Chapter 51: Chapter 51: “My~ Feeling Sorry For Me Now?”
"Hehe~"
The little dragon girl prepared herself to spectate.
Looking back at the one human and one dragon in the arena, both were getting into position, ready for a "friendly exchange" between husband and wife.
Rossweise rubbed her wrist with a radiant smile. "Speaking of which, your body probably hasn't recovered to the level where you can fight the Dragon King yet, right?"
Leon stretched his legs in a lunging stance, warming up for the fight. "So what? The chance to spar with the Silver Dragon Queen doesn't come often. Of course, I have to make the most of it."
"Oh? Then you don't need to push yourself too hard. Should I fetch your Black Gold Armor from the warehouse?"
Leon paused his stretch.
It was fine not mentioning it, but as soon as she brought up that unreliable armor, Leon felt his kidneys ache.
'The master hadn't fallen to the dragon, but the armor had already fallen.'
'Useless!'
'What's the point of you existing?'
'You've already turned into Rossweise's slave.'
(Black Gold Armor: (╥﹏╥))
"No need, light gear works fine." Leon finished his stretches and hopped in place twice.
Rossweise glanced at their daughters to ensure they were far enough away not to overhear the conversation, then looked back at Leon.
"Fighting like this, I'm afraid you won't be motivated enough. How about... we bet on something?"
"A bet? On what?"
"If you win, I won't touch you for a month. How about that?"
Leon's eyes lit up.
'What?'
'A whole month?'
Considering this mother dragon's whimsical demands, who knew how many punishments he could avoid in a month.
It was unthinkable in normal circumstances.
He was completely tempted.
But Leon quickly calmed down, suspecting it wouldn't be that simple.
As the saying goes, "The greater the reward, the higher the risk."
Since this mother dragon could offer such an attractive condition as a one-month reprieve, then conversely, if Leon lost...
"If you lose, you'll have to obediently fulfill one of my requests. How about that?"
"W-what request?"
"Oh my, why are you so eager to hear the losing condition? Seems like you're certain you can't win, huh?" Rossweise teased playfully.
"Pressure creates motivation."
"Humph, is that so? Well, I won't tell you."
Rossweise smiled confidently. "So, Dragon Slayer, even if you don't know what the consequences of losing will be, do you still dare accept?"
Leon hesitated briefly, then firmly nodded. "Alright, I accept this bet."
Rossweise was visibly surprised by Leon's boldness and resolve. "You really dare to accept? You should know that in your current state, beating me is nearly impossible, right?"
"Losing just means you'll torment me in some new way. Close my eyes, grit my teeth, and it'll pass."
As Leon spoke, he assumed a combat stance. "But if I win, I'll have a whole month of freedom. In the empire, this is called a risk investment."
Rossweise chuckled softly. "Alright, you've got guts, Leon."
She loved this man's stubborn streak.
Never backing down, always looking for an opportunity, and never losing his determination.
Only such a person was worthy of being her opponent as the Silver Dragon Queen.
Seeing the two ready to fight, not far away, Luna jumped off the bench, waving a small flag. "Start~"
At her daughter's signal, Leon pushed off the ground with his right foot, shooting forward like a bullet.
His speed was so fast that a faint afterimage lingered mid-air.
When the afterimage became solid again, Leon was already right in front of Rossweise.
Leon raised his fist, aiming directly at Rossweise's chest.
The queen crossed her arms in front of her chest, blocking Leon's full-strength blow at the intersection.
The force of the punch sent a gust of wind and dust spreading to both sides of Rossweise.
"So fast, Leon." Rossweise smiled easily.
The double entendre wasn't lost on Leon.
"If not fast, it'd be hard."
Leon used his waist and legs to generate another burst of force, pushing Rossweise back several meters.
Steadying herself, Rossweise shook her arms.
That hit actually hurt a bit.
"Now it's my turn."
She spread her hands, palms facing upward. Instantly, two blazing dragon flames appeared in her palms.
She hurled the flames toward Leon.
Leon dodged agilely, constantly trying to close the distance to Rossweise.
The frequency of dragon flame attacks was high, causing multiple explosions in the practice field.
Heatwaves and tremors came one after another.
