Chapter 72: Chapter 72: Died of Embarrassment
The family arrived at the guest hall of the temple.
Leon and Rossweise sat side by side.
Luna and Noah were still being hugged and snuggled by their aunt. Judging by the looks of it, they wouldn't be released until dinner was served.
"What does Luna like to eat?" Isa asked.
"Pan-fried steak! Luna loves pan-fried steak."
"Alright, it just so happens that Auntie prepared pan-fried steak for dinner. And what about little Noah?"
"I'm fine with anything, Auntie."
"Noah is so well-behaved. By the way, Auntie heard you started attending Saint Heath Academy half a month ago?"
Noah nodded.
"Wow, that's amazing. You're just a little over one year old, and you're already in school. How are your grades?"
Noah modestly replied, "They're alright—"
Luna forbade her modesty, "Sister is the top student in many subjects."
Isa's eyes lit up. "That's wonderful, my little Noah. Just like your mom when she was a child."
Trigger Keyword: 'Your Mom When She Was a Child.'
As everyone knew, whenever someone mentioned childhood, it was inevitably time for a full display of embarrassing stories.
Even someone as usually cool and composed as Noah perked up her ears at this moment, afraid to miss a single word Auntie was about to say.
Now, the main issue was: who would carry on the topic of "Your Mom When She Was a Child"?
The two little ones simultaneously looked at their dad.
Leon raised an eyebrow.
'Alright! Alright! Alright!'
What else could Dad do? Of course, he had to spoil his daughters. It's not like he didn't want to know for himself.
Digging up this dragon mom's embarrassing history? Consider it a noble duty.
"So, sis, how amazing was it?" Leon asked.
"How amazing? Little Rose used to win first place so often that her hands got tired of holding awards. I remember when she transitioned to the senior division, she even gave a speech as an outstanding student representative. Oh, I still have the photos I took of her back then. Let me go get them for you to see."
"Wait, sis, no—"
Rossweise tried to stop her, but Isa had already put down the two little dragon girls and jogged out of the guest hall.
Immediately, Rossweise had a bad feeling.
"Your sister is really enthusiastic, huh," Leon gloated.
Rossweise shot him a glare. "Don't get too smug. After she's done with me, you're next."
Leon shrugged indifferently. "I don't have any embarrassing history in her hands. What's there to be afraid of?"
"Don't overestimate yourself, and don't underestimate my sister."
While they bickered, Isa returned, holding a thick photo album in her arms.
Her face was beaming with joy.
It was clear this wasn't some spur-of-the-moment idea—this was thoroughly prepared, dear sister.
Rossweise's cold, frosty expression seemed to crack slightly. "Sis… didn't you say it was just one photo of me as the student representative? Why did you bring the whole album?"
Isa quickly sat down, eagerly flipping open the album. "I thought bringing just one photo was too much trouble, so I brought the whole thing. Let me find it… Ah, here it is."
With that, Isa handed the album to Leon.
The two little dragon girls also leaned in to join the fun.
In the photo that was flipped open, there was indeed a younger-looking Rossweise.
Back then, her face didn't carry the usual stern expression (of course, that was Leon's first impression).
As for the two little ones, their reaction was simple: 'Wow, Mom looked so pretty as a teenager.'
She wore Saint Heath Academy's uniform dress, her silver hair neatly tied into a ponytail. She looked bright and cheerful, completely different from the current ice queen demeanor.
"Wife, you were so full of life during your school days."
Rossweise turned her head away, refusing to engage with this guy.
A dog's mouth couldn't produce ivory.
But aside from being younger and more innocent, Leon noticed another interesting detail.
Above Rossweise's ears were her dragon horns.
She had mentioned before that she'd never met her parents, which meant she was also a live-born dragon. Dragon horns only appeared when they reached adulthood.
Rossweise's dragon horns were small and cute, making one feel an irresistible urge to touch them.
Leon swallowed his saliva and turned to look at the dragon mother beside him, staring at her ears with overly obvious intentions.
Rossweise rolled her eyes at him in disgust. "Don't ask for anything weird, thanks."
Leon clicked his tongue and looked away.
But the curiosity didn't dissipate. He wanted to continue flipping through the photos.
Basic manners dictated that without the owner's permission, he could only look at the one page handed to him.
Fortunately, Isa noticed the father and daughters' unfinished excitement and said,"You can flip through some more. Little Rose was super~ super~ super~ adorable when she was younger."
Permission granted. Start flipping.
Nothing was more satisfying than looking at your rival's childhood photos.
