She is NOT a cute catgirl!

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

yawn~

Aoi groggily opens his eyes. He still is immensely sleepy, but the peeping sound from his alarm clock keeps him from continuing his peaceful rest.

He reluctantly stirs and sits straight up, with his eyes still half closed, as he’s too sleepy to really open them.

He looks to his side, trying to find out why the hell his alarm wakes him up in the middle of the night. It’s still completely dark outside, with not even a glimmer of sunlight entering his small run-down bedroom.

But when he looks at his clock, it just obediently sits on his bedside table, showing the time ‘0:00’ with the correct morning timers set, whixh are certaintly not now. This puzzles Aoi greatly. From where does the sound come from?

Aoi doesn’t remember having another object that could emit such an annoying ringing sound. He moves his gaze to look around in his room, trying to find the source of this annoying ringing.

Then suddenly, he notices an unfamiliar light in his room. His still sleepy eyes can’t make it out exactly, but it seems somehow... blue?! That’s not a light color he should see in his room at midnight. His puzzlement turns into confusion, as this midnight endeavor turns weirder every second.

The light is so dim, that even under the complete absence of moonlight, as it is a new moon, the light was unnoticed until now.

Aoi turns his head, curios what emits blue light and makes annoying beeping noises in his room at midnight.

After the moderate time awake, combined with the confusion by the weird anomaly, his eyes have now adapted to the dark environment with more dilated pupils and his brain now working a little faster.

But when Aoi finally sees the source of all the midnight discomfort, he instantly becomes dazzled, his heartbeat accelerating with his pupils dilating even further.

He never saw something like that.

Right before him is a weird blue thing, looking a bit like… a chat box? But what really confuses him, is how this weird chat-box-like thing just casually denies gravity and floats in the air.

It is translucent, but the ringing noise clearly comes out of its direction, what should be impossible normally.

This thing has clearly no space for something like a speaker to emit a sound, as it’s paper thin. But somehow, it still does.

After a short moment of calming down from this midnight shock, Aoi more precisely scrutinizes this confusing blue thing and notices some white writing on it, reading:

“Congratulations!!!

You are one of the few that have won the parasitic symbiosis of an intergalactic system!”

After a short pause, another of these chat boxes pop up, seemingly a reaction to Aoi reading the first message. It displays:

“You stupid host! I extra got here at the start of a day of this planet and you dare take so long to answer?! You insolent little tweep.”

Aoi’s brain instantly freezes. Bewildered by so much weird information and the unexpected sudden insults, his brain is stuck at processing what just happened. He really can’t comprehend the weirdness of this midnight encounter.

All of this is so bizarre, he instantly pinches his arm to make sure this isn’t another of the weird dreams he sometimes has. But the resulting stinging pain proofs otherwise, making him flinch a little, but also a little more awake.

This weird system-thing is truly a part of reality. And it truly just randomly insults him.

But he doesn’t dwell so long on that thought. Maybe, this thing really just thought, humans normally begin their day at 0:00. Hopefully it’s in reality much nicer. Maybe is it just easily triggered…

But nevertheless, his curious spirit has been awakened, because he is now fully awake and is extremely excited about the possibilities this system could bring.

Is it like the systems you find in anime and online books? And even if it were, why would such a magical thing have something to do with him, a fairly average high school student? And then, is it really magical? Or can it also be physically explained?

All those questions swirl in Aoi’s overly curious mind, as his eyes shine with excitement. Maybe this system will give him superpowers and he will become super strong?!

“Stupid host, you are as childish as I predicted. Don’t set your hopes up too high, we systems are only a rare form of parasitic creatures, that enter a symbiotic relationship with living beings around the universe like you. We need a host to live, but give them some benefits in return in areas we specialize in. And I’m no superpower system. Understood?!”

Once again, Aoi is stunned. This thing can even read his thoughts!? What is this thing?! And why the hell must it be so rude?

Nearly all of his excitement has been deflated. He really hoped to become strong, like superheroes he admired as he still was a little child.

In this moment, another message pops up.

“No, I unfortunately can’t read all your thoughts. You can hide them from me if you so will, but I would recommend sharing them to keep this mighty system from doing things you might not want.”

Unfortunately?! Aoi is relieved to still have some privacy with his thoughts, but this system finds it unfortunate?!

He tries to ignore the inexplicable rudeness of this system, hoping, it is at core much friendlier and will open up after a while, then showing its considerate and gentle side.

Aoi clings to these hopes, but he still feels very annoyed of this system. All of those protagonists in stories get the good and over powered system and he gets this…

“But why would you choose me as your host. I don’t think I’m a special person. And you mentioned something with benefits and specialization... What benefits?”

