘thank-you’ to the awesome list of crazy people who stuck around on Patreon for the months I was away with no content just to support me. Those guys are amazing!
If you want to check Patreon out for those chapters, I have a $2 tier.
I plan to do as I’ve always done in giving my Patrons my chapters as I write them. (Full disclosure: I don’t know what that’s going to look like in the next few weeks.) When I have a better handle on my schedule and work/life balance, I’ll give everyone further updates. The current plan is to restart the 1/week RR chapter release when I have a few Patreon chapters backlogged. My guesstimate on that timeframe is to expect chapters to show up starting mid-February.
I felt that over the “Tulisang training arc” that the story got off track, and it seems that a number of you all agree. A lot of you also noted that the last few chapters released felt rushed, to which I freely admit they were. I anticipated being gone for an extended period and wanted to get to a stopping point (the cliffhanger you all suffered wasn’t even my original stopping point – imagine how much worse you could have had it if I wasn’t cramming late-night writing sessions! Bwahaha!) and in that rush I made rushed errors.
I want to fix writing problems like this going forward. I think Domenic’s getting back on track, and he’s dragging me with him. I’ve also learned some valuable writing lessons about the pace of a story and how to (or not to) flesh out exposition. This story has always been practice for me, and I’m glad to have learned some things. That being said, I appreciate your patience as I work through future amateur errors!