Unless… you hadn't seen enough.
Leon and the two little ones eagerly turned to the first page of the album, officially beginning their viewing session, completely ignoring the silver dragon's feelings.
As expected, on the first page, a silver-haired baby dragon faced the camera, showing off a lollipop in her hand.
"Mommy was so tiny!" Luna exclaimed excitedly. "Just as tiny as Luna."
To be fair, baby dragon Rossweise did look like a pure silver-haired version of Noah and Luna.
Her chubby baby face didn't detract from the delicate features of her face.
Leon flipped to the next page.
On this page, Rossweise had grown quite a bit, likely around ten years old, already showing signs of a cool beauty.
In one photo, she was practicing dragon flame.
On the same page was another photo, showing her injured hand being bandaged by Isa after a failed attempt at dragon flame practice.
"Wife, you and your sister seem to have a great relationship,"Leon said, outwardly complimenting but inwardly teasing.
Rossweise silently reached behind her, pinching Leon's waist without a word.
Leon shamelessly patted Rossweise's leg, signaling her to calm down. "Come on, come on, let's keep looking."
As they flipped further, they found various life moments captured over time.
One showed her first attempt at flying, eyes tightly shut out of fear of heights.
Another showed her first kill of a dangerous beast, proudly standing on its head.
The next photo, however, was an embarrassing one—her panicked reaction to a spider, where she used high-level magic to mercilessly obliterate it.
There were also many photos of Rossweise crying as a child.
Leon, flipping through them, couldn't help but smile an "auntie smile," without even realizing it himself.
How odd.
He had come with the intent to dig up embarrassing dirt on this dragon mother.
Yet, the more he looked, the more he found himself thinking, 'My wife is so cute.'
Oh well, who cares? As long as it's fun to look at.
The last photo in the album was taken on the day Rossweise inherited the title of "Silver Dragon Queen."
Seated on the throne, wearing a silver crown, the queen received the reverence of her silver dragon kin with a heroic and majestic aura.
Leon closed the album, just as reluctant as the two little ones, feeling they hadn't had enough.
Meanwhile, Rossweise let out a long sigh of relief.
'Finally, it is over.'
But clearly, she underestimated her sister's mischievous streak after not seeing her for so long.
This was only the appetizer.
After the album session ended, Isa pulled out a crystal ball from behind the sofa.
"Auntie, Auntie, what's that?" Luna asked excitedly.
Leon raised his hand. "I know! That's called a memory stone."
Of course, he knew all too well.
"Correct! This is a memory stone. Finally, we have the chance to watch it as a family. Little Rose, you must be feeling nostalgic too, right?"
Three dragons and one human all turned their gaze to Rossweise.
This was the day the Silver Dragon Queen most wished she could disappear into the ground.
Her frosty expression cracked, tinged with a hint of pleading.
"Sis… please, as your real sister, don't play what's in there."
Leon, however, had a different take. "Sis, I beg you, as your real brother-in-law, please play it for us."
Isa admired their contrasting reactions.
'Satisfied.'
'Very satisfied.'
"Alright then, since it's Leon's first time visiting my house, let's go with his request this time. Next time, we'll do as Little Rose wants."
Rossweise internally screamed: 'There won't be a next time!'
With that, Isa activated the memory stone, and a clear image appeared in the center of the guest hall.
They all looked up, and the first scene was of a young silver-haired dragon sitting on the ground, crying.
In the footage, an older Isa crouched beside her, comforting her while muttering,"Don't cry, Little Rose, don't cry. It's just that the messenger dragon took your lunch. Big Sis will make you another one soon. Don't cry, okay?"
"Later, that messenger dragon was starved for three days by Little Rose before it finally learned not to steal her food," Isa explained.
Leon leaned in to whisper to Rossweise, "So, why don't you seem to have any lingering trauma with messenger dragons now?"
"Hmph. Shut up," Rossweise said, bumping his shoulder.
Leon chuckled and dodged, continuing to watch the memory stone's footage.
The next scene was at the bathroom door, with the camera slightly shaking, giving off a home video vibe.
The next moment, Isa appeared in the frame, waved her hand to greet, and then made a "shush" gesture before pressing the memory crystal against the bathroom door.
Soon, a familiar voice came from inside the bathroom.
"I love bathing, it feels so good~~ Oh oh oh~~~ Scrubbing my tail, blowing bubbles~~ Oh oh oh~~"
Leon's smile nearly reached the heavens. "Honey, your singing voice is as beautiful as a nightingale's."
