Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Nothing Said, Nothing Done
Chapter 4: Nothing Said, Nothing Done
Rossweise sat silently beside the bed for a long time.
Eventually, a quiet chuckle escaped her lips.
Leon heard it clearly, but he couldn't understand what it meant.
'Did she realize I am pretending to be asleep?'
'Impossible. My acting is flawless, right?'
His fingers twitched slightly, curling into a fist. He knew what he had done to Rossweise two years ago. She must hate him to her core.
The only reason she hadn't killed him while he was unconscious was that she wanted to wait for him to wake up, so she could torture him slowly.
Leon wasn't going to let her have her way.
If she'd caught on to his act, then he would face her head-on. No backing down.
He listened carefully as Rossweise removed her high heels.
Clink—
The sound of her shoes hitting the floor echoed through the room.
Then came the soft rustling of fabric sliding against the sheets.
It was a sound that sent a strange, tingling sensation through Leon's body.
The next moment, a delicate fragrance wafted through the air, brushing lightly against Leon's face.
That scent… Leon recognized it.
It was the same fragrance he had smelled before losing consciousness in the dungeon two years ago.
Back then, it had been faint, buried under the smell of alcohol. But now, it was unmistakable.
'What is she doing, getting this close to me?'
'Planning to kill me without a sound?'
He scoffed inwardly. 'Clever dragon. Keeping the noise down so that little Moon wouldn't hear.'
If the child witnessed such a bloody scene, it would leave deep psychological scars.
Leon stayed perfectly still, waiting to see what Rossweise intended to do.
He felt her fingers—thumb and forefinger—gently move toward his nose.
Then—
She pinched it.
"Oh, right, I forgot about the mouth."
With that, she used her other hand to cover his mouth.
However, it was clear she wasn't trying to suffocate him. Leon could feel that she was deliberately controlling her strength.
She didn't want to kill him—just make it hard for him to breathe.
If she had truly intended to kill him, she would've gone for his throat.
This was a test, to see if he was really awake.
Leon held his breath.
He just had to endure this, wait for her to leave, and then he could figure out how to escape.
The seconds ticked by.
Rossweise was patient. She knelt beside him, holding his mouth and nose without saying a word.
And Leon? Leon didn't flinch. His face stayed calm, his heartbeat steady.
'What a joke—I am the greatest Dragon Slayer. I can hold my breath underwater for twenty minutes with no problem.'
"You sure can hold your breath," Rossweise said, amusement evident in her voice.
Leon allowed himself a moment of silent pride.
But then, something unexpected happened.
Warmth spread across his ear as Rossweise leaned in close, her breath hot against his skin.
A wave of heat slid from his ear down the back of his neck, sending a shiver through him.
That warm breath carried the faint scent of her… a subtle sweetness.
'You're testing me like this?'
'What kind of man can't handle a little breath?'
'Ha!'
'Immature dragon.'
But Rossweise wasn't done.
When she realized her breath wasn't working, she shifted tactics.
She parted her lips slightly, gently nibbling on Leon's earlobe.
There was a faint hint of pain, but more than that, it was the sensation of a woman's body so close to his.
Leon's hand clenched into a tight fist.
But this time, it wasn't to prepare for an attack.
It was to suppress his primal instincts.
'Little dragon, do you really think such a cheap trick can confuse me, the Empire's top Dragon Slayer?'
'Ha!'
Immature ×2
"Hey, stop pretending. It's standing up."
"W-What? Standing up? What are you talking about—I don't know what you're—"
The atmosphere shifted into awkwardness.
Rossweise sat beside him, a smug smile on her face, her eyes narrowing as she looked down at Leon. "See? It's standing up."
Silence hung in the air for two full seconds before Leon sprang from the bed in a single, fluid motion, fists raised.
"Well, now that you've caught me, there's nothing left to say. Come on, do what you will. But I won't go down without a fight."
Rossweise calmly tucked a strand of her silver hair behind her ear, entirely unfazed by his threat. "Don't you think you owe me an apology for what you did two years ago?"
"…You—do you think I wanted to do that? Humans and dragons… we're fundamentally incompatible. If it were under normal circumstances, I wouldn't touch you even if I were dying."
Rossweise raised an eyebrow. "So what you're saying is, touching me was a form of torture?"
"Of course!"
"Heh, Leon Casmodeous."
Her dragon-like pupils suddenly sharpened, a telltale sign that a dragon was preparing to attack.
Leon's body was still weak, but he would fight back until his last breath.
However, before he could make a move, Rossweise's tail whipped around his ankle, yanking him back down onto the bed.
Leon struggled to get back up, but Rossweise swiftly stood, her long legs crossing the space between them, and planted one elegant foot firmly on his chest.
"W-What are you planning to do...?"
"I'm going to take my revenge, Leon Casmodeous. I'm going to return the favor for what you did to me two years ago."
The concept of revenge has always been a perplexing subject for human dragonologists.
Leon had heard stories about it before.
For dragons, revenge was an obsession, a compulsion beyond human comprehension, mixing extreme emotions and irrationality.
So no matter what Rossweise did in the name of revenge, Leon wasn't surprised.
'But still...'
'Two years ago, I humiliated you by getting you pregnant with one shot.'
'And now, you plan to return the favor?'
'Your Majesty, isn't this revenge a little… wild?'
Leon didn't have time to dwell on Rossweise's vengeful psyche.
Her silver tail was already raised high behind her, a clear indication that the dragon was... excited.
And excitement didn't just mean simple joy or happiness like Moon's childlike exuberance.
No, it meant something far more... physical.
"Rossweise, either kill me now or give me a sword so we can settle this with a real fight."
If she truly wanted a fair 1v1, Leon would accept it gladly.
Even if he knew he couldn't win in his current state, he would still fight to protect his honor as a Dragon Slayer.
But in reality?
This was indeed a 1v1 between a human and a dragon, just not in the way Leon had expected.
Rossweise didn't bother responding. Her tail pinned him down, preventing him from moving.
Seeing this, Leon tried a different approach, hoping to awaken whatever shred of knightly spirit remained in her.
"Your Majesty... you can kill a Dragon Slayer, but you cannot shame one. Forcing me to do this with you... it's the greatest insult to my honor."
Rossweise's eyes remained half-closed as a blush crept across her cheeks. She swayed gently, her movements in sync with her breathing.
"If you think doing this with a dragon is an insult to a Dragon Slayer, then you should've known this would be your fate the moment you used Bloodline Charm on me two years ago."
"That was a special situation. I thought I was going to die."
"I don't care to hear your excuses, Leon. Since you say it's an insult, I'm even more determined to complete my revenge."
"Rossweise, you—"
"Shhh~~~"
Rossweise pressed a finger softly to Leon's lips.
She slowly opened her eyes, her dragon-like pupils shimmering with both affection and something far more carnal.
Leon stared back at her, momentarily stunned.
Despite the apparent tenderness in her gaze, Leon knew it was only a product of their current situation.
Whatever affection he thought he saw was nothing more than a biological reaction.
Even Rossweise had admitted it—this was about humiliating him. This was her revenge.
"Well then—"
Her voice dropped to a whisper, soft and sultry, laced with a victor's smugness, "Let's... begin."
Leon shut his eyes, struggling to suppress the involuntary reactions of his body.
But there was no use.
No man could possibly resist in a situation like this.
Biological impulses were clashing violently with Leon's pride and honor as a Dragon Slayer.
It was like a war between light and dark, with no possibility of coexistence—only mutual destruction.
And Rossweise... she had already committed to walking this twisted path of revenge.