Is his next question, in hope to steer the conversation into another direction. Maybe, it still is overpowered, but not in the sense of strong superpowers.

“I just choose someone with a decent enough soul, too lazy to really look for an ideal host. You were apparently the first acceptable host I found. For the other question, most of the benefits, your undersized brain probably wouldn’t understand, but some of the simple ones are: That you now have the access to an interface, which shows your strength and weaknesses and some of my quests I need you to do. And for my specialization… you will find out soon enough (・ω <)”

Exactly at that moment, another window pops up. But the hurtful revelation, that this system is completely useless, makes Aoi sulk. He turns his body away with crossed arms. All the hope and excitement wasted for this garbage system.

But after a while, his curiosity still takes the better of him, making him reluctantly turn back to the new system window, while his face shows his annoyance.

The window consists of two columns, one labeled ‘quests’ and one labeled ‘stats’. While the column with quests is completely empty, in the stats column there are combinations of words and an assigned number to each word. It shows:

Strength: 70

Endurance: 65

Beauty: 100

Intelligence: 65

“What do all these numbers mean?”

Is the first question that shots into his mind. But he still deliberately allows the system to see, not concealing them at all.

“100 is the average for adults, and 50 the average for children at the age of 10. The host is for his age under-average at nearly everything.”

The bluntness of this system is really unnerving for Aoi, especially as he feels a little downcast by the uselessness of this system.

He knew he isn’t the smartest, but this thing clearly understates his intelligence!! He is much smarter than this thing says!!

“No host, you really are as stupid as it says. Your body just doesn’t fit your personality and soul at all. One consequence of this is, that you appear much smarter than you really are. It looks smart, composed and reliable, all things that certainly aren’t you.

At least part of your true femininity, cuteness and timidity shines through… I should really fix that and maybe make you a bit more pleasing to the eye while doing so…

Yea, that’s it! A good first thing to do with my new host (^-^)”

All the insults this system constantly throws at him finally make Aoi angry. He straightens his back, puffs up his cheeks and frowns as he finally prepares to toughly retort and scold this system. It should treat him better;!

But then, his brain finally understands the meaning of the words the system just said.

A shiver runs down his spine, as he shrinks back, his brows furrowed with some slight fear and apprehension, while he doesn’t dare to imagine the meaning of these words. He anxiously asks inside his head:

“Y-You said you will change my body and make me more pleasing to the eye… What does that mean exactly?”

“I don’t plan to have a male average-looking nerdy guy as my host. For fucks sake, I’ll need to see you every day from now on. I’ll simply create you a new body, even making it fit your soul better. Win-Win, So don’t complain!”

At this answer, panic and fear explode in Aoi’s mind. This thing really plans to change his body and didn’t lie.

It can’t just do that without his consens! Especially if he doesn’t even know how it will change him.

This system doesn’t seem to come from earth, what if its beauty standards are completely different and he will look like some alien, that the system likes to see, after it is done with him?!

Just at this moment, his body starts to feel weird. He feels his heart pounding in his chest with growing panic. He quickly scrambles out of his bed, not bothering to probably make his bed as his body now invigorated with adrenaline.

Only wearing his pajamas, he quickly leaves his small bedroom, runs through the minimalistic living room and enters the bathroom, which lays directly adjacent to his bedroom. He swiftly turns on the light, but nearly falls as he has been blinded by the light. He quickly rubs his eyes to regain his sight.

Aoi couldn’t believe it, right before his eyes his prior, somewhat androgynous appearance was getting more feminine and smaller every second. His previous average height of 170cm/5’6’’ quickly diminishing. He instantaneously yelled at the system in his head:

“W-What are you doing to my body!? … Stop it! ... “

“Calm down stupid host. I can assure you that your new body will be a much better match for your soul and personality.”

The system interface instantly generates this response, while Aoi’s body continues to change rapidly. He looks at his changing form with despair, all the excitement from befor having completetly disappeared.

“T-This can’t be…”

Aoi always wanted to be the strong and masculine man, society wanted him to be. But now, he sees himself turning even more feminine than he already is. When this continues, how would he ever reach his goal, of being strong and reliable?!

“Please!… Stop it”

But all of Aoi’s desperate pleas fall on deaf ears, as Aoi suddenly feels sleepy. Unbearable sleepy. He tries to stay awake but can only reluctantly close his eyes, the last thing he sees being another system message, reading:

“Dear Host, to prevent your illogical attempts at stopping your beneficial transformation, I decided to forcibly make your brain enter an idle state: Something your species call ‘sleeping’, to ensure a flawless transformation.”