Not a single flame hit Leon; he dodged them all.
The final flame whizzed past Leon's cheek, exploding brightly behind him.
Using the explosion's momentum, Leon leaped high, charging at Rossweise.
"Competing in speed with the Silver Dragon clan, Dragon Slayer? That's rather overconfident~"
Rossweise slightly crouched, her figure disappearing instantly.
The next moment, she reappeared ghost-like at Leon's side, sweeping him away with her tail.
Leon drew a perfect arc through the air before crashing into the ground.
"Are you okay, Daddy?" Luna nervously crushed the chips in her hand.
Leon raised his hand to reassure her. "I'm fine, just got careless."
Luna, biting her chips, worriedly asked, "Will Daddy get beaten up by Mommy?"
"Probably not," Noah analyzed methodically. "From the beginning until Mommy's attack just now, Daddy's been relying purely on physical techniques for offense and evasion. Meanwhile, after taking Daddy's first punch, Mommy immediately began using dragon flames for ranged combat before launching a surprise attack. This suggests Mommy isn't confident in winning close combat."
Luna blinked her pretty eyes, looking blankly at her sister. "I don't get it, but it sounds amazing."
Noah, with a serious expression, kept her eyes fixed on the two in the arena.
"It really is... incredible. Not a single unnecessary movement or wasted effort."
Leon slowly stood up, dusting off his clothes.
"Still not giving up?" Rossweise asked.
"That's a whole month of vacation at stake. How can I give up so easily?"
"Alright then, old stubborn mule. Show me what else you've got."
With that, Rossweise gathered her magical energy again.
This time, her left hand wielded dragon flames, while her right hand summoned water currents. She hurled both powers simultaneously.
Instantly, a thick mist rose, obscuring Leon's vision.
Leon heightened his vigilance, on guard for any movement around him.
The next second, a disturbance came from behind. Leon instinctively turned to block.
But it was a feint.
Rossweise swiftly adjusted her stance, swept her leg low, and knocked Leon off balance.
Before Leon could hit the ground, Rossweise's tail coiled around his leg, hurling him away.
Taking advantage of Leon's airborne state, where he couldn't dodge, Rossweise followed up with two dragon flames.
However, just before the flames hit Leon, she made them collide and explode prematurely.
The explosion's shockwave alone sent Leon flying further.
If the flames had hit directly, Leon would've been in serious trouble.
After all, this was just sparring. Rossweise wouldn't truly go all out.
From an outsider's perspective, however, it looked like Leon had taken the full brunt of the attack.
Noah: "What a brutal combo..."
Luna: "Poor Daddy... Is Daddy going to lose?"
Leon coughed a few times, standing up again.
"Still not giving up?" Rossweise asked with a smile.
Bent over, breathing heavily, Leon raised his right hand slowly.
"No one... can take away my one-month vacation."
"I want my vacation. Don't underestimate my determination to take a break, you vixen."
CRACK—
Electric sparks danced in his palm, crackling sharply as they tore through the air.
Rossweise's smile faded as she warned, "Leon, your body might not handle using magic right now. You'll—"
"Watch closely, Mother Dragon. Magic must be used flexibly."
With that, Leon clenched his fist.
The accumulated lightning magic surged into his body, stimulating every muscle, bone, and reflex.
Rossweise stared in astonishment.
"You... You're actually using lightning magic to enhance your body..."
Leon's current condition indeed made high-intensity magic use unwise.
But by carefully controlling the lightning element, he could enhance his body.
The goal was to overpower Rossweise in close combat.
"Rossweise, let's see if you can keep up with my speed now."
Recovering from her brief shock, Rossweise smirked. "Honestly, I don't like fast men. I prefer if you take your time." [T/N: 👌🏻]]
With that, both their figures vanished, leaving only blue and silver streaks on the field as they clashed, collided, and pursued each other.
Flashes of lightning and bursts of fire filled the air.
After several rounds, Leon finally seized an opportunity, grabbing Rossweise's arms and slamming her toward the ground.
But just before Rossweise's head hit the hard ground, Leon pulled back his strength and leaned forward to support her head.
The two froze in this position, staring into each other's eyes.
"My, feeling sorry for me now?" Rossweise teased.
